This makes me so happy. My mother fell for this exact scam last year and lost fifteen thousand dollars. Instead of a coin star they had a courier come pick up cash from the house. It humiliated and terrified my mom, who is a bright and thoughtful woman. I hope more people learn about this scam and are able to protect themselves and their families.
It occurs to me that when you don't want to hear the scammer, it might be good to turn down the mic or put your hand over the mic, as you do when you are pretending to talk to someone else. In this case you'd be peering at the screen, and only returning to the phone to give him an update, with the volumne coming from distant to near as you start talking.
@@carlisroy6666 the elderly people the scammers take advantage of obviously, that’s why I described it the way I did because they were frustrating a predator in the way they were. Didn’t realize this all required explaining.
@@absolutelyfookinnobody2843 Well, the devil/demons normally punish sinners depending on the way they sinned in life... So yeah, I'd say is poetical justice and a superb diabolical work
My grandmother got that same call… but they don’t know my grandmother.. they said i had gotten drunk, and in a fight, and gotten in jail. My grandmother said, “if he found his way into jail, he can find his way out!!!” Proud of you grandma!!
My grandparents fell for the same scam. Fortunately, they didn't send any money, but they were about to. They called us to confirm it, and said to us, "He said he was my grandson, but it didn't sound like him!"
I've never seen this show before, but while I watched it it kept my attention and made me laugh harder and more than I laughed at any show situation comedy or otherwise and I don't know how long. The difference is I wasn't laughing at the scripted words of a writer... I was laughing at the dilemma you were putting this poor scammer dude in boohoo and I was also laughing at the amazing vocal control of this scam buster I doff my hat to you sir as I too do voices, and vocal sound effects and fully realize how difficult it is to stay on a voice once you get excited and begin laughing. Great job all the way around😊 now I subscriber
honestly its pretty cool. I image they want the reputation of trolling scammers. Maybe it makes future scammers choose another cite for their money laundering, keeping kraken a bit cleaner.
@@KitbogaShowjust like people who post mean comments. It's very easy to disassociate when the other person is through a phone or screen. Thankfully these videos help bridge the gap making It harder for them to sleep at night. Thank you.
Someone tried this on my father in law. Pretended he was my husband and was hurt, in jail, and needed bail. My father in law asked why he didn't call his mother. The caller said they didn't want mom to know. My father in law answered. "She won't. She's been dead for 16 years." and hung up.
@@jammyherring6912 That really sucks 😒. I understand why she kept it to herself but it's always unfortunate when victims do, it makes the chance of getting something back even smaller. Hope she recovered and could leave it behind her.
Kraken Agent: "Can you read every 3rd letter first? Then every second?" Scammer: "Let me just read it to you normally" Kraken Agent: "Ok then were taking a chance now." 💀💀💀
It's crazy that a scammer can be so gullible and not recognize how ridiculous this is. He literally does this same thing to people on a daily basis, it's so ironic 😆
The ego is too big. He was so adamant about saying what he wanted the exact way he wanted it to be, and rather than trying to switch up his approach, he instead opted to repeat himself endlessly and scream louder.
I loved that "No NO NOOOOOOO" "Go? He said 'go'." It reminds me of a previous video of reading back a code, Kit's one character asking "was that 'I' or 'Y'?" Kit's other character "he said 'I'" Scammer "No, NO, 'Y' I said 'Y'!" Kit "Why did we do what?"
And that sort of thing is why there's a *standard* phonetic alphabet, designed to avoid misunderstandings. "Foxtrot" sounds nothing like "Sierra". I don't know why people who do this sort of thing over the phone don't just learn the standard, instead of all this "B as in boy" nonsense.
OMG This is the EXACT scam my grandpa frantically called me about ages ago. Exactly that. I got in a car accident, had a broken nose, and was in jail. So glad he called me
When Kit brings Nick on, witnessing the scammer go through the phase of “oh finally, someone sane to talk to” only to realize the chaos has increased by an order of magnitude is amazing 😂🤣😂
I live and work in Sedona, AZ. A retirement community. I work at our local grocery store, and we watch out for our seniors trying to get large amount of gift cards, mainly apple cards. We take the time to let them know its a scam. We do our best. Since it's a small community, we can see right away it's a scam. Please continue your show, because i show them your videos. You're saving a lot of seniors from being scammed.
The character is spot on. I have talked to numerous customer service people who talk like her and they always say "ok PERFECT" like it's in a training handbook or something. He just needs to pitch it up a bit more because for some reason women (including myself) always speak as high pitched as possible on CS calls 😆
Those scammers are Dominicans. From Dominican Republic. Specifically from the Cibao area, Santiago. I know because I’m from the same country. Great job. I hope they catch them.
@@JBLZFTW That's part of it of course, we see him mute to let it out from time to time as well. But the selfcontrol to not break out into laughter mid-sentence is insane.
It's impressive how good Kit is at barrelling through while someone is yelling at him now. Even while Nick is bogged down by the scammer's screams Kit just carries on uninterrupted. A real talent 😂😂
It's so gross to me that all of these scammers, no matter the scam, say "MY money". Disgusting people. Thanks as always for your hard work, and massive cheers for Nick for joining along.
@@tyraster8603 I mean, in context, they already view it as their money, which was my criticism. Their attitude and entitlement with their attempted theft. If you want to nit-pick the English, they could say 'the money', for example.
...what? What makes you think authorities don't take it seriously? Because they aren't making funny RU-vid videos about it? Law enforcement/government agencies likely do immense amounts of work dealing with these situations all the time. Why the pointless pessimism?
@@GSPV33 Government officials don't take anything seriously unless it directly effects them or financially benefits them. Scam baiters have had more of an influence and have done more to help victims in the last decade than any government has in the past three decades.
It's so great, because with these scammers their time is their money, and any time they spend on Kit is time they don't get to spend scamming others. And it turns into fantastic entertainment.
😂 How quickly he went from not trusting Kelly’s competence & asking to speak with “Peter” alone, to demanding that Kelly corroborates what happened so Peter understands
This guy is from the DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. I recognized the accent immediately when he spoke Spanish briefly. His American accent is really good, except when he gets super agitated lol
I dont belive in heaven or hell, don't know your opinion, and whatever but put her in heaven and him in hell. Sorry for your loss think about the good times
This scam was used on my grandparents in 2016. They lost $4,000. My grandmother swore it was my voice on the phone, explaining how I was in a car accident, driving without a liscense, broken my nose and in jail. A couple years ago the same scam was done on my grandpa, just a month or so after my grandmother had passed away, only this time they said my brother was in a car accident. My 80 year old grandpa, who used to be a sailor in the navy back in the 50s, cussed them out. It brings myself and my mom such joy to see you getting them so upset, thank you so much for your hard work.
My mom at age 80 got a call about my nephew. She had early stages of dementia, and she said it sounded exactly like my nephew. She did have enough sense to ask " where is your father right now?' in an effort to vet the scammer. My brother was out of the country and scammer hung up.
OMG, you’re the best ever and I’m still laughing from the last call! If you’re this “fun” in your day to day life you must be a great friend to have. Thanks for the laughs!!!
"I sense a bit of anger." "You must have misspoke." "Are you unwell?" "We want you to be satisfied with our service." "Just hit refresh, that should fix it." OMG, this is so priceless!
I listened to this (audio only) on my drive home from work. I almost crashed my car because of the tears in my eyes from laughing so hard! His exasperation was so palpable. Good times.
The fact that many of these scammers have caused the ruin of so many good people's lives, pulling a prank on them like is enormously merciful and kind.
Wdym? This is the best customer service. I admit they are pretty stupid and deaf but hey at least they spoke nicely and even offer bonuses until the end 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It didn't seem like it was humour, it was a nervous laughter. He's thinking something to the lines of "This b- is ruining my life and making jokes about it".
This sounds like the exact same scam my grandma fell for. Sadly she is now passed. I miss her, and it makes me so proud to had such a great grandma that would shell out thousands of dollars for me like that when she was living on social security. Thats real love right there. It angers me these assholes prey on the elderly. Thank you for getting them back. Miss you, Yama!
It always sounds stupid but it's easier to fall for these than it seems. I almost bit the pge scam. I knew my power bill was past due and they called from an official pge number. It wasn't until my wife stopped me "why are you using zelle to pay pge" and i was like yeah now that you day it like that it sounds really stupid. But it works because they pressure you "power shut off in 30 minutes" and my brain shut down.
@@blaisemacpherson7637 they specifically target old, tech-illiterate people or people with mental health issues. No regular functioning adult should be falling for these, unless Darwin is trying to send a message.
I love that you view it that way. You SHOULD be proud to have a generous, protective grandma who worked hard and saved money for the exact reason of having it to take care of her family. It’s awful and unfair that it happened to her but on her end there were only positive traits on display. She must have loved you very much.
A couple of years ago my late father got a call from a scammer pretending to be with a law enforcement agency. He was told that his teenage grandson, my nephew, had been arrested in a nearby city, and they needed $5000 to bail him out. The scammer mentioned him by name and everything. Fortunately my dad was living with me at the time and told me about it immediately. At first I thought that it was a serious situation and hurriedly called my brother, who assured me that his son was in fact at home, safe and sound. In my panic and concern I didn't take the time to think that something was off, but my brother mentioned that I was probably a scam. I was relieved that my nephew wasn't in serious trouble, but I can see how an elderly person with no one around could fall for this.
If I had to guess, this goofball is probably running his scam business on his own; probably in an apartment. I can only imagine what his neighbors had to hear through the walls. "YOU HAVE THE WRONG WALLET!!"
Yup same here I noticed right away. The FBI raided most of them, They got from 10 to 15 years in prison. Also most of them are already in jail and they have cell phone and laptop.
They tried doing this exact same scam to my Gramps! Told them I was in a car accident from reckless driving and was telling him that I wanted him to bail me out and not tell my parents due to embarrassment. Fortunately he called my mom, who contacted me, to where I contacted my Gramps directly so crisis adverted. There's a special place in hell for these types of scammers.
Anyone who tries to contact my mother to tell them I've been in a car accident is going to be in for a surprise. One, I spend most of my time with my mother, since we live together, so if one of us is in an accident we probably both are. Two, I can't drive, so she's the most likely driver if I've been in an accident.
I got scammed when I was a minor after I made over 2k at my first summer job. I’d never seen that much money in my life and I spent the whole summer saving. I was so excited to have my own money for once. Then, a scammer reached out to me saying some pretty threatening and scary things like this, and I panicked & fell for it. The scammer also knew specific info about my family and even knew how young I was & used all that to his advantage. I used to be so ashamed over it, and sometimes I still do to this day, but these videos genuinely help me not feel alone (and they crack me up too). Thank you for doing this👍❤️
Cheyanne, i felt that way after an auto accident i had when i was 17. I just felt dread when i thought about it. Im 65 now and was talking with my family and most of them didnt even remember it! So get rid of self condemnation. You are free from that. You didnt do anything wrong!
That's a tough lesson, but you definitely learned from it and got some really valuable knowledge. Yes it came with a price, but there's no reason at all to feel ashamed over it.. I actually courage you to share your first hand experience with the people around you. You can prevent other people from getting scammed and I applaud you for sharing your story.
Thank you ‘Kelly & Peter’ for doing what you do. Evidently I’m lucky to be alive & still able to function properly (with minimal confusion) at age 75. I didn’t know this fraudulent and disgusting behavior has become so routine for bottom feeders to use to rob people of their money. I’ve been scammed - and with my sole source of income being a monthly SocSec check, have suffered financial hardships as well as suffering guilt & humiliation that comes with it. Thank you again…😊
Bless you! Hang in there! Don't feel guilty, anyone can be deceived by these people. Just chalk it up to a life lesson and keep your head up and go on, and you can help other people through your experiences! Maybe even participate in a class at the local library making other people aware of this diabolical scam plan.
@@PyrPupMom Hey PupMom, that’s a good idea, thank you. I wonder if our little Senior Citizen Center might be interested in this ? I agree that almost anyone is ‘scammable’ but I’m guessing these thieves stereotype older folks as uberly gullible, stupid and easy targets - but what they don’t know is you usually don’t make it all the way to a ‘senior citizenship’ by being stupid for so many years ! 😂
Had my elderly neighbor recently scammed by a bitcoin scam. It's so sad, she's so upset. We filed a police report. I explained these different scams, we secured her account and will take her device to a store to check for threats. These people are evil and it infuriating what they get away with. God bless Kitboga and all scambaiters for the justice the provide!
God Andrew was such an evil person, and as a scammer he was scarily logical compared to the average person Kit talks to. His genuine crying is food for the soul
Some scammers are scary smart. I've heard of some scam retail workers and do so by memorizing the names of other staff members, including managers and regional managers. They'll trick them into taking the cash from safes and registers, deposit them into their own personal accounts and wire the money to the scammers.
@@SerenissimaRepublica I'm a big fan of scam baiting, and may-or-may-not have done some myself back in the early 2000s when it was still the "Nigerian Prince" emails .....

I was standing outside my car and when they started screaming "No Kelly noooo DO NOT HIT SEND" I had to do the pee dance and squirted a little pee anyway. 😂😂
The full VOD of this call is legitimately hilarious. Towards the end the scammer tries to read the wallet address again, gets a single letter in, and Kit just says "no" and both him and Nick are in tears.
@@altervalna9104he prolly means the twitch stream. Most of the time it takes a month or two for Kit’s team to edit the video, and Twitch has probably already removed the stream. More Kitboga will probably post it soon enough.

I love that they kept the scammer tied up long enough to keep him from bothering anyone else. And he was probably so frazzled after this that he might have been out of commission for a while.
The constant gaslighting and the little "have a drink of water and calm down" is such a reversal on them! Glad you were able to waste their time and get that information to the professionals that can use it to help prevent this in the future!
