August 24th, 2023: We walk down La Rambla and discover the Columbus Monument. We then move on to the harbor/dock “Port Vell''(Darcena Nacional) and follow the boardwalk along the Mediterranean down the Rambla del Mar all the way to the Maremagnum Mall, past the Aquarium and onto Plaza del Ictineo (Plaza de L’Ictineo or Plaza del Ictineo). We explore the Far Barcelona and the Santa Eulália Pailebote sailboats of the Museu Marítim de Barcelona (Maritime Museum of Barcelona) before getting pizza at Puglia In Tavola, in the Gothic Quarter and some “gelato” ice cream before going back to our hotel “Hotel Monegal''by Plaza Catalunya (Plaza Cataluña). We wanted to walk to La Barceloneta Beach but didn’t make it. I briefly touch on the potentially occult history of Columbus and the possibility that he may have been Jewish and left on his voyage to the New World on the last day of the “Expulsion of the Jews from Spain” via the “Alhambra Decree”.
