NOTES: 1. Clarify your scalp regularly (Naptural85 cleanses once a week) Don't wait longer than 2 weeks 2. Truly moisturize your hair regularly. Oils, Aloe Vera, Water and a sealing butter. Don't just use oil 3. Get trims. Some people like to schedule regular trips. Naptural85 only trims when she sees split ends 4a. Try to do gentle styling. Limit hairstyles that stress the root such as a slick ponytail and slicked back looks. Be careful of what accessories you're using in your hair. 4b. Take your time and detangle 4c. Make sure you are in a good mood when you are detangling 5. Use protective style. Don't just leave it, make sure your hair is styled gently 6. Keep hair stretched. Such as twist and braid outs. Shrunken hair from wash and gos can cause more wear and tear. 7. Choose healthy hair products. Reach for products that are better for your hair 8a. Drink more water and less sugary drinks. Even if the sugar is healthy, you should limit the sugar. Drinking a lot of caffeine is BAD for hair growth 8b. Be careful with the alcohol that you're drinking 9. EXERCISE! It get's the blood flowing and pumping through your body. It works similar to the inversion method and massaging your scalp.

I have a child so i dont have time to take out all my braids at once. This way i can do the braids throughout the day. Hope this helps 🙂

1. Wash your hair/scalp. AGREED. After cowashing for 1.5 yrs, I've decided to go back to frequently cleaning my scalp due to the itch and hairbreakage ive experience. 2. Moisturizing. 😒Yes, oil is not enough. I've learned the hard way it just sits on top and get all over my pillows and wraps instead of my hair where it needs to be. Going back to leave-ins. 3. Trim. Nope. I do not apply any heat whatsoever so skipping. 4. Gentle styling. YEP! My scalp gets sore from all the tugging/pulling from the ponies causing breakage from the root. 5. That wide tooth Comb. I had 3 and i wasn't using them. Shamw on me. Finger detangling is always a must now that i know how to do it properly with conditioners before washing. 6.Healthy Products. Agreed 1000% A lot of these "natural" products still have the same toxic chemicals we're all trying to avoid. Same pig different lipstic. Switching to products from bak in the day. Okay, thank you.

GrowingDryTightlyCoiledNaturalHairWithGwyn I did it nearly every day. My hair was shoulder blade length stretched. I’d do a wash and go and it would shrink to right above my shoulders or shorter. I just flat out stopped doing twist outs and wore wash and go’s for like 9-10 months and my hair gradually broke off. The coils would tangle, I noticed a lot more single strand knots. And my hair was brushing up on everything. That was back in 2016 and my hair still hasn’t fully recovered just yet. Wash and go’s have to be a “sometimes” style for me.

HiThereLindsey washing and redoing hair after 5 days or so wont lead to hydral fatigue... deep conditioning too much and washing daily can... what i mean is by day 7 my hair is super dried out so instead of replenishing moisture when its gone i find its best to try to just maintain the moisture. By the time you hair is dried out its even more prone to breakage... i also incorporate protein deep conditioners monthly.

First off Whitney I love you and your call to action for the natural hair, brown skin babes❤️! I finally officially went natural 2 years ago by doing the big chop. I made several attempts prior to and would get so frustrated that I’d call it quits and go back to the creamy crack😫🤦🏾‍♀️. After many failed attempts I decided I’d do my homework and learn about natural hair products. I watched hundreds of videos and stumbled across your channel🙌🏾! Huntie I had to grab a notebook.....to hell with a piece of paper. I learned so much from you and I thank you so much. I tried everything you recommended and used it until I figured out how it worked with my hair. You are a godsend. Since my journey many of my family and friends have now gone natural and they are loving the journey. What I love most about you is that you educate us on how to fall in love with the strands we have not the ones you have❤️. I now love my texture which I once hated especially as a child😢. I love how healthy my hair is now. I love this video because I get the same question as you....how did you grow your hair so fast? They don’t understand lol. Now I can send them to this video! Thanks again. Love & blessings😘

Thank you SO much for what you've mentioned. I've never done a wash and go because I've learned my hair grows best when stretched 🤷🏽‍♀️. Twistouts have always helped in retaining my length. Also, the protective styling point is so KEY to growth. There are some people who really don't believe in doing it but it is seriously a major component in natural hair growth. There's no magic product/method in growing healthy hair --it's all about good practices!

I'm just proud of you and very proud of your products. I explained in my praise of your new hair products how my hair is very thin and it clumps knots over top of knots and several knots up and down my hair in facebook. It looked like a spider web of knots. Your products helped relieve me of that problem and reduce the time it takes to declump knots. What I didn't take into effect was the hair tips you give, like separating the hair to wash it and adding products, and twisting or plaiting my hair. I just put it in a quick pony tail. When I noticed my hair thinning even more from the clumping and knotting. I decided to change my stubborn ways and try washing a section at a time even though I have very thin hair and it didn't really seem important to separate but wash it quickly together. When I made the change in how I washed my hair and noticed a difference in having less hair loss I was thrilled. Now, I wait for my hair to recuperate for the damage. Thank you! #Melaninbae#

I love wash n gos but I finally realized that I got single strand knots and my hair would dry out which made me add more and more products on my fine high porosity medium density hair so sadly I had to stop wearing them. So I now realize the two strand twist is my best option for my hair to grow longer. I'm at bra strap length when stretched and ironed out. Being natural is definitely about trial and error when it comes to styles and product's

I have been growing my hair out for about 3 months and I have just been keeping my hair in cornrows and washing it about twice a month and this has REALLY been helping my hair grow and RETAIN LENGTH. what's important is that I keep my ends moisturized and just about twice a day I moisturize the ends with shea butter and water. I oil my scalp just about every other day and when I just feel my hair needs it, I spray my hair with water.

Hey Whitney 👋. I freaking love you ❤️ and I have been following your channels since the beginning of my Natural Hair journey for almost 7 years. I'm a cosmetologist who specializes in Natural Haircare. Just want to say that on average no matter what hair type or race, everyone's hair begins to split every 3months. So it's best to trim ⅛ of an inch or less (assuming that's the only damage they have) just as it's starting to split. At the end of the year clients retain more length than when they wait longer than 3months. So that's 4 trims a year or 1 trim a season. This eliminated a ton of problems including excessive shedding/ tangling/ dryness/knots and keeps a cute shape. However that is the average recommendation. I believe your hair is stronger than most and can go longer without a trim. Some people need them a little sooner. I just wanted to explain the reason for scheduling trims as you mentioned in your video. I'm so thankful for all that you do for the natural hair community and will definitely be purchasing some of your products. Love ya, stay true. 🤗😉
