This mans feel, choice of notes and phrasing are up there with the best, in my opinion. that opening section sounded great and it carried on throughout the video.
Truly, you are one of the finest players I know of currently. you possess dynamics in your playing that I haven't heard in another player for a long time. wonderful playing! Never stop!
One thing I really admire about Rabea is that he goes to the depth of getting the best out of whatever the piece of gear he comes across. No wonder he gets the best tones compared to any other youtuber.
Rabea a huge Thank you for Grinding Gears and a special thank you for "First Kontakt" Ive had it on repeat for 2 days now its nuts. Love the channel it's such a great variety of tones and everything a guitar player would want. Be proud man.
I always enjoy listening to you play Rebea! One of your guitar lessons you did with Mysicisum inspired one of the new songs our band Fatal Laceration recently finished writing!
These are stellar! Can I ask a question on the QC, Rabea? How do you set your input level? Do you boost the level to reach -12/-9dB or just leave it at 0? The guys at Neural suggested to boost any guitar such that the level reaches .9/-12dB. But isn't that like having an always on boost pedal? I don't want my strat to sound like a Jackson when I virtually "plug" it into a plexi sim, for instance. What's your take on this?
Thanks man! Honestly I just plug in. My signal chain is XLR out into my interface, and I just set the master volume knob around 75/80. I guess I don’t even look at the input level. Not sure how much that helps!
@@RabeaMassaad That helps massively, because it tells me you don't boost the input. Also, the master volume knob would've been my next question. Thanks!
An entire album In icicles ambient please and take my money. Not overstating it by saying you are one of the finest guitarists in the world, cheers Rabea.
To me, these are some of the best sounds I've ever heard from a modeler. Recently, Martin Miller has made available some of his presets to all platforms - for a fee. It would be amazing if you could replicate some of your presets for the Axe-Fx, Kemper, etc. You have a special ear for tone, so forward and present!!
Hi, I've got my QC for few days, I've tried these presets, have you same sound at home Herb? For me, this is strange, sounds bad :/ I use Headrush Frfr 108 monitor in stereo, I don't understand... thanks in advance for your response :-)
@@pascalcucchi6918 I didn't download all of them, but for the ones I downloaded and tried out they sound about the same. I have to play with pickups and tone knobs some times. I have found in some, and the JUSCOS one, it's stuff layered on top of each other and I can't figure out what is supposed to be turned on and working with what. The scenes aren't very helpful for me either, but I'm very new to this whole thing so it could very well just be me.
Sweet as usual Bea! Are you playing straight out through any studio monitors, if so can I ask who’s monitors they are, they sound pretty clean. Cheers!
Sounds great. I’m tempted to buy one as a different flavour to my FM3. If only there was a big commercial capture market - 8 months on though it’s still pretty quiet. If I re buy a Kemper I can fill it with Top Jimi profiles and be really happy. I miss his Paul Gilbert modded Marshall which was the sound in my head. If he was doing QC profiles I’d definitely jump in.
Bea, That F’n right hand around 5:40. How in the actual F do you get that wrist so loose?! I got your hybrid technique down on the covers I did of yours on my channel, but that Chugga shit you do man! I’d forfeit a nut! 😂
Great vid, Rabea! Would you be able to put the tuning that you are playing in somewhere in the video? maybe in the upper corner or in the details section? That would be awesome!
What make is that killer birds eye maple beast? Looks like a Jackson headstock with an Ibanez body. Great demo, loved the raunchy stuff, wish they would bring the price a bit closer to an FM3 though...
Hello Rabea, what about the QC after one year out in the market. Would you still recommend it (do you use it regularly) or is it still in the beta phase. Thanks and Greetings, Fredy
I’d like to achieve much of this with pedals as I already have a few but not everything to make dreamy ambient music eg preset 5. Also, I don’t really do computers and prefer a physical thingy with knobs to control. I need suggestions please.
The best thing I can suggest is a Line 6 POD HD500X, a.k.a. The Poor Man's Axe FX. Works just as good as an Axe FX for like $1500 cheaper, incredibly versatile as well.
This is huge ask, also I should already expect this capability. Are you able to control other pedals (reverb pedals, delay etc) via midi thru the Quad as a controller. I’ve only seen examples of controllers like MC6 controlling the Quad.
Question: Would you buy the Quad Cortex or the Eventide H9? Does this remove the need for an H9 (or similar) or are they totally different and you need them both?
hey sir, hope all is well..I bought a Quad Cortex, really because I love the way it sounds and how you sold it for me on multiple videos...I waited 9 months for it to arrive, and it sounds fantastic throughout my Focal shape 65 monitors...however, I can not use it as an audio interface to record...I get zero signal no matter what I do..super disappointing..any suggestions?
Hey Rabea can u please tel us if the quadcortex effect can be as good as analog..? like Big sky versus quadcortex reverb ? Please because analog pedalboard are really unconvenients and i'm asking if i should keep tube amp and go for quad cortex effects. Thx
Thanks for asking this man. Sadly the days of matt and I doing sound like has gone. It’s been amazing few years doing it. But now things have changed I guess, for me, I may go back and do more but I’m not sure just yet
Hi Rabea, super nice demo and great tones, but there is way toooooo much reverb and delay on your voice, when introducing.... no offense at all meant....
There was never a problem with switching. People got mistaken between scene switching (no gap) and preset switching (gap) this is the same for most modellers. Scene switching is usually the way most people use modellers and therefore avoid the gap in sound
@@RabeaMassaad Ahhh.. Awesome. Thank you man. Well.. I'm officially on the wait list. Now to wait until June or July (ouch!! haha). Thanks again, can't wait to get it and load up your tones!
@@RabeaMassaad THe problem with this is like for example, I love your one preset for solos, then I love your other preset for rhythm. switching between these presets during shows is tough because of the gap. I hope QC finds a way to fix this. After downloading so many presets by artists, I want my solo preset to be Rabea's then I want my crunch to be Cory Wong's. Can't do this with that gap.
@@RabeaMassaad I got mine early, hell yeah! I didn't really understand how it worked at first, but I see what you're talking about now. No problem at all!! Grabbing some of your presets now! Thanks again man.
it's decent. Sims still aren't there though man I dont know theres always that thing missing listen to Paul David's comparison of his real Matchless DC 30 and his Kemper video on good headphones and you'll realize how far in the dust we still are from the real thing
Bea presets I'm Using my new q.c with a guitar cab and out of amp return, I've turned the cab SIM off but the overdrive , distortion tones sound awful on his presets, I've had to make a evh one from stock and edit it.
