Took some spare time to track the speedrun record of this version of Sea-Maid: Approximately 1m01s in this video. Since the game runs at a different speed in this one (possibly slower), it took a bit longer but still possible to get the "Minute Maid" record. Also, the Sea-Maid speedrun record on the "Ranking Nice Code Games pt. 8" was almost 59s.
re: Fishing, I get the vibe that both Nice Code(?) and Hummer were contracted to make the same game at different points, but ultimately the Hummer version got released. There's too many deep cut similarities (ie graphics choices in Fishing that line up with only the less common version of King Fishing, the title screen music of Fishing being based on the same MIDI track as an unused track in King Fishing) for it to have been a clone, imo. Both are obviously based on Sega Bass Fishing, but they copied and translated it to 2D in *eerily* similar ways that I don't believe could've happened by coincidence lmao
Thank you for the info. I haven't looked into the Hummer Team game much, but it sounds as if they were working for the same publisher and were given some notes on what to do.
