Why yall hating on this man's ride? It's nice to see someone set up a 3rd gen correctly. Also transmissions are a dime a dozen for those cars and you can get a built one for cheap
Yeah either his converter Has A stupidly high stall speed Or is transmission and or clutch packs Are fried why would he not know this and make this video I notice he couldn’t even back out of his driveway
I buy most of my stuff too, dont have time to build it. But Im smart enough to know when a clutch is slipping or a tranny. Why does it all of a sudden make you less of a car guy if you buy stuff built? I guarantee I will spend less buying a fully restored car over you doing all the work yourself.
Bad tranny and stall converters aren't designed to actually have stall in reverse the fact that the transmission works better after a while shows it's taking a while to build pressure
this man is proud of what he has and all in all its a beautiful car ..............thanks man for the video do an update would love to see her again dont worrie about all these haters
Nice car I just have to wonder what converter you are running? It sounds VERY loose. I had ATI build me a 8" 4800 stall treemaster for my combo and it is as tight as a stock converter on the street but hits like a ton of bricks when you jump on it. They wanted to build me a 5800 stall converter but told me it would probably be to big for the street so instead they recommended the 4800 as a compromise.
yes they do make aftermarket adjustable vacuum modulators but they do not have adjustable ones installed from the factory for the th350 the modulator only controls the shift points via engine vacuum it does not control weather it has reverse or not the STALL converter in is what is making the reverse weak it has nothing to do with the reverse and by the way he was having to shift manually so that is showing me that he has a manual valve body and in that case the modulator is doing nothing :)
you can't be mad at this ride at all. looks good, sounds good, runs good. keep up the good work. one day the kids on youtube will have a car of their own to post, then they will have younger kids giving them shit about it. The world keeps on turning.
+Smitty B/ omg I thought the same thing. 383 strokers are badass. I rebuilding a 350 right now and I would be really bad at anyone who said it was crap.
Sweet car! Makes me miss my 89. Good job on the build, I bet your neighbors HATE you. That looks like a nice quiet neighborhood, then..."oh hell! he's pulling out the camaro again!" :P
i know alot of ones don't see this although, but its turning those big tires at 3:02 at a roll. there is alot of slippage there at the tires people. and no arguing the excelleration at 3:50
Upper rpm it’s backfiring . Not right. And yes that’s trans issues not the converter. Even after 3k rpm it still ain’t goin anywhere and the first time he floors it you can see the trans smokin.. I’m not sure... there’s other issues goin on.... it does sound good tho
@thatboyon6s No prob but if you dont mind. what size tires and wheel do you have on the back and what type of suspension setup do you have? A guy next door is building a car like yours with a 383 and he is going to need more tire than what he has now! Thanks for the info!
thats a good attitude man, I wish i could be more like that. I love this car though I think it IS all that. All i ask is that you enjoy it. wht kinda trans are you running?
Til I saw the in car shot, I swore it was a manual transmission and he was feathering the clutch to back out of the driveway. Sounds sick but needs driveline work.
Hard to tell how it runs sounds like it runs low 12s, judging by how it sounded like you put your foot in it all the way, yet it didn't spin the tires (barely). But it looks like you made it straight up pro street, but the engine is stock? Am I wrong? and you just put a mild cam in it and took the exhaust off...
You sure the converter doesn't need replacing or adjusting ?, High stall or not it was reving to the sky and not really going anywhere. Car sounds great just kind of looked like the converter has seen better days when you took off it didn't even squat down in the rear end. Nice car anyways.
😂 looks like my garage except I have 2 purple haze editions in there one is a Z28 in original condition and the other is the RS was a barn find and they don’t have any modifications yet but the parts are everywhere I have built 2 engines for them a sbc tpi 400 and a tpi 383 but still sitting on the stands 😂
yeh it is what is is bro! small minded people do that. Keep doing what you do, seems like you have a great family... looking forward to seeing some progress on the Malibu, I love Gbodys
For all of the people that are assuming this man bought it, then why is there a completely different car he is now building in the garage now (another 3rd gen)
MAN!! What a beautiful car! I got an 87 Camaro, and it doesn't even look 1/4th half as good as yours lol. Nice Camaro that was parked next to it in the garage also. Parts car?
Dude... AWESOME CAR!!! How much did you invested in that proyect? Any advice? (I'm planning to purchase one for street and strip... everyday use) What should i look in a 90's camaro?
Great looking car man, sounds like it maybe low on transmission fluid? Car sounds great too. Thanks for posting video on day off wonder if the Haters did there thumbs down on there day off? 11-7-2021
Not shure what it is but think the Converter is way to lose or to high of a stall. I have 4000 RPM stall and TH350 on Tirry Extream 383 Potato engine. It roast the tires any time I want.
@thatboyon6s man I get down there a couple times a year but I never trailor my toys with me. Yall be at it down there, you southern boys love the track! I wish I could get down there I might give you a run for your money. Keep it up though, your projects looking good. Just make sure you post some finished products.
