I’m sorry to hear for her lost. That baby had 5months of love and that is what’s important. Its not the how long one lives its how they lived and she knew what love was.

you have a brave sister knowing she wont live long she still had the baby she knew she was gonna get hurt for these later even after that glad she let the baby see the world

This is the most heart breaking thing in anyone's life

My grandmother just pulled me and my sister aside and told me that my aunt is loosing her baby on Monday. Shes 5 months along and her doctor JUST found out Her baby has edawrds. His hands are clenched, his feet are clubed, lungs and heart are out side of his body.. I don't know how they missed this but he wouldn't be born alive.. And the worst part. They already told their 3 year old son that he is going to be a big brother... he is so excited for a sibling and we know he won't understand.. I'm just doing some research because I'm devastated for them

It's just by random chance. It's a genetic defect caused by reproductive cells malfunctioning or developing that third chromosome. It's just a weird abnormality. Nothing can be done.

Animals are confusing. This never happens to a plant

It happens with animals too. The parent just don't try to keep them alive. The difference is humans dont abandoned the weak or deformed baby

@@LadyWarrior4JC the baby is going to die once it is not in the womb kept alive by mum, their body already decided this baby wasn't going to live, you can't force it to support it if it decides to keep it on life support at maximum.

Same here. I am at a loss. It is so slim that it happens and just the worst thing in the world. I can't get over it and don't know how I will get over this.

⁠@@yazminavinante3177I’m so sorry you’re going through this, it’s not a fun club to be a part of, that’s for sure. My motto is still “take it one hour at a time”because one day at a time felt too difficult. Not sure if this is helpful, and everyone’s experience is a bit different, but I wanted to share that it does get better. When I posted this a month ago, that felt nearly impossible to believe. But the sting of it all eventually became more like a dull burn, and I started to find more and more moments of feeling okay again, little by little. Give yourself plenty of time and patience-you deserve it. I also wanted to mention (because my medical staff certainly didn’t) that your hormones are going to be pretty unbalanced for a while afterwards, which along with the grief makes everything feel so much more terrible!I think after 2-3 weeks, that part felt more normal at least. Try to get enough vitamin C and D and spend time with pets (or people if you’re up to it) to help boost that oxytocin we’re now missing. Sorry for this novel of a reply, I just wanted to share some thoughts and say that you aren’t alone. Wishing you all the best ❤

I have 2 healthy kids and lost another boy in pregnancy from a defect that is very rare

The way I see it is getting to hold your baby for even an hour or a day is worth it all. Isn’t it better to meet them than never meet them? Still a terribly hard situation but I found great relief in it not being a decision I had to make but the baby would pass in its own time.

@@ZeoViolet A lot of insurance companies don't pay for a first trimester ultrasound. But even if they did, a lot of abnormalities are not visible in the first trimester, its around 20 weeks that things start becoming apparent.

@@edgarallanpoestheblackcat6613 not always. I have Turner Syndrome too, and I didn’t have any major birth complications that warranted more testing so I wasn’t diagnosed until middle school. That has its tradeoff, because if you’re not diagnosed until later it means less time for growth hormone therapy
