Lets goooo. I ordered headlights the same day I bought my Taco too 🙃. Not a fan of the taillights, so I eventually changed those too. Honestly the biggest change you'll see is with tires and a lift, I think you can only get to about 31" tires without rubbing before you need a lift too.
@Smeedia I quickly realized this once I started working at Toyota. It's even easier if you have access to TIS. It give exploded interactive wiring diagrams for everything on anything toyota or lexus.
@@DaRkAnGeL-si7fcboth are solid units and can’t go wrong with either. I will say the Tacoma is way more useable and versatile but def no where near as quick 😅
As a toyota tech, honestly if I wanted a truck as a daily,I would definitely go for a tacoma, super easy to work on,easy to modify and parts are readily available
Looks good! I had a Tundra and it was the first time I ever did "mods" I did the TRD Pro grill, front level, and some nice 20x10's with KO2's. It was sick and got me hooked on doing my own mods
Loving those headlights, remind me a lot of the 2020-2023 "Premium" headlights Tacomas got. Also be glad you got a Taco without the front radar, don't gotta deal with the all that nonsense.
Front end looks great! I'd keep the grill lights... but then again, I'm a sucker for the Ford Raptor which made those lights iconic. :) Now it's time to replace your tail-lights and get some sequentials there to tie in the entire Taco. :)
The lights and grille look great. Classy & pops at the same time. Just picked up a 23 TRD Sport myself a couple months ago and will be doing some mods to it myself.
Absolutely love seeing the mods start on your taco! I wish i had more funds to put into mine but in due time. Cant wait to see the end result, itll be so sick!
If you haven't already gotten a filter cup socket then you'll want to make sure you get a decent one. The cheap ones can slip more often than the better made ones. I have a Matco one that I bought off a truck when I worked at the dealer and it was about $40 if I remember correctly.
The dude I got my FXT from with the 04 STI ordered a brand new 21 or 22 Tacoma I believe, it was a few years ago. He got it in almost a Nardo Grey, the thing is beautiful. I don't know what he specc'd it out with when he ordered it, but it's got a lot of bells & whistles. A set of black housing headlights goes a long way.
I am early yet again. I just would like to say I appreciate the channel a lot because its what allowed me to get into modifying cars> Im now full bolt on and have an sti swap that's going into my wrx next month.
Nice clean look. 👌 For overlanding probably want a bull bar, winch (rope not cable), and a light bar/ spotlight. Maybe some nerf bars if you go up in tire size, you're short
Heritage grill on a non TRD pro is the taco equivalent of a sti wing on a wrx 🥲 just playing, tbh i dont know why they don’t just sell all of them like that from factory, literally everybody swaps to the heritage because it looks so damn good!! 😮💨 that’s my favorite color taco.
They just look so much better than the other options 😅 the grey was one of the 4 colors I wanted 🔥 was feeling the white, grey, khaki and the weird green they’ve got 🙌
@@Smeedia I have a white one and while I do really like it, it gets kinda boring after a while 😂 I definitely think you made the right choice! Overall though it’s hard to go wrong. Those are all solid colors
I've had my truck for 12 years, and still hesitate to do the chrome delete, you buy something and change everything out the next day. lol. I do like the Taco, wish I bought it vs my F150.
Diode Dynamics SS3 for fogs, street legal LED pods and they have mounting brackets for most vehicles. i have 3 sets and pretty much never need high beams anymore.
@@Smeedia I've been able to persuade a few friends with Tacomas into getting them and they love them. Tight beam, and super wide. If you ever go for them get the Pros.
Love you man.... OEM upgrade is OLM? Guess mangan is an upgrade for F1 teams? The orange lights technically aren't allowed on most normal trucks. It's based off size/weight of truck. The orange lights on trucks are becoming clear tails on civics back in the day.
The classic Toyota grill is always something I wanted to do to mine. Was too scared to mess up the radar cruise calibration and what not. Looks so much better than the chrome! (Twin turbo soon?!?! just sayin)
@@Smeedia I did two other OEM+ mods to mine. I installed hood struts ($40K truck and still had a prop rod..wtf) and a ram-ball mount plate that screws in above the radio. super stealth, totally worth it.
That looks soo much better! For fogs if you haven't already purchased I've got a couple rigs with diode dynamics on and I love them and recommend! Did you check out those local 4x shops I mentioned that are creator friendly?
@@Smeedia dude trust me, I’ve owned 2 off roads (that model year) you need to get the transmission tuned. It constantly up shifts too early and hunts all the time not knowing what gear to be in. Look into it
@@Smeedia I found a local guy near me who had an ecu flash software. I believe it was called VF tuner, the tune itself was orange virus. Years ago I saw some tuners also using the accessport from Cobb. As for what’s used these days and what tune is better, I’m not sure.
Shine the lights into your other car before you angle them up, don't wanna be one of those guys blinding everyone else... Also, any mystery wires in the Taco? Every other car has had some lol
So when does the Magnuson Supercharger come in? Morimoto has nice foglights for the tacoma for about $200. They fit in the stock location, so its a full replacement.
@Smeedia you aren't lying lol. Shopping for has been a pain because they are basically selling for msrp if they are at least a 2021. Hard to justify buying used at new car price. Love the headlights and new grill. Kudos for trying a new platform to work on!
Pretty disappointed, here was thinking I’d be sitting there in April watching videos about gc8 clone, cool Grb , awesome ils should Gd , amazing VB , but no it’s a truck Chanel now 😢
Keep big wings on your STIs and keep the lights on the Toyota grills. Do what your 8 year old self would have wanted. All the spoilers. All the lights. Crazy much of a difference a facelift makes on this truck. It’s like they only have the stock grill so they can make money off people buying the nicer TRD one 😂
