Ditto for almost any government job. If you aren't the favorite one work will get you a paycheck but that is about all. Work ethic is NOT appreciated. Government work gave me FULL APPRECIATION for the pond theory - scum will rise to its highest level of incompetence and * * * STAY THERE * * *.
1. Keep as much control over your own life and keep as many options open for yourself as possible. Number 1 rule for making this happen - limit your debt; especially bad debt, as much as possible. Remember - debt is slavery. 2. Seek out and surround yourself with smart, motivated, positive minded people. You should seek to learn at least one new thing every day. Do not get wrapped up in people with negative attitudes. Before long, you will be of a similar mind and unable to see the good... ie opportunities... in anything. 3. Never forget... you only get one chance to make a first impression and no matter where you are or what you're doing, you never know who might be observing you or what that person may be able to do for you later on. No matter what; always be diplomatic and never lose your cool.
the answer to problem #1 would be declaring bankruptcy or a consumer proposal. you dont need to disclose it on forms to anyone, talk to a lawyer, maybe the law is different in your area.
Ayeee I’m 18! This video is perfect! I watch ur channel especially for thinking about my future years and what I could possibly do. appreciate you making this.
One thing I wish I was told when I was 18 is don’t assume the career you want can be done anywhere. I’m locked into a city I don’t like because of the career I chose.
I would also like to add that people should not only lock themselves into a career that can only be done in cities they don't like, but to be more specific, people should not lock themselves into "contacts" in a state/province or city they might not like later. I have 2 examples: The first example is a man who actually makes a respectable living as a freelance musician; however, it's pretty much impossible for him to move to another state because then he would have to essentially start from zero trying to get contacts to get jobs. The second example is a man from New York City. The man from NYC used to work as a high level manager of a store. He thought he'd move onto greener pastures in Florida, only to find out he could not reproduce his high position when he moved down to Florida. As a result, he had to become an Uber driver and he was living with a decisively worse quality of life than if he had just stayed in New York City. The lesson from all this: be absolutely sure about the places that your chosen profession is linked to. You also must keep in mind the question of "is what I do easily reproducible elsewhere if I had to move?" You really don't want to be linked to a place with no way out, especially if it's a place you hate living in, because of your career.
I was a lawyer, I needed to be in the office to get anything done. Purely psychological since I had access to computers and an online law library at home. Too many temptations and distractions in the house. Sometimes I'd go to the public library with a laptop, which was closer .
1. Don't get married (in America) 2. Invest asap 3. Live cheap. 4. Have multiple sources of income 5. Stay away from women work on your mission in life the good ones will come 6. Buy some hard assets each pay period. silver... 7. Stay in shape. 8. Learn something new every day 9. Be kind and generous after your investments and bills are paid. 10 STAY OUT OF DEBT.
do not invest in: crypto, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, Vegas or any of those get-rich-quick US scams, do buy PHYSICAL gold, stored outside of US or its client states, good places would be: Switzerland, Austria, Singapur, obtain citizenship in a free country, possibly not located in the third world, a place where you can live, I can assure you will need it, do not postpone pursuing women and your chance of finding a good one goes up, time works against you here
@@bussin1337 Not entirely. Especially to people from third world countries. There are lots of benefits of getting passports to go to another country to study, to work, to set up a business.
Jubaaissaoui, are you saying you want to study oversees for 4 years to gain a degree and then be able to apply for citizenship in that country OR you already have a degree and want to know the countries where you may be able apply for citizenship using your current degree? Either way you should have the ability to research this is one of the reason I say get a passport because travel will force you to think and help yourself especially to gain answers to questions where you can easily access via a computer, time to grow up young man! Tough love ;)
@@jubaaissaoui5678normally you won’t qualify for citizenship with a student visa. Only certain visas enable you to gain citizenship In the UK for example, student visa is excluded (unless you stay 10+ years studying in the country). Only after graduation, and when the person starts working, they start to count time towards citizenship
If I could go back in time to 18, Id go to school overseas instead of staying in America. Id be a French citizen by now. Now at 36, I married a British & Im a resident in France. But still better late than never. My kids will have multiple citizenships at a young age
#1 advice as a 38 year old. Go where the money is. Give yourself a good start where the barriers of entry are low. You don't know which doors can open if you are open to life.
I live in Canada (Toronto) I only speak English. I want to leave sooner rather then later hopefully this year. I only have British/Irish Canadian citizenship and possibly Hungarian citizenship from my mother. I am from Belfast UK. I dont have much money under a couple thousand at most with only a high school diploma. I been thinking of moving back to France (lived there before for a few years) but I don’t know if that’s the best idea for me. Right now I am thinking of going on a trip soon in other countries in the Americas (I can’t afford to go to Europe or Asia). What would you recommend that I should do?
@@owenready7043 look at any industry that's hiring with no experience and no education requirements. You're actually in a fantastic position at this point. The boomers are retiring, there's something of a labor shortage. If you're young and healthy, try to get in with a trade, but make sure it's a good company with training. Learn how to do something. If you want to get into the office later then you'll have the field knowledge. I wouldn't necessarily leave Toronto but can't say without ever having lived there. Big cities generally have more opportunities. If I'm wrong there, then look for a small but growing city. Just get that first job even if it's dirty and not exactly what you want to do. Make some friends and prove your work ethic. Use your job as your school. Most of all love life. It's a real adventure to be embraced. Be optimistic. Life gets better as a man. When you're 20 you're nothing. Just accept it 100%. If you let that bother you it shows in your demeanor. Life gets better at 35. Good luck kiddo
The most important part of any game is to know what game is being played. Upwards of 95% of the population have no idea what is being played and hence gave shit advice despite being well intentioned but yet 100% wrong.
Thanks Andrew - I liked that. I have been watching your content for years. While I am around your age - I still think it's never too late. You can be a 50 year old and start out again like an 18 year old. We live so we should thrive. My peace of advice for younger men especially: Becareful who you marry and have kids with. It can advance and motivate you but it can also set you back decades.
So TRUE!!! 20yrs in the marriage business, it ended and nearly 700k later (thanks CA courts) as a 55yo I'm worse off then I almost every 40 year old I know. Working 6 days a week to try and make up a little ground. Will retire overseas because no way to do it here with any quality of life. Thank goodness I have a pension or I'd have nada....she is doing amazingly well (to say the least).
Exactly. For Americans Get, getting your university degree abroad. Dont fall into "American Slavery 3.0" = graduating with 100k+ in student loans. Keeps US wages low. That in addition to "Americam Slavery 2.0" = outrageously overpriced healthcare available only through your employer.
For anyone who's still young or are parents/going to be parents the one major thing you need to do is give your child the best chance of success they can get in your situation, use online learning and home schooling tools instead of public education teach them finance, economics, marketing, business administration, software development/artificial intelligence, Arabic, German, dutch, graphic design, video editing, philosophy and psychology. You don't need to teach them all of these skills of course there just guidelines for the best chances of wealth success. You don't even need to teach them, just enroll them in local clubs, online learning apps/websites (e.g. Skillshare, Khan academy & brilliant) and guide them, be an interactive engaging educator, don't over do it, ask them what they want to do ECT.
Hey Andrew, 18 Years old here, love your channel. Because of you, I'm in the process of getting my 3rd passport, looking into finding better opportunities for myself. How would you suggest finding stable remote employment opportunities in order to live and work abroad? I've been trying to find business opportunities but it's obviously extremely hard. I have some friends interested in the nomad capitalist lifestyle, and we're working towards it. Would love to hear your input or any other people in the comments below
easiest way to start is to find a remote job in your country. Then you should be able to go abroad. Much easier to start on a wage than as a freelancer / independent
@@royhamuy you want to work for a "1st world" country so if you're in the US, you can work remotely from the US then ask your boss if you can work from abroad. If you are in a poor country, get some work experience there then as you speak english you should be able to get a remote job as a contractor for a US, Can, Aus ... company.
Good advice. You must be flexible. You must be able to sale better yet market whatever you want to market/salea. Reading the accounting documents is good if you are investing. I don't think it is that import if you are running your own business because you can hire the accounting. There are simple accounting packages if you must do it. Making yourself special and marketing is key.
Sales ability is very important even if you never have a job selling things on commission. Sell yourself at at interview, then decide whether you want the job offer. Sell your ideas in a boardroom meeting. As he stated - communicate and let others know you are serving their needs, whether directly or indirectly. Manners are important when selling something. When service workers tell me "no problem", all I can think of is whether I should be glad that taking my money is "no problem" for them. After all, I would not want to inconvenience someone by giving them my money. Or maybe I'll go to a business that appreciates my money.
@@kwabnakenzie That's my point. When you give someone money or credits, and they respond by saying "No problem", their response implies that sometimes it may be a problem for a salesperson like themselves to talk to or help a customer like you who is actually offering them money or credits. It should never be a problem. The younger generation is in for some tough times when they finally need help and realize this. They do not know the meaning of the word "service", as they have always been "served" by the State.
Being completely honest with myself, I would tell my younger self to find a nice man who would let me to stay and live with him, to cut all ties with my family, to not serve in the military and to not study at university and to work and save money even at the lowest level of job out there, but not do the military and not go to university and not stay with the religious fanatic and violent family, but to find a man who would care about me and build a life together, I should have understood it a long time ago, it would have saved me many years of suffering and forced labour.
currently 16 about to get 17 next month. there so many things i would like to do but i can't execute in my country.i am currently focusing on learning. maybe later down the line or even at 18 i would be able to go over seas. since what i am looking for is opportunity
To have at least a University Degree can be a passport for anybody who wants to work in a Foreign country , there are countries that have this condition if you apply for a work visa or a permanent residency . There are countries that would not even hire anybody as a seller without a highschool diploma . To have a university diploma can also become a passport for better salary negociation . Circumstances , can change the word you give .
Andrew, I've been watching you for years but I'm unable to get out because I have no money to start. Is there any job I could apply at Nomad Capitalist.
Ya its gud but in world all business offer profit percentage 15 to 2o percent max 1st infustry offer 20 for above percentage its excellent profession its not my thinking that's business charm
So I have a skincare health and wellness business and also a website that I sell my products. I would love to move to Thailand but would that qualify for a smart visa?
Overly complicated. I helped my teenage daughter start a fully outsourced online business. She's 17 and making $2k/month working 2 hours a week or less. That base income and time freedom is allowing her to build new skills and pursue other interests and opportunities. As Kiyosaki says, "If your business requires you to work every day, you don't have a business, you have a job." Creating businesses that don't require your time or physical presence is endlessly scaleable. Don't settle for less!
Hey i have been watching your videos for quite some time ... since i am from a 3rd world country i moved to Germany when i turned 18 but i feel very directionless and drained ... i quite can't figure out my niece and em having problems navigating the western world ... any advices ....

You need to reconsider your position. Canada is a place to go from if you have choices. Currently organizing my exit from Canada... can't happen quickly enough.
If you want to be like this guy, you can try his advice. I think it is mostly bad advice. For example, going to college in a different culture is 2x the problems - studying the material and learning a new culture. And you won't be accepted if you don't already have a college-level command of the language. Sales advice is good though. I do like the advice that IF YOU DON'T LIKE AMERICA please leave. I strongly advise the young anti-Americans to give up citizenship immediately even before you leave.
Guys go to college to find girlfriends, to travel and to make friendships for life. Those friendships could became a business opportunity in the future. Nowadays almost no one goes to the college with the objective to study to get a worthless degree.
If you leave America as an American you leave behind legal protections that are not present in other countries, take for example everything in the bill of rights. Although it has become diminished over the years, America is the best nation on the planet and the last "free" country where the populace is not completely beneath the heel of government.
My advice to an 18 yr old ??? Simple: Never ever spend all the money you make today unnecessarily. Never spend it for nothing. If it's not strictly necessary for your survival, don't spend it. Save it instead. Believe it, every penny you make today you can bet you'll surely need it when you get older.
Sorry, but not very good advice as the USD and all other fiat currencies will enter into hyperinflation. If you invest all of it into physical gold or silver or Bitcoin, then I’d agree halfway. The best thing however I’ve found is investing at least HALF or more of all your income into income producing assets. YOU are the most important asset. Alex Hormozi says it costs about 50k to get the help to develop the skills to become a millionaire.
@@MenofHighValue So... it's a simple equation to solve: You're free to spend your money down to the last penny, or at worst, risk losing it entirely by investing it in some sort of suspicion or unsecured fund. Foxes are eager to grab everybody's money at any time, including yours. As to mine... well, my money, even though it's just a few coins, I keep it. Any risk of devaluation I might take, the money is on me, not on someone else's hands. Simple as that. 🤷🏻♂️
