Best series ive watched in a while in regards to the information and explainations. Shame about the files on the rear setup. A video about that would be awesome, maybe a bit about single vs double triangulation aswell
I've been hanging out for the next vid and you didn't disappoint. Great video! Bump steer is the biggest issue in my cruiser and now I know what I'm looking for in the geometry.
Great videos mat very detailed, awesome build very keen. My question is how do you get something like this engineered? If I was to go coil conversion can I weld everything together myself in my shed and then get it checked over?
Speak to an engineer before you start doing anything, go through it all with them so whatever you plan on doing they’re okay with, how they want it done etc. then it’ll be a lot easier at the end of the
Always so many questions after one of your videos 😂 Firstly, could you have lifted the diff end to raise your roll centre? Secondly, did you consider a triangulated 3 link to raise your roll centre and reduce flex steer? And now i cant remember my other 2 questions. Haha Anyway, loving the build. Cant wait to see more.
I couldn’t raise the panhard mount on the diff, because already at full uptravel the panhard will potentially foul on the chassis when flexing. Although I would have liked to! For simplicity I didn’t want a 3 link in the front, with long flat radius arms at ride height there will be little to no wheelbase change through their full range, so should be fine there.
Fitting a watts link in the front would be a nightmare with all the extra things moving around. Would be especially difficult to minimise bump steer as it would move in a different line to the steering arm.
@mattkinsela ah yep cool was allways curious why they went pan hard rather then 3 link systems or watts link. So that also why j arms are used on leafs
@mattkinsela yeah but that's how I get excitement in the city, what way will be go this time. The torque rod is needed due to the lux's having rear shackles which is why front shackles was a thing.
I'm just here to say that right handed people don't know how hard it is for left handed people to write on a whiteboard without rubbing it out as you go lol
