i was exactly the same when i was in an online relationship. obsessive, depressed, stopped going to school, and ignored all my friends. he broke up with me a year ago and then afterwards kept trying to manipulate me into getting back with him but i ignored him. best thing that ever happened to me, and i am living life to the fullest :) to this day he is still stalking me. if you ever see any small "red flags" dont ignore them and run.

I was 12, he was 17. I'm not looking for pitty, I'm still only 13 but now I realize holy hell that was bad on my part, and thankfully I had friends to kick me back to my senses. Feel free to take this story how you will. I was on discord, it was about 5 months before my birthday so everybody was like "Oh.. well tos says 13 so I guess it's fine", anyways. I met this guy on vrchat who had a server and was trying to make it grow, so of course I joined it (Little did I know he was 26 at the time but thats a different story) I met another guy on that server (the 17 year old) and we chatted EVERY DAY. He stopped going to work for me, I pretended to be sick many days of the week to stay home and talk to him. Everything was going great! I liked him so much, and I thought maybe one day age wouldn't matter. Lalala.. wonderful. Were gonna live forever!!! ~is basically how it seemed~ and then.. it started to get abusive. I told him I had trust issues from family things, my exes lying to me a lot, and I got the "So you don't trust me?" and.. it just kept getting worse from then, anytime i was sad or upset, i'd get yelled at by him, ignored, blocked, and one day eventually he told me he wanted to break up because i was getting to be too much, I had always helped him and always played games with him. I stopped talking to all my friends until the last month of our relationship and I regret the whole thing. So thats my story! :)

Tbh I kinda feel you with this... Back when I just turned seventeen, I was truly insecure because I also came out of a two year relationship and ended up doing "things" with a thirty year old man. He lived in another country so he flew all the way over to my city and stayed there for about a week. He was my first time doing XTC and the entire week I stayed at the hotel room, I was always on something (alcohol, weed, truffels, MDMA). Hindsight is as beautiful as it is worthless. I have never regretted something as much as that week.

I used to role play the same way and I’m so glad there are other people out there that experienced the same thing as well.

What’s so weird is that when I was in sixth grade, this whole story was exactly how my life played out. Basically, always on my phone and chatting with strangers all night, not sleeping well, not eating well, didn’t miss school, but I did lack in staying awake in school. Thankfully my mom and dad found out about it and knocked some sense into me + took my phone away which honestly didn’t even phase me. It was so bad that even my phone and drawing turned into chores rather than something I enjoyed. Seventh and eighth were so much better years (apart from teachers and students being butts lol).

aha i had an experience pretty similar to this.... i was highkey manipulated. it went on for about a year and was also online. looking back the red flags were so obvious but i ignored them. id confront him about something i felt off about whatever and he'd literally send a paragraph guilt tripping me into backing down. i probably cried as much as i laughed. i stayed up all hours and talked to him any chance i got. there was a week where i pulled a four day all nighter while in school and i fell asleep in most of my classes. i think it was literally a six month period where i talked to this guy non stop. i felt like i had such a connection with this guy, unlike any id ever had. after finally coming to my senses i was at my lowest low and im still trying to recover from it. im doing a whole lot better today. ive surrounded myself with trustworthy people that will love and care for me just as much as i love and care for them. yall remember to drink water and get enough sleep :)
