That is why I prefer the Numskull line of mini arcade. More larger and more premium and robust. You can actually play on them compared to the New Wave mini toys....
I’m a big fan of this cab and I have not experienced the aforementioned joystick issue … The way the layered the graphic on these are next level … Thanks for the review and awareness to the issue people might have encountered and refreshing how NWT handled the issue …
Love both cabinets. Absolutely beautiful details especially with the Frenzy with the distressed effects and the flickering marquee light mode. Love these little pieces of beautiful arcade art! So small, but so jam packed with detail.
This little machine looks cool! I'm pretty astonished by the level of detail and craftmanship for $200.00. Very impressive. The only problem for me is that I don't collect small toys. Save it for Ken and Barbie. If they made a version of this in a size of an Arcade 1up cab or bigger, here's all my cash. A sit down version would rock as well.99% women have stated that bigger is better. 1% claim they get no complaints from me. Lol!
My Berzerk machine arrived and the coin door buttons did not light up. I sent it back last week and I am awaiting a replacement. They have great customer service.
PDubs, I have to say, the most impressive part to me about this Berzerk cabinet is the application of the side art. The way I understand it, some cabs like Berzerk got their artwork by using a stencil painted over to apply it, no vinyl stickers. It's SO AMAZING that New Wave Toys went this extra mile! Not sure if the application was painted on, but looking that way makes this recreation shine! When I was researching art for my blank canvas 3/4 scale cabinet from Rec Room Masters to turn into a Berzerk Machine, I came across some "one use" stencils that I could use to paint the artwork onto the cabinet. However, if you know me, I already don't like to mod as it is, so I decided instead to go the vinyl route instead. Still looks amazing! I really do think there might be a curse on this New Wave Toys Berzerk cabinet. I know for me I had some issues, mostly do to incorrect information in the manual (which I almost never have to use). And it's interesting, I can actually play this Replicade fine with the big black joystick topper as opposed to the gimmick banana topper that came with Food Fight, which wouldn't stay on during play. There's an actual thread on the black joystick topper that keeps it in place. I feel both toppers work well. However, I soon found out playing Berzerk on this tiny Replicade screen was near impossible for me. My old eyes just don't see as well as they used to and some games just have graphics too tiny for me to enjoy in a smaller format. But I do think it's great that New Wave Toys adds the option to output to a bigger screen and use alternate controls, but for me, since I already own a 3/4 scale Berzerk cabinet with true HAPP buttons and sticks, the New Wave Toys Berzerk will be a display piece only. It's funny, I've only played Berzerk in the arcade with the large black joystick, so I'm glad New Wave Toys added it in this package. The red ball top actually looks weird to me. It's like finding a Tron machine in an arcade without a flight stick. I've run into this on occasion, with one time seeing a funky looking thin joystick with a red button on top. Sure, I could technically play it this way, but it didn't feel right to me. I'm happy with my New Wave Toys Berzerk cabinet. I just hope they take extra care on any new releases. We should never have to say "we were just due" no matter how many of these we get. It can happen, but tighter quality control can make it happen so much less. Thanks for the review! vgv
Thanks Vegas! I've had several companies that have problems on every product I buy or receive, then this was genuinely the first time I've ever had a defective replicade, probably why I wasn't as heated as I can sometimes get.
PDubs, This review is perfect! I'm glad you didn't get heated here as I don't think there's a reason to. Getting heated for the sake of can be entertaining, but it's really not helpful in a useful review. And when that company sends the product out for free and then sends out another one for free, because they're confident that the issue is a one off, that speaks volumes to their customer service. You provided your experience wonderfully, and hopefully the same action for others, if they get a defective unit, will happen. New Wave Toys has proven again and again that they truly care about the products they release. They have a real reverence for the games they represent unlike some other companies who are just in it for a cash grab. There's a reason customer satisfaction is high for New Wave Toys and I think Berzerk is a winner. vgv
I did not get this due to the lack of Stern labeling on it. Inspired me to create my own with an iCade that was collecting dust. Has the Stern labeling and also plays other games.... I have nonbuyer's remorse though. Should have got this when on sale, since looks so cute.
Have the Qbert and 1942 - they are okay. But I would prefer to be playing half scale or real scare arcade games. Like Arcade1up size and wish New Wave Toys would go more bigger size machines. Also I still do not get why they would make 4 player machines. No way you are getting 4 people around it. Just yeah.. if anything. I noticed the people selling them are just placing them on shelves and never going to play them. Like really expensive Action Figures.
everyone like larger arcades - these are fun novelty items and I have enjoyed collecting them for years - they are not really meant to be played frequently but that's just my opinion and I'm the only one that touches these in my home so I'm not worried about getting other people to play them with me. etc.
$199? They are out of their minds this is a small toy what a joke. You own 15-20 of these? Amazing g that you have room for all of your toys big and small and the purchasing never ends. Nice.
