I found it a creative and logical choice to have Clark not understand his fathers message since he wouldn't be able to speak that language. And that way it's a good plot point to have Clark learn it and uncover it's meaning.
He’s actually voiced by Jason Marnocha, a former RU-vid voice actor who’s gone on to voice Megatron in Transformers and the Demon King in Seven Deadly Sins.
Hard to believe that it's been more than 20 years since we last got a Superman animated series. Superman the Animated Series from the DCAU really set the standard and even created many aspects that have now become mainstays of Superman like Mercy Graves and Livewire who were original DCAU creations and My Adventures with Superman has done an amazing job so far. Here's hoping this won't be the only one we're getting in the near future.
What's even harder to believe is that their animation division keeps killing it, hit after hit. Whereas their live-action department delivers flop after flop.
I agree that the casting of Lois is very important. That's why I'm so excited Rachel Brosnahan was chosen for Superman Legacy. Her casting excites me as much as David Corenswet
The studio behind this is based out of Korea, but works exclusively on American productions. Their most popular show was Korra, but they also worked on Death of Superman, Batman Soul Of the Dragon, and Battle of the Supersons to name just a few
This show is just truly delightful. It truly captures the spirit of Superman while taking a unique spin on the Mythos. The reason Superman is essential in the world of comics is because represents the good and hope within all of us. Superman is kind, compassionate, understanding, he is gentle, he is teachable and is not afraid to show emotion and affection. In a universe filled with heroes with emotional baggage, Superman is an emotionally healthy hero who while still wrestles with his own demons, he still doesn't let those demons define him and he represents the goodness within all of us. The only thing in this show I think is not as compelling is the villains don't really feel that interesting or developed with one exception in episode 7. None of them feel particularly well explored or interesting and I'm not fan of all of their powers being the result of Kryptonian technology. And regarding Deathstroke, it's just a little hard for me to take him seriously when he sounds like Jerry from Rick and Morty and Cyril from Archer.
The animation is done by a South Korean studio called Studio Mir, they've teamed up with western companies for a lot of shows/movies like Legend of Korra, Voltron: Legendary Defender, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, and more.
I canNOT wait for y’all to catch up to the rest of the show, I was NOT expecting some of the cameos in the future episodes, I’m a big fan of this show, it’s super fun
So glad that you guys are reacting to this show! Not many reactors that I regularly watch have been and yet I feel that it really deserves the attention!
I'm so glad y'all are watching this show! I love it so much! I also like how the first, second last and last Polaroid's in the credits in most of the episodes are connected with however the episode ended. Those are fun to react to too.
I *love* this show, and am so thrilled you two are reacting to it! It's a lot of fun and very creative, but doesn't take itself too seriously. I've never been so invested in Clark as an actual character and not just an alter ego. The show keeps getting better episode by episode!
Not gonna lie this is a different take on Supes and certain characters but I can dig it. Plus the animation is pretty dope. Instead of making him dark and edgy they made Supes that guy who’s here for others. Because man you gotta love his humanity.
@@marcussantos4816 yeah definitely. I’m just annoyed that so many people seem to think that his “edge” or “easily turned evil Superman” was the norm. Or that Superman was boring because of how overpowered he was. Like that’s never what Superman was ever about, great that we’re actually going back to what made Superman popular in the first place.
@@nico-v113 I used to be one of those people who thought he was cool but overrated because how powerful he was too. Funny characters I didn’t care for when I was kid I do now because I had a good understanding of them.
Wow! You all couldn't have picked a more perfect episode to end this run on! And you guys are so giddy on their affectionate scenes! I really like the changes to the Superman story that they made. It's not the exact same story as every other one and Lois doesn't remain clueless for years!
The armored suit was called the Parasite 1.0. The man who made it and wearing it, is Dr. Ivo. No Lex Luthor this season. The assistant could be Alex Allston, one of the Parasite.
I'm loving all these animated DC projects you guys are watching. Outside of the DCAMU, these are all first time watches for me. So thank you Coy and John. Awesome reaction.
If you look back on the flashback of Superman’s past ( 15:41 ), there’s an interesting and logical story change they made. Krypton was a YELLOW sun but an enemy turned it red! This means that Krypton already knew the powers they had. It gives Superman’s suit much more meaning and importance to his original culture, not to mention a greater emphasis on the knowledge his digital father knows.
I sat next to one of the creative team members during their SDCC panel, and she told me that this show is planned to be just 2 seasons, and they have already created both seasons. Love the reaction! I'll have to catch up with the show before your next reaction!
I like that they went full anime style instead of half and half like most DC animation art style. I also usually not too keen of Superman's 'underwear on the outside' style suit, but I like this suit design a lot (is that a nanosuit or something?). I don't even mind his new, bio-electric whatever power.
@@kingofnonation5843no its his actual power, the makers on the show said they’re taking inspiration from Jon Kent in the comics (his son with blue electric powers as well) seems he can only tap in when he’s in great peril though! (Wasn’t trying to “correct “ you just wanting to share ❤️)
@@shawnwilcowski and I don't mean to sound like a jerk but can I get some kind of link to them saying that. Lots of commenters think that but I have googled have haven't found anything of them saying that's his power it's bioelectricity.
@@kingofnonation5843 it's definitely one of those lies that have been said so much that everyone believes them. People want to see references everywhere and at all the times, specially western only people that don't watch any anime and can't pick up the style and way anime normally conveys ideas. The show hasn't shown any indication that the lightning is the source of his power or that it can be used the way Jon Kent does in the comics.
WOW!!! You love us, RR, you really do!!! LMAO!!!! THANKS, folks!!!! The show has done the near impossible: take 85-year-old characters and make them *brand-new* !!! I watch the show with *no idea* what will happen next, which is a significant accomplishment!!!! Also, as someone who had to learn to love "Superman and Lois"'s changes/adaptations to canon, I have to admit I'm ridiculously happy to have a *Metropolis/Daily Planet*-centric Supes show again!!!!
It has yet to be revealed in the show, but I think Dr. Ivo's assistant is Lex. He is named "Alex", he is a red-head, scientist and doesn't like Superman. I'm guessing Amazotech is turned into Lexcorp.
What I've been asking for is Coy's follow up to the original Superman movie with Christopher Reeve. Can we get Superman 2, 3, & 4 with Coy? At least part 2 and if possible also the Donner Cut. That would be awesome!!
The end of E1 when Lois is headlocking Clark felt like when Rick was telling Morty about all the adventures they were going to go on after Rick convinces Morty's mom.
Jack Quaid is killing it as Superman and Alice Lee’s puts so much passion and enthusiasm into Lois’s voice! Ngl this take on Lois might be my favourite to date…
This show has been such a joy for the last few weeks. It wears it's anime influence on its sleeves and I love the fact they made Sups a total anime magical girl. And when you think about it he kind of always has been. Also I know Lois's interpretation is based on some of the more recent takes but it definitely works really well especially her formal attire for the party.
Finally you two are catching up with this show. I believe superman legacy will have the same tone as the show. I do like that it's drawn in the Shonen Manga style.
I honestly dig the new takes on Superman villains, with them being mostly tech-based. It doesn't bastardize the characters, imo. Edit: Not to mention this is one of, if the THE BEST, versions of Clark and Lois.
For real, the trio is almost if not better than Superman's presence itself, I am more focused on their development as friends than seeing Superman fighting and stuff, and not because that´s bad, it´s actually amazing, but Jimmy, Louis, and Clark are so well written that I´m all for it!
This show is like if you cross Superman and Avatar: The Last Airbender. The animation is close and Aang, or any Avatar is like Superman, Lois is like Katara, a love interest, and Jimmy is like Sokka, who knows more than you think, and the comic relief. I am really enjoying this one.
i finished the 10 episodes and i love it. this feels Superman and Lois and Jimmy. this show made me feel emotional every week. loving "Alex" working for Ivo; sets up potential for him later on. it's great. hoping for more.
SQUEEEEE!!!❤❤❤ I was hopping with everything I am y'all specifically would react to this amazing show. It's hands down my favorite take on superman of all time and my favorite non One Piece show of 2023! ❤❤❤ Great reaction! This already has a season 2.
