My Adventures with SUPERMAN Reaction!! Welcome back to the MontyVerse! Today we're diving into the exciting world of DC Comics with a reaction video for "My Adventures with Superman" Episode 1 and 2. I'm loving this show, so far. They've perfectly captured the spirit of Superman and his supporting cast for a new generation of fans. Also, the Jor El design is inspired by his recent comics appearance as Mr Oz, except he's old and bald in the comics.

The “Newskid Legion” is an homage to “The Newsboy Legion”, created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. Kirby incorporated them into the JIMMY OLSEN comic book in the 1970’s. Hope we see Jim (The Guardian) Harper.

Superman's suit when he came out of the light was Henry Cavill's suit design with the belt not connecting to the buckle. The pink shirt and kitten bit was from Superman the Movie. Clark is a combination of Chris Reeve, Dean Cain and Tom Welling. All in all, a solid start.

This series is essentially a love letter to the charaxcter of Superman and his history! I noticed so many more tiny details throughout both episodes that pay homage to Superman. Great catches and I appreciate you sharing them with me!!!

Nightwing and Flamebird were originally identities Superman and Jimmy Olsen took on when trapped in Kryptonian city of Kandor during silverage Dick Grayson took the name because Superman used it. The 1986 re boot changed it to be Kryptonian myth.

Lois almost always names Superman. That is why they interact. That justifies Lois being with Superman in the public eye.

I suspect the alien tech origins for villains in this series may be laying the groundwork for Intergang and either Brainiac or Apokolips/Darkseid. (I would love to see this conspiracy theorist version of Jimmy Olsen meeting the Forever People or Lori Lemaris.)

That is all possible! I can see very easily how all of these alien weapons being traded around can be the work of intergang. I do think the tech is part of the overarching story and it will lead back to whoever it was that destroyed Krypton in this universe.

Excited to see how this series plays out and it's refreshing to finally see a Superman animated series after so many years. Never thought I'd get a magical girl transformation sequence though 😂. Like you guys said the characterisations are slightly different but feel modern. The discovery of Clark's origin kind of gives me slight "Superman: Birthright" vibes but as there are no known childhood link between Lex and Clark established in this version of the story, I wonder how they'll delve into that aspect further.

All great points! I do agree that it does feel like "Birthright" in a lot of ways but I am also getting a lot of other comic influences as well! I am curious to see how the show handles Lex but I am excited that we are finally fleshing out more of Superman's Rogues!

You mentioned Christopher Reeve. The funny thing about his Clark Kent is that that movie is the Sipver Age Superman, so he is playing it ss if Clark is the secret identity and Superman is the true identity. But Christophrr Reeve always grasped that it's the values of the farm boy from Kansas that is the core of who Superman is. In the modern age, it's accepted that Clark Kent is the true identity, and Superman is a persina he takes on to keep people from realizing Clark is Superman. Reeve played up the bumbling goody two shoes aspect of Clark, but that's the core of who Clark is here. Its just not an act. Clark is just a nice guy who is a little corny and a little naive.

I loved the show so far and am really looking forward to more. My only complaint is how empty Metropolis feels. There are almost never background characters, and Metropolis is supposed to be a bustling, well, metropolis. I understand its a cost saving measure to not have to animate a bunch of people in the background, but it really stands out like a sore thumb to me every time they are on a city street and there is just no one around.

That is so wierd that you mentioned this because I thought this to myself during the scene where Flip gets Clark for help in episode 2. It didn't really bother me much with the jogging scenes because i figured it was 5 am but the scenes during the day it is noticeable. Hopefully they add more character models in future episodes but overall a very minor flaw for me!

These first two episodes were fantastic I have a feeling this show is gonna be awesome 🤘🔥, also I wonder with Slade Wilson/ Deathstroke appearing in this show , Vicki Vale getting a mention and Amanda Waller also appearing too I wonder if My Adventures With Superman is setting up a new modern day DCAU like how Batman The Animated Series started the original DCAU back in the day because if this is the case then this would be amazing !

I'm not 100% certain, but I think they might be using Esperanto again. In "Superman/Batman: Apocalypse", Kara arrived speaking Esperanto, and I'm not sure if that was standing in for Kryptonian or if it was supposed to be the assumed global language of Earth (because that's what it was designed to be). The way the Jor-El program/recording speaks in this show sounds Esperanto-like to my ears, so they might just be doing the same thing again. Someone who speaks Esperanto might be able to confirm or debunk this.

It's Esperanto, after reading your comment I translated 'son' from English to Esperanto in google translate and it said 'filo' which is what Jor-El says during their interaction.

@@blasianking4827 Cool! With Esperanto being fairly phonetically consistent and easy to spell by design, it would probably be possible to transcribe chunks of what Jor-El says and translate more of it.

There are a couple of ways to answer this but I think a lot of it is posture and psychology. You don't expect the most powerful being in the world to be the guy standing next to you so in your mind it doesn't click.

@@TheMontyVersetrue if you saw Clark in the street and then saw super man you wouldn’t recognize him, or if you’d meet super man and then Clark you’d think he look a little like super man, but if you actually met Clark Kent and then saw super man I feel like you’d immediately recognize his face.

The series is growing on me. I am seeing elements of VOLTRON LEGENDARY DEFENDER. Seeing how that series ended has me concerned for this one. I hope that they prove me wrong. That being said, it is enjoyable.

I like the new show, because i irritaded of media where Superman is evil or not so good guy, i think i'm a very boring person, because i like cliches and cliche heroes like Superman and that show describes him like a normal good guy, who just wants to help, even without any reward and i like the new designs of Lois and Jimmy because they look like Gus and Luz from The Owl House and i think that show have a perfect balance between old tropes like normal Superman and changes like technologies used by villains and normal people in Metropolis and new designs of Newskid Legion and Lois and Jimmy.

you're not far off! It's not greek, it's clearly latin. I can understand some sentences but the VA unfortunately has a VERY strong american english accent when he speaks so it's hard to understand a lot of it (i am used to other accents when reading latin, particularly the spanish, italian and classical ones). I guess it's easier to understand what he says if you speak any romance language, too
