Jett Lawrence at southwick, Millville, washougal, unadilla, budds creek, Ironman outdoor races and Charlotte, Chicagoland, and la coliseum SuperMotocross races #motocross #supercross #dirtbike
I'ts just unreal how good this kid is. Ive watched Motocross for 25 years and he is probably the best iv'e ever seen already at 20 years old. Kid will break all the records 👏
Fantastic footage Matt ! You're one of those lucky people who can see the finesse 👌 many can't ! The kid is unreal, although he makes it look easy and like he's not trying, I think he's actually working as hard as, to man handle the bike 💪💪. The outdoor footage is basically like watching Stephen Everts, I think Jet was force fed Everts videos as child 😂
Well, for sure Jett Lawrence is the best motocross rider I have ever seen in my life, and I have been following (and riding when I was young) motocross for over 50 years. He is just so stinking talented. He has an absolute "natural" talent for it. Coupled with his desire and passion, that is a very difficult combination to beat. Just an amazing young man. We love watching his journey.
@@mattburkeen820 - He is certainly a special talent, with a great personality. It will be fun to watch his career progress. A lot of really great talent on the motocross tracks these days. Pretty exciting. The young guys have talent and nerves of steel. They are some of the toughest guys I have ever seen.
Aside from this kid's amazing bike skills, gotta commend you on your production effort. Sucked that you weren't able to race those events but looks like you sure made the best of it. Can't imagine all the editing time it took to find and piece this all together. Wouldn't be surprised if you hear from the jetson himself about it. Nicely done.
Thank you I really appreciate that! Made it during the flight to Boise so I had some time on my hands. Would have rather been racing at these but had to make myself useful while I was there, no choice!
He rides so smoothly, making it look easy, all the while going faster than everyone else… definitely the GOAT of this generation. Time will tell if he can match Ricky and others.
The very first clip is insane. He uses a breaking bump to make a step down double at Southwick. You have to have raced Southwick to know how wild that is. That corner is so tricky. You're carrying speed downhill through breaking bump with this little drop off wall before the corner. Mind blowing
You don’t have to have raced there haha I would like to maybe turn one lap at southwick and if I don’t fall over I’m good riding at his pace man I couldn’t imagine
He does that more than once and in multiple locations once a sand track gets used and used and used you get those massive bumps and fitness starts to be paramount.
Totally relaxed, rides light, slows it down to go fast, using the first braking bump to seat bounce the rest of them........ I wonder how much video the rest of the riders will watch of him to find his speed? Thanks Matty! Big shout out to Superfan and the co-pilot too!
For me, nothing was more exciting to watch than peak James Stewart. Budds Creek last-to-first, Toronto 2014, etc. Jett might just be the most efficient rider we’ve ever seen though. His ability to pick the right lines and conserve energy is simply unreal. I suspect the next generation coming up right now is studying Jett’s technique more than anyone else. If everyone stays healthy this year’s supercross season is gonna be insane! Someone like Barcia is gonna be like, “I hope I get a top 10”
That's the problem with Jett. Unless you're a pretty good rider who can understand he looks boring. To those of us that really ride it's the most amazing thing we've ever seen Jett looks like a top pro play riding at 60 percent
@@mattburkeen820 oh don’t get me wrong, Jett is a thing of beauty to watch. Can’t wait to see how supercross plays out, as I think some of the old guard might just purposely bang him around a little to see how he responds. Starts will be where it’s at
The problem with Jett is you have to be a pretty good rider to understand how amazing he is. It's not like watching tomac or Carmichael ride where it's obvious they are beast. Unless you're a total moto nerd Jett looks boring on a bike. To anyone who really rides it's the most amazing thing we've ever seen
his flow state is incredible so that helps, Dungey was more of a perfect machine and Jett is just perfect flow like James Stewart Suzuki era without the mistakes and bad luck
He’s going to be one of the best ever at any age to swing a leg over a bike. I’ve watch this sport for 50 years and have never seen a rider ride a bike like he does.
Kinda reminds me of K-Dub, when he was on his A game, style wise. But Jet is on his A game all the time! It's cool how he just pops over stuff that everyone else is hammering through.
This video is awesome. If you watch it at .25 speed you can learn a lot about body position on the bike. A lot of close up footage so you can see things you wouldn't see on just a regular video of a national race. If you did feature videos like this on pro riders it would be great for those interested in technique. Nice work!
I love the type of grind you put into moto and your fans. Admire what you get to do with the coolest people in the game. I used to be track friends with Ricky and I’ve know him when he was on 65cc. It was an honor to know him at such a young age. I know the feeling you get being around the top dogs in our sport. Have fun bro like always. No Choice lol.💯🇺🇸👊🤙🙏✌️👍
I very much endoy seeing this footage. Such smooth riding. Only a few guys I could watch. Tomac, JS7 etc. Just a blast to watch how smooth /fast riding can be
To some people, the best part of this video is watching Jett ride. To the og's, the best part of this video is hearing the 2 strokes hang it out at Washougal 😂
Goddammm does he make it look easy!!... Honda has their suspension working flawlessly and he's letting her do the job at hand... very impressed as I watch these isolated clips. It's gonna a be a exciting 2024! Eli is my pick but that's because I rode and favor "beast mode" over finesse... plus it's more exciting to watch!
Thanks again for a epic edit!Proud Aussie 🇦🇺 so totally biased. Stats wise apparently Stewart is the best teenager ever. I think Jett will be the real Goat by the time he retires. Even Ricky says so
watch his bikes susp! That bike is set up better than anyone elses. Last time i saw a bikes susp set up that well was Ken Rczens 2016 RMZ450 in the outdoor nationals.
Dances around the track like mix between Stewart and herlings in his prime in the sand but in his own way so impressive the best overall package since stewy
i think he has faster than normal rebound in the rear to pop over that stuff and sometimes gets caught off guard hence why he gets pushed over the bars almost but has the strength to save it
Yeah the kid is insane. How stacked is 2024 going to be, especially the start of SX with Prado. There are like 10 guys who can take a race win and at least 5 solid championship contenders on paper before getting a look at how they ride at least
@@mattburkeen820 yeah big time i think about it hourly haha, imagine Prado comes to AMA next year full season, and maybe other MXGP GP guys with the money that's coming in now. Seems like a time of growth about to happen and I'm all about it
One thing I noticed about jet he keeps his back wheel behind his front wheel and he also hops over the rough parts of the track and another he shifts up to the next gear he don't try to stretch one gear to long
Millville clips…ridiculous. Especially the last clip from that round…I wish the average person could understand how insane that is to do, and to be in that kind of state of mind to even be able to do that. Just flowwing
I hope HRC is paying Johnny-O at least a cool $1m a year now. Because I'm betting much of this technique (using bumps, to jump entire bumpy sections, etc.) is where Jett got it from since it was an O-Show specialty!
I could totally be wrong on this but I think Jett would still be doing that with or without Johnny o, Johnny helps obviously but it’s all up to Jett no one can make him do this sick stuff lol
@@mattburkeen820 It requires both a great Trainer & Rider to rise to the level Jett is at in such a short bit of time. I was on the track @ Saddleback in the day...when Johnny-O was doing stuff like this. "Ride smarter, not just harder." Look back at Jett's progression 'slowing' down to go faster, since he came under Mr. O's tutelage. ;) Great footage! by the way : )
Be interesting to see tracks like he does at speed. Where and what he sees is so impressive it makes him actually look slow sometimes when hes going much faster than anyone 😮 you see him go by and it looks so smooth you think hes a lapped rider sometimes but he definitely isn't. Just this last season is enough if he never wins again to change the sport at the highest level
I think Jetts riding is poetry in motion by I wouldn't get as far as saying he's the best teenager in history until we see what Deegan does this year. Actually Deegan was the best rookie in 15 years according to RACERX guy yesterday. You can go check it out. That Stat guy that does the stats has the stats. Deegans rookie numbers were better then Jetts. We have a aging 450 class and the young riders moving should be faster and fitter. I can't wait until Deegan moves up to the 450 class to mix it up with the brothers copper is moving up Sexton is only 23 and then you have Webb Eli Anderson and a few others at 30 or 31. To me they actually don't really have a great chance at taking the Championship or beating the brothers. They might get a win or 2 and some podiums, but we will see my predictions last year about Jett and Deegs were spot on.
Side note. When people say jett was so dominant because it was a weak field is false. Theres only 3 riders that can possibly beat him. Sexton, ferrandis, and tomac. Sexton and ferrandis had their chance and couldnt beat him. We'll see if Tomac can get it done in 24. Im rooting for Eli
Jetts so good and smooth he looks slow when he’s not around dudes. it’s crazy. Danger boy looks so fast cause he’s kinda sketchy pushing hard as possible …. Jett just looks bored lmaoooooo
@@mattburkeen820 so now you speak for Ricky and James, actually they probably would say that because they are both humble guys, it wouldn't mean much though.
@mattburkeen820 yep, that's my thoughts too, I'd be really interested to see how he adapts his style. I'm sure he would love it too. My prediction is he will embarrass the entire field next year, I see another MC in Jett.
So are 4 strokes easier to ride if I rode to a kx100 in the inter opens at a national level ? (used to be called Schoolboys but now would be juniors) I'm fully competent on a 2 stroke to a high standard.
U gota raise ur speed up for 2024 maddie seems like Jett doesnt even break much on outdoor just rolls the throttle and never touches the clutch and is out of the corners gone u twist the throttle hard on yz 250 i dont no where u can gain speed i think u gota ride press day from now on get used to track u really dont get chance in qualfying
So do u have to have surgery or ready to get back training first year i live in kentucky id go ride on track when it was twenty degrees i didnt push that hard those days just tryna keep fit dont know how Tomas train in colorado in winter i think they have all arena out there but not very big
Jett is so much faster than the rest of the field but the rest of the field aren't very fast. If there was a Villopoto, Stewart or Tomac in there I suspect he wouldn't be looking so in control. It'll be different in 24.
@@mattburkeen820lol yeah it’s like those other factory riders are average 😂 funny that’s how good Jett is haha normal spectators think rest of field suck haha
