I would consider using your beautiful fall/halloween yarn for vanilla socks instead of lace! The variegation might obscure the lace pattern. Regardless of what you choose, I’m sure it will be great, especially as long as you’re enjoying it :)
Saying that that yarn looked like crushed leaves is the best description I’ve heard for a yarn and it’s spot on!! The yarn is soooo beautiful! I can’t wait to see your finished California sweater!
You are amazing... knitting so beautifully for anyone, and especially after only knitting for one year, WOW!!!! the Cardi is in. my cart.. but, I'm waiting to see how you progress and your comments. LOVE your videos.
Excited to share your joy in your Autumn knits this coming season, Jacque! I’ll be finishing my Book Club cardigan and casting on a Ppoppo Jacket by Aegyoknit and a Basile Sweater by Soumine 🤗 Right now I have just cast on a Sabai, so am looking forward to seeing your progress in your next podcast x
I'm starting to think about fall knitting as well. Lots of knitted cardigans in my future! 🧶 Happy early 10 year anniversary! 🎉 I celebrated 11 years this May. Stockpiling baby knits is always a great idea.
Hi Jaque, so glad you liked my suggestion for your wonderful alpaca Yarn. Look forward to seeing you make the Cardi Cocoon. 😀 Greetings from Berlin, Germany
The black/white effect of your leaf-colored yarn is called "marled", you'll find other yarns doing something similar with that term. The little splotches of color in the white of the Olga sweater would be "heathered". Tweed would work too as a search term, so if you're not finding something that really Sparks Joy, try searching for heathered yarn.
If you're looking for a silk mohair for the Cardi cocoon, you should check out Sandnesgarn's new colour in thin silk mohair, 3509 Ballet tutu! I think it would be a great match 😍 and that cardi is gonna be soo lovely!!
That color is so gorgeous I saw that on Instagram! I think it may be a little pinker than what I was thinking but it may be cool marled a little you’re so right!
Just found your channel. Love your plans. I am currently knitting the Olga. I am almost finished and it's turning out great! I love Peer Gynt but really have to use up some stash yarn. I am using Knitpicks Wool of the Andes Worsted in Cobblestone and Chestnut. Fairly similar to your planned colours and it looks so nice! Looking forward to see you knit up some of your plans!
@@jacqueismaking It is a very straightforward pattern I think. I like petiteknits writing style and have done many of her patterns. You should have no problems 😊
I've got zipper sweater on my list to do this year too! I love that you're making one for your husband, that's an amazing anniversary gift! I absolutely looooooove your yarn choice for the california sweater! I'm still waiting for mine in the mail, and can't wait to start!
Hi from Finland! Just found you and your friendly face, joyful talking about knitting and yarn. I love your plans, hopefully your husband will like the pullover you will knit to him ❤
@@jacqueismakingFinland here as well! Early August is prime time to plan for fall knitting in this country, and that’s what I’m doing now (just trying to finish one of my summer tops first, ha ha!😝). I have considered making he Anne Wentzel cardigan, and now I’m even more motivted to do so! Thank you for your joyful video!
hi nice to find , I have recently finished the Burra cowl and wear it lots this winter. I think you might be missing the Double Time cardigan by Truly Myrtle.
Could you please give the color for the beautiful four crow yarn. They are all sold out right now but when she dyes again I would love it. Thank you. I love your podcast!
I just discovered your channel. Love it and your esthetic. I just cast on the Rockport Wrap using 2 skeins of yarn from On The Round. She’s a dyer from Maine that I am in love with. I really want to cast on the Autumn Fires socks! Thatnl you for the inspiration.
I got a YKK ball and stick pin zipper from Amazon for my husband’s Lanark sweater. Basically the same as the PK one just without the branding and without the mark up!
Ahhh I rewatch Gilmore Girls every fall too (I think this will be year 5 or 6). Love your choice for the alpaca yarn. I think the duster sweater is classic & cozy. Can’t wait to see how your fall makes come together. I’m also looking forward to WI sheep & wool festival-hard to believe that is only 6 weeks away.
I love that you rewatch as well, perhaps I will have to do a Gilmore girls knits round up this fall… Rory wears so many cute sweaters! If you see me at sheep and wool come say hi! ❤️
New viewer here - loved watching your knitting plans! I’m sure your husband will love the Zipper Sweater - I’ve knit two (one regular and one light) for my boyfriend, and of all the sweaters I’ve knit him, he’s declared those two his favourites! The PetiteKnit Zippers are the YKK zippers, so perhaps you could look for that ☺️
Hmmm 😊 I knit summerknits in spring, fallknits in summer, winter knits in fall and spring knits afther chrismas. This is knits for myself. I knit chrismas and birtday gifts during the hole year.
@@jacqueismaking I'm currently working on a ranunculus to wear over a dress to a wedding this fall and I have everything to get started on another sweater for myself and an oversized cardigan for my adult daughter. I also just caked up yarn for a shawl to go with my new winter coat I got last year... Dang, I do have plans! Wow💙
@@jacqueismaking simplicity had a sale and I just got my order today! So excited, now I can start planning the dress I'm making for the wedding too! I'm also doing some bridesmaid alterations so plenty to do before October for sure!
Had to comment and point out that the Moby sweater is like a mini Rory sweater from the first episode of GG. Could be another option to knit while watching :)
Hi Jacque! Hope all is well with you. You have said that you have been knitting spring/summer tops and by the time they are finished you only get to wear them a little while before the season changes. Why don’t you knit the spring/summer knits in the fall and winter and the fall/winter knits in the spring and summer. I know it will be hot to knit the winter ones in the summer, but as long as you keep them in that cute little bag you got, it will help. Love your podcasts, keep up the good work! I have to ask, is your day job something to do with fiber? I am also a quilter and love to see all things fiber!
Hey Liz! I definitely think I may be headed that way in the future, it will make it so that I can actually wear my knits while I’m still so so excited about them! I also do not work in fiber, I am a marketing professional at science company, actually! I would absolutely love to be in the fiber space one day though 😊
@@jacqueismakingyou will do well in the marketing of fiber of any kind! I am retired but was great at multi tasking as a police dispatcher for 30 years.
@@jacqueismaking Oh you MUST!!! College dorm atmosphere, New York City, all the sweaters . . . Must watch!! I also love Gilmore Girls, Felicity is up there with it. On Hulu right now.
