I've worn Tilly hats for around a decade, in my humble opinion they are great and do a brilliant job. I've one for summer and one for colder weather. Both of mine were made in Canada and were not cheap but still wear just as good as they day I purchased them. Instead of lasting a season they last several so ultimately not that expensive overall.

I've a genuine Australian leather one made by native Australians, purchased at a vintage agricultural rally some 15 years ago for €20 It was a rare hot sunny Bank Holiday weekend and it was needed. Later the heavens opened and was thankful for it again.

I have a Christy Fedora that people call a cowboy hat. It obviously isn't really. However there were two Christy Brothers who fell out. One went to America and made "Cowboy" hats. The other stayed at home and made Fedoras.

It’s definitely not an Aussie slouch hat. They are made from rabbit fur or wool felt similar to the Acubra. That looks to be a more modern copy.

You're right, I do - used to have cheaper boots but they'd fall apart after a year, RMs last nearer a decade

I didnt know that so had to read up on it. Company was sold in 2015 when Alex Tilley retired but is still family run, apparently the core line are still Canadian made but the rest are made in China. Mine is older that 2015 so definitely Canadian!
