My 9 year old son with DMD has been homeschooled since Pre-K ..his Homeschool.friends are very accepting and loving towards him. I am sorry you went through bullying.
You fact that you made it through school at all is outstanding! School can be difficult even without these difficulties. Well done mate for staying strong. My son is 4 and is in reception with DMD. Just started using the mobility pushchair to get in and out of school and already getting "Why is he using that chair?".
