I completely agree with the “cheaper/expensive/affordable” statements you made!! I work in sales and we are not allowed to use any of those words because they’re all too subjective. When people ask for the cheapest product we sell, I present it as the “lowest priced”. And it’s the same when they ask for the most expensive, I say it’s the “highest priced”. When comparing prices I simply say “this is at a lower price than that” or “this is at a higher price than that”. Leaves it completely factual while still being able to compare price!
I say less expensive instead of cheap. Because my Jewelry is not cheap or cheaper by any means! It's expensive [as in all Swarovski and/or real gemstones] or less expensive [glass or not S. crystals].
Very good point, the saying ‘you get what you pay’ for isn’t always true, and sometimes you’re paying more for the name of the brand than anything, but it doesn’t always mean it’s better quality/formulation .
I can’t believe that some people really get worked up over things like that, god (not saying you’re one of those people, I get that it’s part of your job ofc). Cheaper/more affordable/less expensive/at a lower price mean exactly the same thing. Like yeah, cheaper has a bit of a negative connotation, but at the end of the day we all know what it means. Also more affordable clearly means that “more people are able to afford this”, I really can’t get what some people’s problem with that expression.
I absolutely love the Urban Decay eyeliner in shade "Rockstar". It's a lovely deep plum shade. I discovered that the Milani eyeliner in shade "plum" is absolutely IDENTICAL! I literally can't tell them apart! Really recommend it, and the brown and black are great too 😁👏🏻
For sure. I’ve purchased a handful of things upon her recommendation. We seem to have a similar skin type and all of the products so far have been awesome
Because she's drama free...sadly people prefer drama and chaos. It draws more people in...jess is none of that drama or chaos so she wont attract as many people as the bigger channels. I prefer her smaller and down to earth 🌎
I would really like a comparison video on all of the drugstore complexion enhancers and glowy primers. All of the products from the L’Oréal lumi collection(glotion, the liquid illuminator, a lumi product that comes in a dropper bottle), the physician’s formula Spotlight illuminating primer, the Nyx born to glow liquid illuminator and the primer from this line, the L’Oréal pro glow primer, the essence fresh and fit primer, and the wet n Wild luminous primer stick. Also if you could talk about each product’s wear time, that would be great as well.
I rarely comment ever for the past 10 years of watching RU-vid but I L O V E your channel. Your authenticity + personality + content are so on point. I feel so relatable to you & those are my favorite creators. Think you for ALL your reviews. I have a hard time trusting reviews & finding clear information. But you are amazing!
I feel the same way! I love her! She is naturally sweet & funny, most importantly, authentic. Unlike many RU-vidrs who try to be funny that it’s cringy to watch.
I'm so glad someone pointed this out, I get to go in the L'Oreal factory store as a guest once or twice a year and it is INSANE all the lux brands that are mixed in. Also the mark up on makeup is ridiculous y'all! There are a fair few drugstore dupes and chances are they roll out from under the same umbrella as lux 🤷🏼♀️
The first listed ingredient are similar but no the formula is not a match - but for 30 dollars less eh close enough 😅 The revlon also has a similar ingredient list - and in my opinion the revlon has the most beautiful and simple classy packaging. The other two are a bit gaudy.
They also have Lancome - the monsieur big mascara from lancome is identical to old loreal lash architect mascara that was available few years ago - it had blue packaging
I had dryness on the inside corners of my eyes too and it drove me nuts for years, until I recently realized I needed to apply eye cream to the area. Voila! Dryness gone. 😊
You’re so popular now you probably don’t have time to read all of your comments anymore, but I just want to tell you how much I enjoy your channel. Your enthusiasm and professionalism make you my favorite channel. You’re so beautiful and seem so down to earth! I wish you nothing but continued success and a lifetime of happiness!
I’m so so so happy you found the No 7 powder dupe! I loved the CT but I agree with you that the No7 is better!! It even brightens better and doesn’t kick up as much fall out like CT
We need to talk...so I can thank you for completely changing the way I think, purchase, and apply makeup! Your tips and advice has been a game changer! HG now include Misha CC Cream, WNW bronzer stick, LA Girl brow pencil, No.7 translucent compact, and of course e.l.f. New Classics palette. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️ You made an incredible difference in my entire thought process of makeup period. Love you and Gigi and Tyler!
I just have to say when you came on in the beginning with your glasses and no makeup, you looked gorgeous! Holy cow I would love to look gorgeous like that without makeup!
That's one thing I've noticed recently is that noone seems to ever tell us in videos how anything holds up against rain, humidity, or our own sweat.. that's the information I need right now so hoping that since its spring in the US that that is what they start sharing too.. I dont care how beautiful something looks if it's not going to stay on my face on a hot day...
The L’Oréal shadow in amber rush is waterproof/humidity proof. I live in Orlando and one of her old videos she mentioned she always wore it to Disney and it stayed on all day so I bought it and it’s true! I bought a few colors and it’s my go to for theme park days especially in the summer!
So much makeup, so many videos! I was confused for a moment because my first thought was, "But.......I already owned those because of a video you did"........ And now I want them again 😂
“Jessica, we get it, you have allergies...” 😂 I died laughing. And girl, I FEEL ya on the allergies being awful right now! Hope you feel better soon! 💕
Hey! I’ve been watching you forever and I just wanted to say how great it’s been watching your videos over quarantine. Most of my friends are not very into hair/makeup and watching you is such a great way to have that be a part of my life. Thank you!
Jessica, I also wear monthly contacts. I seriously can’t go without soaking them in my enzyme solution at least once a month. It seriously makes them feel like brand new contacts! Highly recommend. I use the clear care kit. 💕
When I heard you say Mac pigment in tan I was like “oh yea I’m getting that” so when you said amber rush I burst out laughing I bought it forever ago because you said it was a go to for when you went to Disney! Since then I’ve bought the infallible shadows in a few Colors and now it’s my go to for sweat/rain/humidity proof makeup for theme park days! My shadow stays perfect all day! So thanks again for the BEST recommendation!
Glad you still mentioned L’Oréal amber rush. I bought it years ago due to your dupes video and others. And I’ve traveled to the DR and worn it. It’s waterproof! No one talks about those shadows anymore but I have that one, the Stila Kitten dupe and the gold one. Love love love those eyeshadows. I thought they were discontinued but if anyone has them lying around pull them out for summer. You won’t regret it!
I bought both the Amber Rush and Iced Latte based on her prior video. I still have them and love using them, for just a little touch of shimmery color!
I ha many ELF BRUSHES. The black original brushes are some of my favorite of all time! Flawless face & complexion brushes are two brushes that I have many of. Also, the ELF blush brush is so nice to powder under your eyes 👌🏼 The Eyeshadow “c” brush is really great for cream contour especially the nose!
I have the No. 7 mascara in a gold tube, it's a tubing mascara...I can't remember the name of it. I LOVE it, but I have no idea how it compares to Thrive, I've never had that one. :)
I have both and I think I actually like the no 7 better than Thrive. Maybe doesn't hold a curl as well but it doesn't get clumpy nearly as quickly. I can't really use the Thrive because even trying to do one coat my lashes start to stick together almost right away :(
I have tried just about every tubing mascara ever since too faced discontinued their lash injection mascara a few years back. In terms of length and volume the thrive is absolutely the best out there. The No7 still flakes or smudges, barely, but it still does. The thrive doesn’t budge until you take it off. I test them by doing an overnight sleep test, it’s the only one, other than lash injection that didn’t move.
The Shop Miss A sponges are definitely hidden gems!! I feel like noone talks about them and those sponges are amazing!!! I also really like their brow products.
HOLY CRAP she did it..... She finally found a dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury powder!!! 😄😁😆😃🙌 She'd been working on finding it for a long time. Heh. 🎆🎇🎆🎇.
@@dana_tattooed_southernbell9790 oh thanks for that! 😄 I only just started getting into and wearing make up almost 2 years ago so I'm still pretty new to the circuit 😆
Funny you forgot about the L’Oréal eyeshadow dupe, because when you mentioned the Revlon micro eyeliner I’m like “I should try that!”... turns out I already own it 🤣🤦🏻♀️ Also just a thank you for all the hard work you (and Tyler) put into these videos! They are so good and it really shows 🤗
I'm definitely getting that eyeliner. I have very hooded eyes and need my line to be as thin as possible. The tiny smudger and waterproof claims are a huge plus for me. I'll also probably get one of the Revlon Melting Glass Shine lipsticks. I have the L'Oreal version in Varnished Rosewood and love it for days when I want a quick look, so I'll see what other colors I can get in Revlon's line.
@@ramonanitu7281 I haven’t tried their powder, but their foundation is what I use. It’s amazing! It lasts all day and has great coverage without being heavy. I love it
I have only recently gotten into shadow sticks (since I own 99.7% of every powder eye shadow produced, I guess it was inevitable I would have to try them). What peeks my interest is their longevity in hot weather. They seem a much better choice for long days at the theme park, sight-seeing, etc. when you aren’t going for complicated, you just want something that will stay put and look good.
I use Vaseline on my dry eyelids and face mostly during the winter months when my skin gets dry. It works so well I even use it on my hands when they’re dry. It works! Love your editing hair!!
Noticed this too and I feel it's down to the bronzer. The Fenty bronzer is deeper and less yellow than the Milani one, so was more flattering on Jessica imo.
These kinds of videos are my all time favorites. I know they take a lot of effort to find these dupes..... so thanks so much! Especially since I only buy affordable products. As an older sub, I will say that the No. 7 powder did not work for me, but the Flower Beauty Light Illusion powder did!
I used to love MAC Paint Pots but I've been trying to only purchase cruelty free makeup for the past few years and I've struggled to find anything comparable, those Revolution primer pots could be lifechanging! Probably the only person watching this to be the most excited about the eye primer of everything haha, thank you for sharing xxx
Naomi A. Spring Did you just guess or was it obvious to you? To me, her right side (our left as we look) appeared much smoother and more defined than her left. I think many of us didn’t need to guess at all!! I still loved the video though
Two more LM caviar shadow dupes: Sally Beauty's COL-LAB line Ultimate Eyes Cream Eye Color in 9 shades for $7.59 each (cartridge crayons), and Sephora Colorful Shadow & Liner (pencil crayons) in over 40 shades for $14. Both are terrific, especially with primer! Great dupes video, Jessica!!
The first eyeshadow sticks I ever used were by Julep and I have so many shades. I used to use them almost exclusively for years. They are sooo quick and easy when you're in a rush. I don't use them as much nowadays, but the CoverGirl nude one works really well as an eyeshadow primer.
Agreed! Elf is amazing cuz it’s vegan and cruelty free tho and colourpop has a ton of great vegan options too and is a cruelty free brand :) (not sure if u care about vegan or not lol I just recently switched to only buying vegan as well as cruelty free and elf has been a lifesaver)
Girl how gorgeous are you without a stitch of makeup and all curly!? Every time you showed an insert 💗☺️🌺 NYX Stay Matte is $9.50 on Ulta site right now...so probably going no where! Love this whole video! 💗
Yup I’ve ALWAYS said the No7 is far better than the CT. I’ve also found perfect dupes for her Pillow Talk lip liners 1, 2 & 3 too & im pretty sure they’re in the L’Oréal Infallible &/or Colour Riche lines. 1/3 the price.
Sometimes I use a dry brush after applying a cream shadow stick on my lid instead of using my finger. Works better for more precise application or better blending than fingers, or if I am using more than one color.
Your editing was a little more extra today, this whole video had me laughing so hard!!! Thanks for putting so much effort into your videos, it really shows :)
The freaking AOA sponge.... unmatched. I also love the elf sponge (yes it absorbs more product but that is the key to not looking cakey!!) I just ordered 5 more of the AOA sponge since my real techniques and elf sponges are ripping. Less than $10 including shopping. UN MATCH ED.
I love when you say “the store near me” I always say “called Meijer”. I’m in Michigan and absolutely love Meijer. Glad someone else out there is giving it some love as well.
When I was obsessed with makeup years ago I always primed my eyes. Back then the urban decay & the Mac paint pots were big. I wasn't as into MAC as so many were so I did UD. After some time tho, I just started using concealer. Lol. I recently got back into makeup and decided to start using primer again. Bit the bullet & bought painterly. Lol. And tbh, I'm really pleased with it..
You’re personality is EVERYTHING! I very much am pleased and happy to see someone using products and showing what they look like on skin, without all those filters that blank out everything n doesn’t look real, or give a real outcome of how it looks on the skin. .. I haven’t watched beauty channels lately, everyone does the same makeup, look the same, same personality, same products, and use a filter that is so opposite of what makeup on skin really looks like. So happy I randomly stumbled onto this video of yours, definitely going to be watching more of your videos and have subbed. 😊
The L'Oreal Double Extend Tubing Mascara is lovely! I lived in Cairo for years and mascara just melted on me raccoon eyes all the time ugggg...A friend had me buy the L'Oreal and I have never looked back...it stays put and comes off with water....plain old water. Watched a video and they recommend a double coat of the primer then the color. Well worth the effort for the ease of removal and stay put formula.
I used to have a dry spot on my left eyelid for YEARS and it would never go away. Once I started to use castor oil for eyelashes, the dry patch just disappeared!! There have been times I don’t use the oil to let my lashes breath natural and the patch didn’t return. So maybe try a small amount of regular castor oil on the patch?
Try a tiny dab of rose hip seed oil on your dry patches. Be careful since it’s at the corner of your eye so not to get it into your eye. Let it set for a minute and swab any excess with a q-tip. It works wonders on the eye area.
Jessica can you please do a best drugstore concealer I have dry skin and can’t do the heavy Camo concealers but have dark under eyes I need your help!!! Also if you could find a momma budget friendly dupe for the tart maneater mascara lol
you should do a shop missa makeup video ! i love their fat lash mascara so much ! it’s the only mascara i own that won’t smudge and isn’t waterproof! other products i recommend are the eyebrow pencils the lip masks, brow soap, liners, setting powders and bath products, id love to see how you like them (:
I don't have the thrive causemetics mascara but I love the Maybelline snapscara which is also tubing. It's so easy to remove and gives my lashes a natural yet really full and feathery effect🤷🏼♀️
Thank you for the CT powder dupe. I hardly hit pan on products and I've hit pan twice using that powder... so super excited to hear No. 7 is a dupe. I look forward hearing the rest. AND... if can do a No. 7 only tutorial, that would be great. I heard about it first from Lisa Eldridge who worked for them and created one of their lip pencils. (She probably created more, I'm curious.)
Yes the no7 lift powder is amazing. So are their skincare products. I have dryness on the inner corner of my eye. I have normal to dry skin. The loreal infallible shadows are AMAZING!! Id loveeeee to see you step out of your comfort zone and do a colorful pastel look.
I just spit out my coffee when you popped into the video while editing when talking about how long it was going to take to edit 🤣🤣 I died laughing. As always great video!
I just purchased the No 7 powder. I am extremely picky about powder being too cakey underneath my eyes. I typically set with my hourglass ambient lighting palette. The no 7 powder that you recommended provides a bit more coverage without being cakey. Thanks for the recommendation.
