I can't get over how smooth this V8 is. I can't even feel it running. When I turn the truck off, I feel nothing. It's unbelievable even with 310k miles.

15mpg mixed seems to be where our UZ engines like to be. She sounds happy. I wish my MR2T got 15mpg but since the turbo upgrade, I’m lucky to see 12mpg.

Hi Tim, nice recap on your truck. I have an 04 V8 I've been refurbishing, I was lucky enough to score one of those bug deflectors out of Milton, it's locked in a vault right now until my truck is on the road. The last thing to go on my truck is stainless steel exhaust then a safety. I waited a hole year to the day to get my exhaust from Burtman Industries. I also have an 2011 Tacoma. I like the price on the fridge, that seems like a real decent price point.

sick runner i just picked up a rust free 2006 SR5 4Runner but its a rare 2wd version. Its ok it will tow my cargo 6x10 trailer I camperized and commute me to n from work. 4 liter v6.

Great build man it really looks just about perfect. Do you think you could run the same size tire on a -10mm offset rim of the same dimensions (17 x 8.5)?

For reference: I have a 2007 4.7L bone stock 4Runner with 216,000 miles on it and get about 17.9-18.6 mpg on 50/50 city/highway driving on essentially stock tires with no lift. At least this is what the mpg computer tells me. I have not checked it manually in a while. This guys paint is way way better than mine.🙂

I have been debating whether or not I wanted to get the BFGKO2 tires or not, but after this video, I think I am going to go with the Duratrecs!

I recommend taking off the rear top fender flairs to check and see if you have rust. I accidently knocked mine off this winter and found rust holes in the body.

Awesome 4Runner. I have an 06 Sport Edition, the same color as you and man, I think it's one of the best colors Toyota has made. I also have the V8 4WD (When car shopping there was the one I have with a V8 and another same year but V6, I test drove the V8 first then V6. I immediately ran back to the V8 haha) Another thing and correct me if I am wrong but I did some research about the 2006 4runners and I came across an article and it said that the 2006 models had 2 styles. The first half of the 2006's had the square fog lamps, Headlights were not the projection type, fender moldings were painted grey and really looked like cheap plastic and the tail lights were not LEDs. About halfway into the 2006 models Toyota did a refresh, fog lights became the big round ones, projection headlamps, fender moldings were body paint matched and the rear tail lights became LEDs. I have the refreshed model and so do you and it looks way better than the pervious look. I like to think/say that I have the 06 and a half 4Runner. (sorry mustang owners lol) The only 2 things that I can remember right now is I wished mine could have came with was the JBL sound system, I really like how the sub and amp is in the wall of the inside of the trunk. And the 2nd thing is Auto headlights from day/night, night/day. It's no biggie but I have to manually switch on headlights at night then off in day. I do see a pilot hole next to the temperate sensor. I looked how much it would cost me to purchase this and then then I saw all the work you have to do and I said "Never mind" haha

I thought all V6 are PT 4wd and V8 is 4wd all the time. But is there such V8 that is not 4wd? Love what you did to your truck

my biggest gripe about this generation is that the aftermarket support is very limited. everything under the sun for gen 3 and 5, but 4....not so much

Theirs a 2006 v6 available in my town for 6k has 230ish miles is it worth it I really wanna get a 4runner I really like the 3rd gen and really like the look of your 2007 more modern.. need opinions 👍

Who know from which year V8 models had Stability Off button? I have 2008 V6 and if I'll hold button for 3 seconds, I'm switching ATRAC off. Searching this feature on V8 model

Does the Bug Deflector work on pre-facelift 4Gens? Pre-facelift Deflectors are not offered on the site you linked (from what I can see). Cant imagine the dimensions would be different since one can make their pre-facelift 4Gen take past facelift lights and filler plates.

Someone else prob mentioned this but that fridge must be steel to mount crap to it.

Aluminum isn't typically magnetic.... otherwise, very nicely upgraded and looking 4Runner... I'd definitely address those rust spots before they get out of hand though. My poor 97 GMC SBSC K1500 I bought secondhand had already been "left to rot" so now, with an otherwise clean, straight, rarer/wanted truck, it needs thousands of dollars in rust repair, if only the previous owner had addressed it prior to it getting that bad 🙄

What a beautiful 4runner. I have an 06 but but it is just a regular old SR5. .... However, mine is a one owner southern GA truck. You have to look hard to find any rust anywhere. I notice a pretty good amount of rust on your frame underneath. I grew up In WI so I know what that dang salt can do to a vehicle. Especially on some Toyotas. But anyway, you have a rare model there, looking great. A keeper for sure.

I've been looking At a v8, lower mileage (sub 150) 4th gen 4R, and with these prices is it really worth it over a 3rd gen tacoma which isn't necessarily my first pick as well as a 2nd gen tacoma, all of these prices for lower mileage 4R and 2nd gen taco are about the same as a used 3rd gen taco and I am a little timid about it so if someone would like to give me a biased opinion it'd be appreciated

Is 4runner available in canada or only in usa?

I don’t think that spare tire will work with the atrack system. Spare needs to be same size. I could be wrong but if not I would shed the weight until you get at least a hitch spare tire holder. I was told by tire shop guy I would do damage to transmission with smaller spare. If I am wrong I would love a lighter spare tire than the 35 inch bastard I always hall around and rarely need.
