I used to have a very nice patio area. Very shady, but I didn’t have a pool, so that was ok. I had to move when I became handicapped because I was to far out from town so I was super limited in where I could go independently, but I do have a two car garage with a door that I have turned into my outdoor space because I don’t have a car anymore. It is very nice, but not as nice as my old patio area.

I'm not a sun person, but I love to sit outside in the shade of a tree watching butterflies, bees, birds, and my dog(s). Kind of like watching the grass grow. Occasionally a butterfly lands on a toe. So relaxing. Virginia in northern Ohio

I'm moving to a sunnier area this summer. Your beautiful pool and yard gave me lovely ideas and stores. Pollux and Maxxie remind me to be very pet friendly in my choices too. The beautiful solar lights may draw too many bugs at night but Dipladenia bushes and "wheat" are on my wish list. 😊

I love it! Last year I thought it was nice, this year you have outdone yourself. The patio looks amazing, the dipladenias give a bit of pop, the wheat looks amazing, the new garden furniture, umbrella and the lights all look great ... good for you! When you filmed the lights at night, I could hear the 'spring peepers' from the pond ... it is one of my favourite sounds of Spring. But my all-time treat of course is watching the boys testing the new furniture and enjoying themselves. Thank you Renee for treating us to your garden tour.

Absolutely loved your patio tour !!! I am so envious of your pool !!! It looks so inviting!!! Was very impressed with your robot for pool......cool idea !!! Your flowers are gorgeous!!! I love your outdoor sanctuary. You could plant some moonflowers on your fence for the night blooms or coral vines for the outer fence. They are heat tolerant and so beautiful. Once a year, I cut them down and that's it. I had so many butterflies and hummingbirds.

You have such a pretty pool! I LOVE all the plants and flowers. They are so beautiful. Also, I have a bird nest under my deck, and you can perfectly see it from the deck! The momma bird always lays eggs in it every single year.

Congrats on finding such a great dog as Pollux...he is really something. He might have some greyhound or whippet in him...so fast when he is on a zoom meeting. Hey, 1% border collie...they are fast....his body is more like a greyhound body.

I bought dipladenia for my patio after seeing your spring tour last year. I wasn't sure how they'd do in our Seattle rain but they did great. Actually, I have pictures of them from Thanksgiving weekend - still in full bloom, covered in snow. That snow finally did them in, but there aren't too many plants out there that will bloom from May until November. This year's deck has even more of them. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for posting the info about that cantilever umbrella. The summers in Phoenix are so hot that it is even uncomfortable being in the pool. I would like to buy that umbrella so there is some space in the pool for shade. Think it will be perfect!

That pool vaccum is the BOMB!! Ours did not make it up the steps..LOL! Of course that was over 10 years ago and tech has come along way. Your backyard is heavenly. Enjoy!!

Gee, Renee--love your pool, area and the improvements so much! Thanks for the tour. The flowers are gorgeous. Honestly, Pollux has some of the attributes of a greyhound--I have a friend who rescued one and he is the sweetest dog, but he can be a fast runner and he can see 1/2 mile away..so must always be leashed or in an enclosed yard for zoomies! He loves his stuffed toys and carries them everywhere--just like Pollux! Now, the wicker set has a lot of wow factor and really makes the pool area look so classy and relaxing. Enjoy your summer--I know you will. Hello to Maxxie and Pollux!

I see that you have a mug for your channel. I wonder do you or would you consider an ice cream dish or such from your ice cream shop. I would probably never get to visit Paducah and Craving the Curls but would be so much fun to eat my ice cream here in SW Montana from an ice cream dish from Curls of KY.

Oh dear.....don’t stop calling it the wheat! I love it! Sooo miss the pine needles...used them in Atlanta but can’t get them here.....bummer! Like the new furniture and the layout! You have such a lovely home, and a lovely back yard. And it's all because you take such good care. It's a lot of work, but it shows how well you've taken care of it all. Ha Ha - that was hilarious: "no dogs on the couch" ya'all. And there they are - on the couch. What a forgiving mommy you are. You made some good purchase there for the patio - and hey, I'm thinking of looking into that Nautilus vacuum Randy has. Yes - my husband vacuums all the time too, and you've got me wondering if he'd like that robot. We went for a drive the other day, and we saw a home that had a robot lawn mower. What??? I couldn't believe it. But there it was, running around cutting the grass. What will they think of next. If only they'd make a robot that would cook our dinner. LOL. Now we're talkin.

LOL so true!! We have the DOLPHIN Nautilus CC Plus pool vacuum...and we also purchased the caddy (which we keep inside the little pool shed). The caddy holds the vacuum when not in use...and the control panel is also mounted on the caddy. I can certainly send you more pics if you would like to see them. If so, just DM me on Instagram. Your patio is just perfect. The furniture makes it so luxurious but I loved that when you sat on that couch the dog sat with you......and. you let him. It is outdoor furniture. What can he do to it? I like snuggling with my animals anyway and it looks like you do too. I hope Randy is doing well. Hopefully they will still let him eat grilled meat. Anything in moderation. I bought dipladenia flowers for my front porch pot this year because yours were so beautiful last year! I got red & white & they are doing great so far. I live in southeastern NC near the ocean, so warm, humid summers here too! Love your backyard!

I live in a high-rise apartment in downtown Chicago, so seeing your outdoor space makes me smile and drool. It's GORGEOUS! You did a perfect job of having a place to lay out, as well as visit and read/relax - plus you have the table if you want to eat! It's just a little slice of heaven! Wishing you and your family a wonderful summer of good health, laughter, and great times on the patio! Thanks for sharing! ps - Have you guys ever thought of a little feeder for squirrels and birds - or a hummingbird feeder and water fountain on the lawn? I cannot imagine how much fun Pollux and Maxxie would have watching/chasing the squirrels and birds! lol Also - you have so much sunlight - you could grow some cherry tomatoes or a bunch of little herbs!! You can get small herb boxes that rest on your fence too!

Love your back yard & I'll have to look for that furniture at Sam's! The umbrella that can be repositioned in some many ways is a winner!! I noted that your dogs don't understand the phrase, "not on the couch"! My dogs don't understand that phrase either... must be something in the "translation".

Hey Renee... Got my dipladenia’s again this year... great for south Louisiana!!! BUT I want to share something with you .... have you tried using the glamorous wash as an air freshener? When I saw this on you tube I said I have to share this with Renee!! Dilute a small amount in a spray bottle of water and shake well then spray on couches, curtains, shower curtains, bed, anything that can’t go in washer to refresh. It’s amazing. Great for dog moms!! Thought I would share! BTW... loving my new pillow you suggested. Love your channel!!! Have a great day! ☺️

So much fun creating a relaxing outside space. I also set up a new area with gazebo and new sofa, but my dogs are not allowed up there. I have 4 dogs and their paws are usually mucky so I bought them their own hammock bed which they have adjusted to. They are so spoiled and apparently can’t conceive on lying on the ground. Lol. I got it from chewy and it’s called a coolaroo elevated dog bed. With some persistence on my part they have adjusted and look quite comfortable.

Sweet, wonderful video Renee! I, like you, love to be outside with my 2 dogs. I'm envious of your beautiful yard. I've been using solar lights for several years & love the beauty. Just moved into a small home with an inside atrium. I put butterfly solar lights in the flowers that look so pretty at night. Got a kick out of Mooey's green paws!!! amazing patio. I think you should lower the doggy door by an inch a week he will get used to it being lowered and before he realises it he will be having to open it with his nose

Hi Helen! We tried that already. This is as far as we can go with the door before he refuses to go thru it. He'll just stand there and bark for hours if it's any lower. Oh well!

Do you clean your outdoors? The furniture, the fence and Gates, the outside of the house etc.? Our sitting area outside is full of dust and spiderwebs and leaves and grime every day, so I really can not enjoy all my efford i'm putting in it. I have no time to dust the grill, the furniture, the lightbulbs and to swipe the floor every weekend. That sucks. Your patio is a paradise. Greetings from germany.

Love your backyard space. I love my backyard too...it is my oasis. It might snow tonight....hopefully, nothing too drastic. This is why we don't plant anything here 'til the weekend after the May long weekend. Those "freak snowstorms"...always a possibility. Yikes! :( The patio lights looks awesome! I am so glad Pollux has such a nice outdoor space and you can tell he really enjoys it. I only have a robot vac which I love. If anything ever happens to it, I will be getting another one.

@@WelcomeToMyCurls I run mine at 2 in the morning because I am in a wheelchair and it looked no matter where I wanted to go, the vac has chosen that place to vac. Now it just runs when I am asleep and I very rarely even hear it.
