I guess it depends on how you look at it. Originally anime DVDs were all I collected, that was about 2 years ago. Then around a year ago I halved my dvd collection to get my NX and started buying figures, posters, pillows, etc shortly after..

Actually, no. It only take him one year, but he sure did blow thousands of dollars on this kind of junk, and trust me, you would rather want to look amateur-ish then wasting all that money on things you don't need, why because I'm like him and now I have trouble moving because I have so much of all these figures and gunpla that I'm have trouble on what to bring with me for my moving trip to college.

You're a shame for the otaku comunity. I'm in a similar situation. I waste hundreads of euros per month in all sorts of anime merch and I'm not ashamed nor mad about it. It's just a way to express gratitude to anime I guess..
OMG, I forgot, my motivation before I started my work is to make my room like this, but WTF happened now that I'm working really hard and the weird thing is I dont know where my money went.. lol maybe I should start over, this video gave me an inspiration to save up money
For the dvds I used the following: ebay, Rightstuf, Amazon. Figures and goods I used ebay and Mandarake the most. I ordered also once or a couple of times from the following aswell: AmiAmi, Hobby Link Japan (HLJ), Otacute (now defunct). I have also bought alot of items directly from other collectors.
I've been tempted to buy a ton of poster, and completely cover my walls. But, I like my other posters of favourite bands, movies, games ect. As much as I love anime, I would not fill my room full of nothing but anime. After all, I do have other interests. Nice room, though. A bit bright for my tastes, but still nice none the less.
I have like maybe 8-10% of that ammount of stuff... I first thought I had alot , but this video showed me what true anime themed room looks like. 5 stars. over the top , one day I will have as many , one day, not today, but in time. as I plan on buying as many I as I can possibly find on the internet. someday I will have as many as you . someday. I am a wishful thinker.
The Miku Body pillow I own also... In a matter of a fact I own a few figures, posters, and DVDs this person owns. I love this room. It's like so amazing. Anyways you can go on Amazon to get the Mkku figure of her hair in the air and the white outfit she has on. There's many places to get these.

Some people save up money for a house , or a car (boring) , but people like me and this guy, we like to spend our money on things that make us feel proud , and happy. something WE KNOW not a single person in our neighborhood has. :)

I love the room but I would never want thaat much I don't have enough big room,can't afford that many things and my country sucks when it comes to ordering stuff...many ppl have no idea where my country is lol but in any way I really love your room looks awesome :)
I like anime and all, but sometimes when I see these rooms / houses I think to myself, "The day we have a post apocalypse scenario, these are the houses that will be the most useless and used as fire pits to warm camps....".
If there was a huge as earth quake or something everything in that room would literally fall down and make a huge mess filled with scattered anime merchandise becuase theres so much stuff in there 😂
Damn i just started so i don't know what 2 do especially im also collecting movies and games. the only anime related thing i have are dvds, mangas and one piece models plus the ship. im still thinking if i wanna buy some models for my otaku room or just collect mangas since figures are expensive as hell.

i've been collecting anime statures recently, but so far most of them came with tiny scratches or dents, one even had a paint disfigurement, despite being completely new and shipped from japan just bad luck or what? I can't exactly ship them back and ask for a replacement or refund
