Thought it was interesting how you decided to ask the entertainer what times they are unavailable vs available. I think it personally feel backwards for identifying availability, but users and data will tell you. I wonder if you have thought about any push notifications to inform entertainers about gigs, etc. Also, you should continue to think about the future a bit around how entertainers could be a part of groups rather than just an individual profile. I think most bands and other entertainers won’t be just one person, and every entertainer in the group should be informed of what gigs are coming up and how their schedules are filling in. From there, I think you could also do a lot more where users can determine what percentage of earnings belong to who and much more ideas within that group concept. All future concepts as the product grows, but hope you appreciate the feedback!

This is a very thoughtful comment. The push notification systems are in place for new chat messages, booking requests, booking confirmations, payment being distributed. All very basic but enough to get us to a few customers using it. That's what were trying to break right now. Instead of groups, there are lots of solo entertainers we want to focus on. Short bursts of entertainment instead of group earnings that are not very profitable. My sister is in a touring reggae/pop band and I spoke with her booking manager about this. The model of booking agents/managers/tour managers is a lot of added friction for something that could potentially be platformized. Similar to what facebook did by starting with harvard, then other colleges then high schools, etc.. We plan to start with individual entertainers, then move to providing this as a business offering for bars trying to book talent, then potentially tackle the group problem. You should join my discord! We talk product all the time, link is in the description.

@@parkerrex Awesome stuff. It seems like you have pretty great strategy! I feel like you hit your first goal post and should have this behind a feature flag and release what you showed. You can only learn from users if it’s available for use! I say put all your focus on getting this marketplace out there to these individual entertainers and entertainees and learn from it. Then, direct your attention to the next goal post. Send it! Ill check out the discord!

I think it’s more intuitive to indicate the dates and times you’re available vs when you’re not. Just a thought. Might be confusing for users later on

You mean the UI, cant control how someone will feel (big part of "the UX"), can only influence. But ya, simple UI, nice!

Very cool app! I love the integrations - connecting to bank, to maps, etc. and how smooth the app works. Is there a webpage version? I personally always opt for webpages and I imagine some local business owners would prefer that as well. Do entertainers set their base prices for bookings? Can they set parameters based on amount of people in attendance or amount of time requested? I guess the basic question I'm after is how is the price negotiated? How is the entertainer/requestor incentivized to use the app for scheduling/communication once the desired entertainer is found using the app? What's to stop someone from just leaving the app to find the entertainer's personal webpage/social media and requesting that way?

Yeah Stripe is simple, so is Google Maps. No web version -- that can come later. Entertainers set their prices and duration, customers decide if they want to pay it or not before they book. We're building a toolkit so that creators don't have to worry about finding business. The idea is that the value of the platform will allow creators to build a book of business and not have to worry about setting up a site etc. We kickstart the supply side, to get first customers. Customers will discover talent they wouldnt have thought to look for originally. If youre a niche entertainer finding people is a HUGE challenge. You want to focus on your craft, not marketing yourself. If we can make it 10x easier to make a passion your career using rapture then we win.

Looks good. Will there be an option for the customer and talent to directly communicate outside of the initial note from the customer when booking?
@parkerrex
@parkerrex 3 года назад
yessir -- once you send a booking request you can live chat. We may need to open up chat requests as a feature before requesting a booking

On the artist profile page, wouldn't it make sense to add a field that indicates where they are based out of / whether they are open to travel?
@parkerrex
@parkerrex 3 года назад
that makes sense... right now its going to specific to the city we're testing it in. how do you see the app working? ie you could travel to a different city ?
@jacobaintpatient
@jacobaintpatient 3 года назад
@@parkerrex ah i see - but I think adding the location field in the MVP would still provide much clarity for the end user. once there's a big enough user base, i envision people can have the option to pay more to invite willing artists to travel to a specific location
