So I’m trying to convince myself that I don’t need to go on a glittery watercolour shopping spree. Let’s just say watching this was counterproductive 😂. Thanks for sharing your favourites!
My absolute favorite glitter product is Mod Podge glimmer and extreme glitter. They are a clear product, so you can put it over a colored area, they cover large areas well, and the glitter pieces are very fine. It's also reasonable in price.
I bought Coliro paints because of one of your earlier videos and LOVE THEM. They are on the pricier side, but so worth it. If anyone reading the comments is second guessing if they're worth the price tag, they are. Beautiful results and will last you for ages :)
I've been excited about this video. Like you I love shiny sparkly things. I love stickles and have quite a few of them. I've got the gold gel and used it for the first time on at the weekend on a moon in a colouring book. I've now put all of those Decoart mediums on my wishlist, your such an enabler 😂 I've also recently bought a swatch book and I'm really enjoying swatching everything. Xxx
Hi K, I love when you share your favorites and hauls with us. Thank you for putting out great videos. I have some of the products you showed in the video. I love the metallic paints too. They add a great pop of shine! The arteza pens seem nice,I'm thinking I need them. I did not realize they had so much sparkle. Than you and take care 🌺
Fantastic useful video, thank you so much! I'm quite new to the world of colouring so I've only been using pencils and gel pens so far but you've really inspired me to try lots of other mediums, as your pictures are so stunningly beautiful. I'm definitely going to treat myself to some metallic paints, they look gorgeous.
Wonderful glitter mediums! I love applying glitter on my colouring books too. Also so much inspiration I took from you, when I saw your Lulu Mayo colouring books, with confettis, just wow 🤩 I wanted to order signo glitter gel pens, but was deciding between these and sakura gelly roll pens. Or I could get both maybe 😄
I LOVED this video, K! Sparkly and shimmery make me smile and relax. Even a bit giggly haha. I need that at almost 54. Ha. We share a birthday month I think - July 5 for me. I never finish a page now without using glitter paint, glitter gels, or glitter glue. Thx for sharing you favs and that tip abt letting the paint sit a few minutes to get creamy. I hope all is well with you & yours. Have a good day/night haha
Loved this video K, so helpful and informative with tips on how to use the metallic water colours especially. Thank you so much for sharing your fav sparkle mediums with us all. ❤️xo
Little tip for stickles…put a small drop on the top of the lid then you have an easy quick look at what it actually looks like dry (just saw you don’t have Glisten in your swatches of them so grab that you’ll LOVE IT)
Love this K! I really want to try Clear Ice Comet. You might have it already, but the new Coliro Bling set (on calligraphy arts UK) is absolutely gorgeous, I'm using them in a Hanna Karlzon to do jewels and they're wonderful!
Oh my Marie! You’ve just enabled me and as I’m back from a hard day at work, I just ordered that bling set, it looks great. Thank you - just had to get it 😊😍
@@ColouringwithK Awesome! You're so right too, they really only work great if you wet them and leave them alone for a good few mins. This set is so pretty, I think you'll love it too! At the moment I think it's the only UK place selling it, I've not seen it on RU-vid yet either, so I'll look forward to you haul video! You've enabled me right back, I've ordered some clear ice comet! Have a great weekend, don't work too hard 🤗
Stumbled on your video via YT recommendations, I have to say, your colouring in is absolutely stunning, I used to colour in but not for a long time now as I don't have all those amazing products you have, mine was just plain old coloured pencils, quite boring really plus I've never seen such beautiful colouring books before. May I ask where you got them, especially the hard back books with the fairies (I love fairies) and what would you recommend to use for a beginner (because you have given me a notion to start again) to buy for colouring...pens, pencils, brand etc.....I don't have a lot of money to spend, I do have pencils but no glitter etc? Thank you for sharing, subbed for more inspiration 😊
Hi there, Hannah Karlzon hard back books can be obtained from Amazon or Book depository. The fairy touch of magic is from Etsy but it will be expensive, the author is Klara Markova. I would get one set of pencils, Arteza / Brutfuner square are nice. Maybe a couple of stickles - a clear one eg diamond/stardust and a gold and silver. Maybe a small metallic palette of paints or sparkly gel pens like the Pentel dual metallic hybrid. That should start you off nicely!
Loved the video! What would you say it’s your favorite and most versatile Coliro watercolors? I want to buy a few open stock but like the Stickles, there must be some basic ones to get started on!
I would get the Coliro Arabic or Inca gold, the blue pearl and cinnamon as they are stunning colours. The gold is versatile as you can use it for accents anywhere and the blue pearl will be great for wings / highlights on glass.
thank you! I'm learning so much from your videos. I was wondering what is the black paper swatch book you used in earlier videos? I love how the metallic paints look on black paper
Hi, I do not have lots of $ but I need something that would be iridescent on angel wings. I would like something that shines like a pearlescent. You are the artist that has it all and your pages are unreal. What would you suggest I get without breaking my bank????? Thank you so much! I live everything you do!
I would use some sort of iridescent acrylic or watercolour paint - I would suggest using Coliro blue pearl which you can buy open stock as a single from places like Jackson’s art or even Arteza iridescent paints
I love your videos!! Do you prep your pages in Lulu Mayo books? The pages are so beautiful and I am struggling with how to go about them. Thank you...)
I don’t usually prep my Lulu Mayo pages. I use pan pastel or chalk pastel for the background as the paper in those books don’t really like water. I use acrylic glitter over the pastel sometimes. Most of the picture will just have pencil in - I love using Arteza, Lightfast and Prisma in those books.
Can I please ask how you prep your backgrounds/pages for wet products like metallic paints, Deco Art products, stickles gels/glues & other pastes? Also if you’re applying any of those products on top of colored pencils/marker do you need to use a (workable) fixative BEFORE hand to stop any color running??
I only prime my pages with Gesso/satin glazing liquid for a few pages and I still use watercolour metallic paints, Deco art and other projects on better quality colouring paper which has not been primed (I.e. not Amazon printed paper). I don’t use a fixative between layers on primed paper, it doesn’t seem to need it. If I’ve used wet media, I just let it thoroughly dry and then add more layers/product
@@ColouringwithK thank you for the response I don’t the money to afford all sorts of paper so whatever my pic is on is what I’m stuck with and yah sure I could copy/print at home but yup can’t afford printer ink either
What do you use to protect the pages? I got a sample of metallic watercolour but it rubs off when touched. I’m worried what will happen when I close the books. Thankyou
If the paint has been made correctly, it should not rub off but if it does you can put a matte or gloss gel medium over it so it doesn’t transfer. I also use cheap tracing paper to put between my pages and some colourists use great proof paper from Amazon. You can use either.
@@ColouringwithK thank you. Its a dot card from an Etsy seller of metallic watercolour (I think it was on your channel I discovered it). I will do some samples first as I’m worried using a brush might smear it.
