What if you spend less than S$5 foreign currency equivalent on a transaction while overseas? Doesn't it mean that you don't get an reward points? In this case, would it be better to use a card such as Citi Rewards since the reward points awarded is per S$1 spent and not in S$5 blocks?

In the case if I were to buy a watch overseas which will be in the 5 digits, should I still be using any credit cards? To be frank, I was ready to give cold hard cash for this transaction as credit card will have their own rates and limits to their spending rewards right?
