It's been a busy month, but I'm making progress towards setting up the bilge pump impeller test station.
For context, I want to create pump charts to accurately measure the output of some custom 3D printed bilge pump impellers that I plan to use to create a more efficient electric gold dredge. Perhaps an impeller with a high head pressure will prove useful to those running electric highbankers in situations where you are further from the waters edge, or require more pressure to break up material.

Yeah, it's a nice small tool to have that has surprised me with just how useful it is! I'm excited to see just what size of dredge can be practically made electric...

This is a new direction from the Canada high banker build of Aluminum and stainless steel . Does this mean that, that manufacture has been put on hold ? This new direction we are not clear what is the end goal . With the amount of subscribers you have 65K+ Asking for input could be a help to ideas for engineering stimulating and hastening your genius for design . We anticipate great things to be coming our way as an audience.

the "utmost adventurer" sold out of the first 6 production sluices in under 2 months. I plan to continue production at some point, but it has been put on hold for now due to my current living situation. I hope to make some progress with the 3D printing designs soon and hopefully I can give you some fun engineering solutions to keep you entertained, just through a different medium for now.

I think I'm seeing an "end goal". Seems to me that the goal would be the knowledge of efficiency in gold recovery on most scales?

I just stumbled on to this channel today and Im thrilled that I have! You seem to be actively answering, many of the questions that I have had, in creating the most efficient gold prospecting equipment. I spend a lot of time in the forests of North Idaho, cruising around on my atv, with a homemade sluice and pump that run off of my dual battery set up on my ATV. Efficiency/weight/"fuel" sources, are all incredibly important to me.

I'm a fairly new subscriber but I have seen most of your videos so far and all of your videos I have seen involve one aspect or another of the type of Gold Mining I do wether it's the highbankers or testing water flow on Commonly used Bilge pumps. All of it has been pretty helpful so far. 👍

Did you notice on the 2000gph pump , that water is being ejected from the 2 holes where the red filter clips on ? I wonder if significant advantage be gained if those holes were filled ? Or would the pump explode in certain situation and they act as necessary release valves ?

I hadn't noticed water escaping from there, but I imagine if the impeller casing was streamlined a bit it couldn't hurt... I doubt they are designed intentionally as a release valve. The pressure these pump are hitting is pretty low, and I think the design is just a very simplistic approach where any losses are not of any real concern to most users who just need a dry boat.

@@UtmostOutdoors All valid points. I shall try silicon sealant applied judiciously. I do want to remove the filter on occasion , although my arthritis makes that very difficult to push those tabs down enough to unclip

Haha, never! The 3D printer is a luxury. It's kind of funny how with driving directions I have just outsourced that part of my brain to my phones maps app... I wonder how long until I just default to using the printer to solve all problems instead of sticking to the grass roots plumbing fittings and hot glue 🤔

Excellent piece of scientific testing equipment to assess the true water flow of water pumps. Hopefully, you can capitalize on some improvements. I only run my highbankers on bilge pumps, and any savings in running time and efficacy are important to me. I hope bilge pump manufacturers are watching. Keep up the research Kyle!🔬⚗📡🪛🔧👍👍👍
