I was at my friends cottage in Muskoka Ontario and we were at this local bar smoking a joint on a deck with these two girls. One of the girls mentions she’s a singer and a poet. Very cool. This was maybe 2013. August. Then her cellphone goes off and she starts talking to her dad. Tell him she’s out front smoking a joint with a couple guys. I think uh oh. This guys gonna kill me. His daughter is smoking weed? The girl senses my “what the hell…” and tells me it’s fine her dad is cool. Her dad comes out and it’s Dan fucking Aykroyd. I’m a huge Ghostbusters fan and I’m trying not to lose my mind. I mean what the hell? Am I dreaming? Tripping balls? Dan Aykroyd is in Muskoka? And I’m smoking a joint with his daughter & her friend? This has to end with me pitching Dan my GB3 idea, we write it together become best friends and make millions together. But no. He told her to hurry up. I said “Hi I’m a big fan”. He said “Sorry no autographs”. Then his daughter and her friend walked off with my favourite lighter and left. I didn’t even ask for an autograph. I just said hi I’m a big fan. Then his daughter stole me lighter. My torch lighter. I loved that thing.
Wow! Maybe he was going method as Elwood! ❤️. I NVR get to tell this one. I met Ernie Hudson at a horror convention. He was the only reason I went. I was worried to meet my hero. But he was AMAZING! tall & handsome! he stood out of his chair to meet me I had a line behind me but he took his time to chat with me. A memory was made that day. And iv got nothing but love for Ernie. I regretted not taking a pic next to a version of Ecto-1 that was stationed outside! And a house flood took my autograph from that day. But I still have a digital low-rez pic on my phone of that moment!!
I was able to see him at a marijuana event that was happening in my local city, of course it was blues brothers related so Jim Belushi was also with him. They were doing free autographs but when It came time to go see them they were not talkative at all, they were talking to each other the whole time so no one there at the event really got to have small talk or even say hi🫤 at least i got my Ecto-1A license plate signed by him and Ernie Hudson lol
