I hope this comparison video helps you choose which kalimba suits you. They both have their pros and cons. Decide which one you can live with. Or get both. I did.
Notes:
▪️The prices indicated are in Philippine peso.
▪️I re-measured the last three tines of the K17CAP in the Sustain Analyzer. That is why the values in the screen captured vid don't match the table. Sorry about that.

LingTing for sure, for its comfort of Playing, Playability, Quality and Very Interesting Looks, Quality of the Wood used, It Sound! The LingTing looks like a Professional Instrument to me. I like a Long Resonate Kalimba. I also Love the K21W, Love all the LingTing models. I am sure the Very Gecko is Nice too I dont own one so i cannot Compare the two.

LingTing makes the best Kalimbas! I had a Gecko and returned it after I tried the LingTing K17A and K17P!

I choose gecko i cant play with narrow keys with my fat fingers. I feel only gorls can use those type of kalimba.

Both gecko and lingting sound great to have. But I wish they had letters engraved on the tines. 😭

I think Gecko K17SD has engraved tines. Anyway both come with stickers. If you are worried about sticky residue, it can be cleaned with metal polish. Rust is not caused by stickers. It is a product of the oxygen in moisture reacting with metal. The sides of the stickers will get rust if you play with wet fingers or if you don't wipe the tines after every use. I am learning how to play without labels by practicing first on my Aklot bear kalimba which has engraved tines and once I know the piece, I play it in my LT or Gecko.

It is easier to practice with the Gecko K17CAP but I also like the longer sustain of my LingTing K17P.

Yes, you can play tabs in C major or tabs made for C-tone kalimbas in B kalimbas. Just pretend that you are holding a C kalimba. If you are using stickers, I find it easier to follow the number notations.

@@drmkpr88 omg it's so prettyyyyy. Btw I have a question, if you only gonna buy one kalimba which one would you prefer? Gecko k17cap or lingting k17a? I don't know which one should I buy. I like the sound from both kalimbas. Gecko looks more comfortable to hold, but lingting looks more sturdy(?) It looks like it has better quality or something like that but looks uncomfortable to hold for long time. I can only say it looks uncomfortable cause I have never hold a kalimba before so I need some opinions from a person who played kalimba. What do you think?

@@chibibi9168 mine is a LT K17P (B tone), LT K17A is a C tone. So between the LT K17A and the GECKO K17CAP, I'd go for the K17CAP ( B tone) mainly due to sound preference. I can still treat my B tone as if it were a C tone kalimba by following number notations. But I see why a K17A is better suited for beginners. It is already in C. Since it is your first kalimba, and you have nothing to compare it too, you'd eventually get used to the weight. Also you can play with your arms on on the table or atop a pillow for added support. List the pros and cons of each kalimba, then see if you can deal with the cons.

@@drmkpr88 hi thank you for replying! I think I'm gonna go with gecko since I reaaaaally like how it sounds like and for the hand comfort since I would probably practising playing for a long time and that would most probably while laying down on bed 😂
