But, just like there are some ppl who watched the video and had an issue with it, some of us read the comments of ppl saying some hateful mean-ass shit about a life that’s not even theirs and had an issue with that. While some people didn’t like her word choice or what she had to say about her mom, some of us didn’t like the fact that ppl were judging someone else - when she was brave enough to share a story that was so personal - and didn’t like what was being said about her. That was OUR response to THEIR response when reading the comment section. WE just thought WE would express OUR own thoughts and share how WE feel.

It's amazing that you think that her drug addicted mother was doing her a favor by taking her to the hospital. That was her duty as the " mother" . She didn't choose to be born. She ditched her responsibility as a mother. She made the choice to do drugs during the pregnancy and after . Obviously she was doing it before. Because if she quit during the pregnancy. Termination would have happened most likely. So. The fact that you guys are mind numbingly iggnerant to make the comment " at least she didn't leave you in the hood or at least she took you to the hospital. " It's amazing how ignorant you all are. I was adopted at 13 years old. I was raped and beat and sold as a prostitute by my dad. But I am not sitting here bashing her story. Because we all have different stories. I just thank God she is alive and healthy and happy. I'm grateful I am too. Don't judge someone's story because it's different from your own. At least she didn't have to go through trauma. And she has enough courage to tell her story.

I in no way bashed Leesie's story. Her story is amazing. What I actually said was that it was amazing that her birth mother had enough presence of mind to take her to a hospital, considering that she was probably in an altered mental state due to the drug usage. That is amazing. And it was a decision that the woman made that lead to Leesie's amazing dad meeting her and her parents adopting her. And after reading the bit of your story that you shared, it's amazing that you're alive as well. I wish you nothing but good things. Peace.

Richiey, I 100% agree. I know what it’s like to be in an altered state of mind from prolonged drug use, and imo the mother should be acknowledged and respected for her part in Leesie’s story (and her clarity of mind in that situation). Addiction is definitely a brutal disease & illness. And even if a mother (or addict in general) wants to get clean or stay sober, withdrawals or trauma in itself can be enough to go back to or stay on drugs. Im glad almost everyone is happy & healthy (& safe / with hopefully minimal trauma) in this situation. I do hope her birth mother is clean & happy/healthy too. Even if chances are that she may not be..❤️‍🩹🖤❤️

Leesie Pinto I went from living in the hood in NY to the suburbs of MN, I didn’t feel offended by you saying that, it’s rough living there lol. I think it’s sad if people mistook you saying you didn’t want to live in that environment to you saying the people there are less than.

Leesie Pinto as far as I know, its okay to be angry to your birthmom until later you feel free. It will be a problem if you not after what she did. My bestfriend faced almost same situation as you. Her father leave her and her mother when she was young. Everything seems okay for many years until later at 21, she have a very weird behaviour and cant live a normal life. She then visit phsyciatrist and the phsy said it all happened because the anger she have toward her dad didnt come out. The phsy said its okay to be angry. What not normal and can cause damage is if she not angry. So based on my friend's story and yours in comparison, I think you have a good happy normal life because you can express your feeling toward your birthmom freely not hold it like my friend. Im very happy for you Leesie. . . Note: sorry for probably many wrong spelling or grammar. English is my 3rd language😂

Just want to comment that not all drug addicts are bad people. Many are good people in a hard situation. I was a junkie until I got pregnant at 29 and I got help, methadone and have taken good care of my daughter as a single mom for 12 years. She is the light of my life and I love her more than words can say. I couldn't stop for me, but I had to for my daughter. Many addicts I knew were the kindest most beautiful souls I've met. Not every addict are like the obvious you see on the streets or in the media. I never stole or behaved bad to others than my self and my mom even then said and a social worker I knew, both said they would trust me with their money and children... I say it because so many look at addicts as people with no morals, willing to hurt who ever to get the next shot. I know those addicts that are like that, wants you all to think that that's how every addict is like. But that's just not true. Because being addicted costs a lot of money and takes a lot of time and often makes addicts having to be around strangers and unstable people sometimes, no responsible addict will let a child grow up with an addicted parent. Many addicts would love to be parents more than anything, but they know that it takes more than being clean, all the things a child needs, takes time to build up and also stable people and all of that. Without help in the beginning , it for many realistically feels their child will have a better chanse with a couple that already have all the material things and time a child needs. Even if they much more wanted to change and raise their child by them selves. I had a friend I shared room with that every night talked in her sleep.. It was so often about her adopted baby. She cried and talked to her baby and at night, I felt awful to listen in on her private dreams, but it was so obvious she was longing for her child she wanted but gave up. Everyone without my doctor wanted me to give up my child too. They first wanted and pressured me to abort even at three months, I felt mean for not being able to abort her... I m so glad I followed my heart and tried my best. After her birth, I never even smoked weed or any drugs. The hard part for me was to have to prove I was good enough to so many people, being a mom was natural for me. I had more problems with my confidence and when school started, I had to learn from Google maths and things I didn't know how to teach her.. Thankfully we have family and friends to support us and love us and we also are in contact with other moms in our situation that also are doing very well. There are a lot of us, but no one would guess, most of the time about our backgrounds. Wish people understood a bit more and didn't assume or judge or think every addict were scum unable to feel empathy to others and just be careless and bad people. Not every addict are like dirty trailer trash.. Or screaming weirdos... We don't know why that mom did what she did or what cind of person she was. Maby she was one of the careless people, but maby she wasn't...

NORTH Line I appreciate a story like yours, I completely understand that not all addicts are noticeable or bad people and the entire reason I came to that conclusion is because of the children who were abandoned (siblings) and how many kids who are forced to live in undesirable or cramped housing situations because of it. I say that she is very fortunate because she seemed like she was going to be in the absolute worst situation. There are a lot of addicts out there as you know who do end up hurting or killing their children, who sell off their kids eventually for drugs. There is a heartbreaking story on RU-vid of a young girl who was sold to a drug dealer for a couple hits of meth. Either way, it’s also extremely valuable to hear your personal story as well because it shines a light on addiction but in a different way, in a way that no one ever hears about, one that isn’t a complete horror story.

"the hood" refers to neighborhoods with mostly black occupants. Rather than "ghetto" which if it's where your birth mom was from it probably was. For example, my mom lives in the hood, but it's not a poor ghetto.

well i live in north carolina and they have programs that help you prepare to age out, ask your case work about it and see what they have to help. but really its up to your current foster parent(s) and your foster agency if they let you stay. mine didnt i just moved in with a family i was hired to nanny for the same day. i was a live in nanny for a few years

I’m sure you wouldn’t misuse it, but just wondering if doctors really get that perk. (Also, for your dad) As a doctor, how important was it for you that your kids engage in fitness, nutrition, cleanliness or other activities that promote healthy lifestyles, in general? What was one family vacation (you could tell us about) that was the most memorable?

Seeing people getting shot hearing people getting shot drug addicts going hungry watching your back every corner...I lived in the slums in Brazil than in the projects in Boston and let me tell you ...it was beverly hills competed to Brazil ...but it still sucked !!!! I live in suburbs now wayyy better
