Labor and delivery nurse here, most of us WANT you to record. I LOVE taking pictures and videos of both the parents. But with that being said, sometimes hospitals have specific protocols/rules. But most of the time, we don't follow that dumb rule. We want you to have those memories. 😊♥️

If nurses weren’t comfortable with me recording MY birth, them not allowing me to give birth the way i wanted to is more uncomfy to me. And if something were to go wrong because of the doctors, I would absolutely want that on camera.

My papa (grandpa) recorded my mom giving birth to me back in 1998. It’s a beautiful video to look back on, passing the camera around n word/advice for the new baby is sucha sweet moment/message. So happy and excited for you guys ❤

bio oil is amazinggggg. whenever anyone asks about what to use for scarring i always say bio oil. i have dermatillomania and my shoulders are where i pick the most and the scarring was awful it’s helped tremendously

I am a labor and delivery nurse and i would say almost all of my coworkers love when people record! We do have policies saying everyone has to give consent to be recorded, i have had patients set up cameras all the time! The only thing we don’t allow is tripods(im not sure the reason). You can try calling the unit and ask for the policy on recording during delivery. Hope this helps🫶🏽

My doctor was super relaxed and encouraged photos and recordings. When he got my daughter out he told my husband to get the camera ready lol and posed with her too 😅 I ended up in the ICU from heart failure and almost passing. So it really meant a lot to me having those fun photos because I was away from her for pretty much the first 7 days of her life. She’ll be three this year and she’s absolutely beautiful

If this isn't too much to ask- how much did you weigh while pregnant?? I'm scared of this happening. I'm a size 16 (I think this is plus size) and I'm 220 pounds. I'm 9 weeks and just worried about my weight and heart

@@marygarcia2814 I was probably 300lbs at the very end. I didn’t gain a lot of weight until the very end. I would just suggest to eat as healthy as you can and stay active! I didn’t have high blood pressure or anything during my pregnancy. But I had a very difficult birth where my daughter got stuck coming out so they had to do an emergency cesarean. I had a lot of blood loss and then had to get a blood transfusion. So I think it was just all those things combined. I wasn’t super healthy nor super unhealthy. But if I ever have another baby, I’d make sure to stay active. You got this mama! Don’t worry 🥰

The nurses at the hospital I gave birth at were so welcoming to videos and photos. They even offered to do it for us so dad could be included. Don't stress I hope they're all for it!

Hi queen! Love your vids! I know you talk about ur skin care and I saw a vid that using makeup applicators like the one you have for foundation can contaminate ur makeup and contribute to ur skin blemishes. They suggest putting it on the back of your hand instead of directly on your face. Just a thought- not sure how accurate but thought I would share!

Honestly imo if a hospital doesn’t let you film BIG red flag. The hospital I had my son at was literally horrific. Wouldn’t even let me take pictures with nurses in the room. And I get why, they were AWFUL to me and my husband. The hospital I had my daughter at was amazing, my nurses were recording my birth. Taking pictures, doing all the things. Big big red flag if they’re not letting videos imo

When my friend was giving birth her hospital also didn’t allow videos being taken, but they let her slide because she brought in a nurse appreciation basket before asking to film🤣

I had my son in July and I also used to work as a labor and delivery nurse, so I kind of feel like I have my foot in both camps to give you advice! My motto is ask for forgiveness, not permission 🫢 you’re exactly right you could totally film it with an iPhone and just say you’re taking pictures. I took my GoPro and hooked it on the side of my hospital bed with a bend-y tripod and recorded everything and I honestly don’t even think people noticed it or really knew what it was. Even if every single person in the room says it’s cool there’s could be one nurse or Dr who isn’t on board and that would just stink. I say if you film pretty casually and don’t make it a big deal you should be fine. I think as a nurse it’s also more awkward to tell people to stop filming once they’ve already started than to just tell them no from the start. And if somebody was filming, it wasn’t like I was gonna go and make them delete the video that they took. Good luck!

The recording is at the hospital’s discretion. What you’re recording as a patient can go against HIPPA just ask for the policy in writing and they will give it to you. Hope this helps

I wasn’t able to record my birth back in august 2022😢 I really wanted to!! We were able to record everything other than when I had to start pushing they made me turn off my camera and was only able to take pictures during that time

I work in the NICU at my hospital but I am cross trained be at deliveries to do a baby’s first assessment and help mom with breastfeeding/skin to skin at birth. I feel like it depends on the staff but I don’t know of any hospital policy that specifies whether you can or can’t record your birth. 9 times out of 10 it’s always been okay for the deliveries I’ve been a part of. Like you said, unless we have an emergency or need to rush you for a stat section we don’t mind!! It makes me sad to hear it’s not the same at other places 😢

Last year I had an emergency c-section I was never told at all during my hospital experience that we could not take video or pictures. It was actually very sweet one of the nurses in the operating room took my husbands phone to take pictures of us meeting our baby for the first time.

My mum has a camera that you can take photos on while your recording so for my sisters birth she was actually recording + taking photos made it so much easier because my sister wasn’t allowed to have videos but photos were okay she ended up with both 😂❤️
