When Lucy/bearded dragons open there mouth in the sun or heat lamp it means there overheating

Good idea to Start out by sittin with ur dragon on u. If u put her on the chair, get some fake greenery🍀if they wont eat it watch them for that, or fake 💐 flowers as a lil bed to sit on or even better stick her in a plant harnessed to chair, . We startted out door time, on the porch and under a tree or by the house makes them feel safer def they just being a sitting duck out there nekid💌

It's so weird to see an animal that isn't a dog, on a leash. I have to admit, lol but still super cute to try. I'm guessing it's normal for a lizard or bearded dragon rather to be on a leash? I mean do people do that, take their lizards on a walk?

Def keep ur dragon close, we started with taking ours out in a shallow basket, harnessed to me or basket, and keepin them close. Close to a tree or the porch or the house. They are Def fraid of open sky and airplanes Def scare them. they know its a threat. The sound of the birds don't scare em I don't think butits anything flying over and any movement will freak em out. My Chinese water dragon didnt love going out she woukd rather hide, she used to love to sit in her plant outside and hide but still watch and enjoy. Learned my lesson to always harness. i have multiples just make its easier to keep one extra and attached to each ot their carriers. Harness10$+bucks at petco. she hated when plant leaves blew in the wind too much (she was my princess, had her 7yrs she passed at 14, we still have 2 beardeds we love everyday) don't ever turn ur head for a sec or leave ur dragon outside alone, i hate to admit, ive made that mistake before and lost each of our dragons at least once like an idiot but luckily found em I swear it's the worst anytime ur out harness ur bb dragon. Or even keep her in a carrier with netting they still get sun thru it. It's funny how we think they love the outside yet so Many aren't used to it a d get spooked and dart off or quietly roam away..theyre scared they'd rather sit with u.. the feeling I got when I lost mine (but found same day hours later)cuz I ran in the house was the absolute worst. Keep em with u at all times and always watch. Unknown Dogs cats and def wild birds can snatch em up and u Def don't want to live with an accident that coulda been avoided..I so speak from experience. So easy to get distracted omg it was the worst everrrrrr i was so mad i was dumb enuff to think i could run in the house for a sec and leave em out there alone omgash never again. The the strings go across her chest, not her legs. Put one going from the front of her right leg, under her chest to the back of the left. The other, front of her left, under her chest to the back of the right. You should have an x under her chest. Putting them around her legs, no matter how old she is, she will just throw them off. Word of advice: Don't have her outside without a harness for a long time. Like years. Beardies see more in the UV end of the spectrum. Windows filter some UV out and if she's used to seeing you under artificial lighting, you look completely different to her outside. EVERYTHING looks different to her outside in the sun. She looked nice and calm in the video but take my word for it, something as simple as you moving can cause a meltdown when she's starting out and when they feel like they have to, they can move incredibly fast! Mine was as chill as they came and actually loved a cuddle. I'd handle her every day, and she was more than comfortable. I started taking her outside when she was older than yours and she literally started having nightmares from it. No lie, real nightmares. She would duck down and try to hide herself from everything (including me if I got up and moved). Someone walking past? She'd drop as low as she could and try to hide in the grass. With time and a lot of reassurance (stroking her beard seemed to always help), she became completely comfortable outside and just wanted to run around and explore any time we were outside and no more nightmares! Unfortunately, she died a couple of weeks ago... coming out of brumation, she got hit with issue after issue stemming from what seems like some kind of auto immune condition... She made so many people smile, not least me. She was the sweetest creature I've known, and I've had a lot of different animals. Give Lucy an extra cuddle for me, for Sunny!
