Hi everyone! Here's my collection of art supplies! I wanted to make an updated video discussing all of the art supplies I currently enjoy using! I really hope this video is helpful. Be sure to let me know what you think. Also, let me know your current favourite art supplies! I would love to know. And as always, feel free to post any suggestions for future art videos I could try working on. Thank you so much for the amazing continued support! It means a lot. I hope you all have a great week! :) -Chris
Had an idea that I was thinking about doing but not sure if I have the skills to pull it off. But I've been into making models of cars since I was young and always wanted to put one together and then do a video game or some other themed paint job on the model. And on top of either drawing on it with paint markers or hand painting, could also try some air brush work with the details as well. Seems like something that could challenge anyone's art skills because you could keep the rest of the detail normal other than the shell of the model or you could make it themed through every detail while assembling it as well.
I appreciate how short and concise this video is. I like watching art supply videos but some youtubers make it into a 30+ minute video and it’s too much. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for always showing your art supplies. This really help me and thank you very much for write it all down. This really help mr a lot to find these supplies.
I'm an amateur cartoonist. you put me in mind of something when you mentioned a cheap pen/marker sometimes being up to the task. well, I purchased a store brand(I'm talking about a supermarket, as in groceries) marker a while back, and when I wanted to draw a ham which had been cut into, I grabbed this 'red' marker which had turned out to be pink. as I said, cheap! it gave me the perfect hue for a piece of ham. I can only aspire to be as good as you, but the only thing standing in my way is me. thanx for being there, and keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for the support!! :) Oh wow, that's so awesome! I really hope you're enjoying using markers. Learning to use them was one of the most rewarding feelings I've had while working on this channel.
There’s a lot of things in life where I understand the mechanics that make something possible but still seem like magic to me. One is how airplanes don’t fall out of the sky. Another is how a human is able to produce art like you do. I really enjoy your style. Well done.
Fun to see the different supplies you use. I think it is delightful to see how many different mediums you seem to enjoy. Thank you for once again a lovely video and your always positive vibe!
That's so kind! Thank you so much, Danielle. :) I really appreciate it. I feel so lucky to have been able to learn about all these different supplies while working on this channel.
I think my fave products at the moment is Albrict Dürer watercolor pencils from Faber castell. I mostly just doodle and then color....just as a stress relief 😊 your videos are always amazing.
As a suggestion: I'm a huge fan of Attack on Titan and I love your drawings of them, my suggestion - make up your own Titan, and give it a power/name - like how we have the Attack, Jaw, Warhammer etc. but one made up by you!
Most of the supplies you use for graphic is what I use, except that mechanical pencil. I use the Pentel 205 which is the same but it's 0.5mm lead and I just picked up the monozero eraser yesterday along with some toned tan mixed media paper. I think you were the first artist I seen using the toned tan mixed media paper, I always seen folks using the sketch paper.
So those are the tools of a master 👍🏻 I used to use jelly roll white pens but switched to Uniball Signo. I think they flow better and don’t clog as much . Your work always inspires me
I've been subscribed for your channel since 2016 of 2017 - and you've been a huge inspiration all the time! Your artstyle is terrific and your effort is great! Please don't ever give up on your ideas for it is clear to me that you're the one to succeed!
Amazing collection! 🙌 Thank you for posting, Chris! It’s been so fun seeing you try out new mediums and I’m so glad you’ve been able to do so much exploring! My personal favorite medium is probably Copic sketch markers with Borden and Riley pen paper. I also love Uni Pin fineliners, and highly recommend if you haven’t tried them! They’re Copic-proof and I find them blacker and smoother than Microns [which are also great!].
Thank you so much, Rose!! :) Your support means a lot! I really appreciate the recommendation too!! I'll definitely check them out. Hope you have a great week!
my top tip with watercolours would be the paper, I got very frustrated and almost gave up with my watercolour when I used hot press paper, then a friend told me to try cold pressed and wow what a difference, I'll never go back to hot pressed paper ever again :D just thought I'd pass that on :D love your vids!
This is awesome, thank for sharing. You and Bayley Jay are the reason I invested in Copic markers. I wanted to try making art as amazing as you. Thanks for inspiring.
Thank you so much!! That's really awesome to hear. :) I hope you're enjoying using Copics! Learning to use markers was definitely one of the most rewarding feelings I've had while working on this channel.
Excellent video mate, your channel was among the first that I started watching 6 years ago that lead me on to creating my own channel. I hope that one day my channel will be as polished and successful as yours. Kindest and warmest regards mate
Love seeing these kinds of videos from other artists and getting ideas. I've recently been enjoying doing studies in ballpoint pen, which has been a nice simple way of filling pages in my sketchbook. Also a big fan of watercolour and like to play with alcohol markers occasionally, when I can find paper they dont bleed right through
I love your collection and watching over the years how you’ve grown as an artist has been really interesting and sometimes surprising with how you’ll use your tools- say on a sheet of solid, shiny metal for example. I’ve been following you for a few years now and there’ve been occasions where your work has inspired me to push myself. My favorite art supplies this year at least for the coming summer are watercolors, gouache, watercolor brush pens and Tombow Brush pens, Liquitex Acrylic Inks, Acrylics (MGraham, Sennelier, Holbein, Winsor&Newton, Liquitex heavy body), then finally Holbein Colored Pencils and Polychromos colored pencils. The brands are waterproof and excellent for mixed media projects. Sometimes I’ll do line art with my Acrylic Inks because they’re waterproof and I really like the effect it gives to a piece. Hope you have a good summer, and looking forward to more videos from you!
I'm a big fan Chris, and I love your drawings. I especially loved the T-rex and Dragon ones. I have tried many paintings of yours, many have come out great and some not that good. Thanks for sharing your art supplies.
Thank you so much!! :) I would love to try more soft pastel artwork again because that video project was amazingly fun - but very messy haha!! Poscas are awesome too.
Man these art supplies are so nice!! also I love your artwork! So much so I'm super tempted to pitch the star wars themed tattoo my dad and I trying to get for commemoration for seeing all the movies in theaters together. We were looking to get a scenic themed star wars tattoo and we finally got a few concepts that we really liked so I'm tempted to ask about it so I could take it to a tattooist and be like bam this please just because I love your artwork and art style so much lol
Nice collection! you are really inspiring me. I recommend the ugui markers. It´s like watercolor markers. extremly useful for travelling. Hope you have a good time. Greetings from Germany :)
Your drawings are Amazing! I started with watercolor and it is my favorite. Once you get more comfortable with it switch from cotman to a professional set of pans. I also started with cotman and now use winsor newton, sennelier, schminke, daniel smith, QOR. They are so worth the upgrade. Tfs
Thank you so much for the kind words!! I'd love to try out some different watercolours soon. There's something about watercolour that I find so inspiring - I love browsing watercolour art! And when I'm working on a painting and it feels like it's going well it's such a rewarding feeling haha. Thanks again! Hope you have a great week.
I love the toned grey paper from Strathmore. I just tried the Bristol Vellum from Strathmore, I really like it! I also like Canson XL mixed media paper 98 lb. I usually just cut my erasers to create highlights! I draw with graphite pencils, paint with acrylic paint and just started using coloured pencils.
posca pens definitly ..i saw them in your videos so i got some. most of the equipment ive seen in these art supplies videos so thanks for sharing what you use to create your amazing artworks !! :)
I would suggest trying out Caran D’Ache Luminance pencils. They are considered to be the best pencils in the world when it comes to blending and quality of colour. Also, they have better light fastness than Polychromos 😊
Wonderful explanation of the various art supplies. You are amazing! I'm exploring watercolor pencils. Would love to see a video about using them. Thank you.
This is the 1st channel i subscribed to on you tube..you have always been my favorite to watch..you have crazy talent bud..really..i am a tattoo artist..i think u should get a tattoo kit and some synthetic skin and try it...i think it would be a good challenge for u to do..good luck and god bless..hagd..2021
Thank you for the tutorial, it has been an immense help over the last 6 months for me. All your work is amazing, and I can’t wait to see what you make next. M starting art a little late, at 15, but I feel like I’ve personally improved far past what I thought possible in this amount of time, and all of your videos not only give me inspiration but give me hope that I can be able to create like you. I hope you keep up the good work, and suggestion wise I’d like to see you do inktober52, which is like inktober but for the entire year, one prompt a week, 52 weeks in a year.
What an amazing collection ✨ I've been watching your videos for a few years now and I love them. You have developed so much and your drawings are always great. I also think that you are a very nice and personable guy. 😊 (And hopefully you will forgive me any spelling mistakes. I'm from Germany 😅) Some of my favourite art supplies: Faber Castell Polychromos 120er Pack Prismacolor Pencils 72er pack Ohuhu Brush Marker 72er Pack Faber Castell Pit Marker for Inking Bristol and Strathmore Paper I discovered and tried out some of my favorite art supplies through your videos. Thank you and keep it the amazing work 😊✏️
Latelly i havent been drawing alot, i don't know why but ever since last year when covid started i Just havent felt inspired. It really is a shame cause i love drawing and ive tried to get back into it, but evey time i sit down with a pen i Just end up skribleling random lines. Really hope it blows over soon, as i really miss it. Edit: sorry if this is the wrong place for this but ive always felt welcome in this community and i just needed to get this of my chest. Art block sucks.
Thank you for sharing how you're feeling! I totally understand what you're going through. I've felt that quite a few times. And it's understandable to have felt it through this difficult time. It can be difficult to create when there's been so much going on in the world - you're definitely not alone. I slowed down in my work over this past year or so for similar reasons. I recommend not to put too much pressure on your creativity. Something that has helped me is to step away from trying to draw and taking part in another interest that might feed my inspiration. Going outside, taking photos, reading, video games, etc. Photography and video games have helped me a lot. Also, working on fan art with no pressure or time constraints has helped me a lot in the past. I hope this is helpful in some way. Wishing you lots of support!! Hope you have a good week. :)
Your art supplies are so beautiful and expensive offcourse 😂I'm following you since 3yrs 😀 I have drew that baby lion drawing and eagle and alot more by help of your videos so thank you for all of this✨,can I get a heart cuz I never got a heart from you!?🙏🏻🙏🏻
Amazing collection, I do love polychromos more than prismacolor mainly due to the breakage issues, however, I do like the way prismacolors blend too. Plus prismacolors are way cheaper than polychromos lol, which is why I only have the 24 set of those and the 72 set of the prismacolors lol. I do want to try posca markers eventually though.
Thank you!! Yep, I completely agree! Blending with Prismacolors is so fun. Polychromos pencils allow me to add small details without breaking all the time which has been incredibly helpful for marker drawings. Poscas are awesome too! :)
@@LethalChris1 I totally agree, you can get a much better point on a polychromos without worrying about breaking the tip. Both brands have their uses. I can't wait to try posca markers.
I was wondering if you could draw a female Earth Elf character. Kind of like your Earth Dragon, except that the base character is an elf. It’s an idea of I’ve had for a while for a story, but I couldn’t seem to get it to work and gave up on it. You are an amazing artist and I’d love to see your take on this character.
It's a Spectrum Noir pen rack! :) It's intended for holding Spectrum Noir markers, but I've found that it works with all of my art supplies! It's awesome.
Just alittle tip if you wish to get more comfortable with watercolors.... stop using the winsor and newton cotman paints. They are very difficult to use, hard to rewet, they dry chalky and you have to fight with them. I see too many artists get turned off from watercolors, because they tried it out with the student grade winsor and newton cotman. They are absolutely terrible mate lol. I swear you will have a much much much better experience and go with professional artist grade watercolors. I typically have 5 very large studio pallets, with a smorgasbord of brands. I use Daniel Smith, M. Graham, Qor, Schmincke, Holbein, maimeriblu, Roman szmal, winsor and Newton professional, Da Vinci, and some Rembrandt. I know it's extremely exspensive in Europe for Daniel Smith, Da Vinci and M. Graham watercolors.. but the same goes for the USA with Schmincke and winsor and newton. When I teach my private art lessons, I stress the importance of watercolor paper more than the paints. My favorite is Saunders Waterford ( which is very exspensive in USA ) and not to use Cotman student grade paints. Anyway, I've rambled enough mate lol... from 1 professional artist to another, get your self professional artist grade watercolors. You will not regret it and I know you will absolutely smash it, with better paints. Cheers mate
I have a set of soft Faber Castell pencils. It has already paid for all the other art supplies for me. But I think I’m starting to hate graphite and hatching.
thanks for the great video. I have a question: when is the next Q&A? I am really interested in your more personal life. (of course, if you are willing to share) 🙃 😍
Why don't you sketch a fantasy land full of imaginary creatures, at one page. A couple of them flying others running. It would be awesome to feel via senses. And, yes! your art is inspiring me to draw my book cover by myself
Can you draw Sausages and Mash? I know it sounds random, but if anyone can, you can. Also... if you are drawing a still life of a vibrator, but it's switched on... is it still classed as "still life"?
