It's nice seeing people who are only a little overweight be proactive and lose it before they become obese. That's the situation I'm in and there are so many people with opinions against me dieting because I'm only half a stone or so over. Edit: funny thing is when I went back to working at McDonald's the weight fell off!
I hate how when you're just slightly over; everyone says, "oh, you don't need to worry; you don't need to diet." Why can't friends and family just support my opinion instead of trying to derail me.
I would actually LOVE a supermarket that only sold 100 calorie packages, how awesome would it be to go to a store & buy the exact calorie intake needed a day?? I already love cooking so this would be a cake walk
I'd love it too, except for all the extra waste. If we could somehow get a zero waste shop that would sell portions of 100kcal without putting it all in separate packages, that'd be ideal.
@@Anna133199 for crisps and candies, having them in like a tray that's divided in 100 calorie groups. Like you know how biscuits can come in a plastic tray? If that was molded so that there were distinct sections. And chocolates in a box could be sized so that like 4 was 100 calories.
Just think of all the wasteful trash, tho... And 100 cal isn't that much. It's a small apple, 2 Cuties. Half a small avocado. About 12 olives...half a Sumo Orange.
That sample 1200 calorie menu kills me. I mean if you are not going to eat two sandwiches a day and swap the canned beans and pasta for vegetables you could eat waaaay more. British people and their pasta and sandwiches haha.
@@ejezful 100% imo sandwiches are a scam 2 slices of bread aren't that filling. you could have a whole salad with the ingredients you'd put in a sandwich and fill up way more for *way* fewer cals.
That's a common term in the weight loss community. Not just with us ED weirdos lol, It's just motivation. The difference is the type of thinspo. For ED people we look at more bonespo related content while they look at more fitspo related content.
I have a Christmas dinner or Thanksgiving dinner as it is in the U.S. in August. By then, I want a cooked meal. I agree, just having one big cooked meal is okay, everyone should calm down.
Halloween candy, then Thanksgiving dinner and the. Christmas so yes you kinda can and then there new years, and then valentines day and then Easter chocolate eggs, trust me because of how many holiday with high calorie foods yes you can
Look up naked attraction! It's a dating show where you literally look at a persons naked junk to decide if you want to date them! Her name is Anna Richardson. Haha
I like that in this show, FOR ONCE, they're being compassionate to the patients not shaming them. They're identifying the root of the problem and handling it with kindness.
yeah British curry is quite different to many authentic curries, since the dish was introduced there about a few hundred years ago. Their white version of curry is pretty bland from what I've heard so it's not too surprising they're shocked lol
lemme just say it for all the indians out here: the curries here are nothing like the actual curries my mom makes 😂 we don’t add cream or oil even. homemade indian food hits different istg
@@Anne16626 www.vegrecipesofindia.com/punjabi-chole-chickpeas-in-a-spicy-gravy/ this is one recipie that looks pretty similar to how we make it in my house, and honestly if you’re looking for authentic food i usually a) take a recipie from an indian chef bc they mostly know the spices better and b) make it at home bc indian food is just love and spices
I'm saddened that these women don't know how to cook. I think its a must for everyone in society. My mom taught me how to cook and I'm forever grateful ❤
I think Anna is fantastic. Wish there were more Secret Dieter shows, I've watched them all and they are all pretty old. The more I watch these, the more aware I am and also it's just nuts to obsess over food like these people do. It's not mentally balanced in my opinion.
Am I the only one who is upset that Felicity's partner Ben said "we argue a lot, because she needs to lose weight". Like bruh. Yeah, just because she wants to lose the weight doesn't give you the right to nag to her about her eating. That's how secret eating tends to start.
Imagine having a partner who constantly moans about needing to lose weight and intimacy is gone from the relationship, and at the same time lies and stuffs her face all day. She probably told him on multiple occasions that ‘today is the day I’m starting my diet’. Maybe even told him to be supportive and then time and again scoffs secret cupboard chocolate and probably yells at him for reminding her she wanted to lose weight!!
I gave up chocolate for a whole year once, but I found myself craving flavoured milk instead. I wasn't trying to diet, though. I did it because I wanted to learn about addiction and how hard it is to give up something you like. Having said that, before my experiment I'd sometimes eat chocolate 3 times a day and afterwards I was able to go for much longer periods without iit.
As a foreigner who lives in the UK, I was so surprised with the "take away" culture here. You can find them everywhere and they all make a decent turnover. I gained a stone in my firt 6 months lol but luckily I woke up and adjusted my diet to go back to my nornal weight. Let's not forget about Aldi as well with nothing healthy in it except veggies. Britain is a country where everyone works hard and we have little time to worry about what we eat. Unfortunately takeaways and ready meals becomes the last resort with a busy schedule.
Same. I lived in the UK for 4 months this year (loved it so much that I'm planning to go back!) and I noticed that 'take away culture'... I mean, there's a whole entire row dedicated to it in the stores! And lots more of sugary stuff too (snacks, cakes, chocolate,...)... I didn't gain any weight tho', I'm not used to it (having a takeaway)and I like to cook (:
Absolutely nothing wrong with Aldi, they have loads of fruit and veg, lean meats, tinned things like beans, chickpeas etc The idea that only vegetables are 'healthy' is absurd
I know the 1,200 calorie goal is only for 14 days, but I think they should point out that this isn't really a healthy or sustainable pace of weight loss long-term. That big a deficit can result in muscle loss, hunger and fatigue. For women 1,600 or even 1,800 are better targets for long-term gradual weight loss and then they'd get to eat 550-600 calories per meal instead of just 400.
At my house we use yoghurt for chicken and fish dishes all the time....you know I watch all these shows that portray indian food in such a bad light....there are a lot of ways to cook a curry.....and most non Indians don't know that...they only know the fast food version of it....for example i usually kneed blended boiled vegetables which are usually leafy greens into my whole wheat roti with Ajwain....and have some raita full of cucumber and tomato.....it is reaaaalllyyy tasty and really good...and I don't need any oil in the making...
I have never in my bloody life seen a curry recipe with double bloody cream! Always whenever I make curry I’ve always used either yogurt, coconut yogurt or coconut milk on the rare occasion which is still a lot of calories but only bloody half the amount as double cream has
@@suicune2001 1. Fry chopped onions in oil and let them change color 2. Add chopped garlic, ginger , green chillies and fry for a few mins 3.add chopped tomatoes 4. Add spices and let it fry till oil seperates 5.blend the thick mixture if you want your curry to be very fine with no chunky parts in it 6. Add water as per requirement (optional: if you want your gravy/ curry to be more liquidy) put in chicken/ veges/ lentils etc and cover it with a lid... Let it cook....once ready, garnish with fresh corriander.
What stops me from having a lot of cravings is having smaller amounts of higher calorie foods, if I give myself a list of what I can’t have I find it much harder than just giving myself a daily calorie limit
Supermarkets try to create comfortable atmosphere?!Girl, where are those comfy markets?? Most of the big ones I go to are freezing, make me want to get out asap
You can do it yourself. It's easy. Wash. Chop and bag up a few bags of veggies. Cooked ones can be frozen. As can fruits, at 140g (the serving size, no idea why). A cup on veggies is usually considered a serving
Dropping 1000kcals a day is too much. It's bound to come back on, it's not a sustainable lifestyle and they'll go back to their original weight if not more soon after it's over. A 2-300 kcals deficit with proper calories counting would be more than enough to truly change their lives.
I was about to say this too!!! If they were eating 2500+ calories, why not try a 2000 calori3 diet? Atleast this way they would keep the weight off and it would last a lifetime!
They aren't making lifestyle choices they are trying to go down a dress size for a holiday party. Anna even said it specifically, guess you weren't paying attention.
This s absolutely ridiculous! Not all calories are equal. They want you to believe that 100 calories from an egg, is the same as 100 calories from crisps.
Well, 100 calories can contain very different amounts of nutrients. But energy wise, 100 calories is 100 calories. It worked perfectly for me - I lost weight even though I didn't cut out any type of food. I ate pizza, cake etc. (just fit it in my 1200 calorie budget), and lost 13 kg/27 lbs in 10 weeks time. 1,5 years later, I'm still at my goal weight. Also, look at the scientist who lost weight on Twinkies... extremely unhealthy, but possible.
I do that! I saute them in water very slowly ... they do brown! but you need something good on the wireless to listen to as you carefully cook them ...
Nobody eats any of the food that is made on cooking demonstration shows. They show them making it on set for camera and then the stuff people actually eat is prepared with professional equipment elsewhere and brought in. Scenes like that take hours to film, you wouldn't meant to eat it regardless of the shoes.
Around 30 min. The headache she got is her detoxing from all those carbs/sugar in the chocolate. The koffein also didn't help, but the detoxing from sugar probably had the largest impact.
I didn't really eat hamburgers, pizza, etc., but I was as badly addicted to sugar as Felicity. I was lucky because I moved a lot and never got fat, but I couldn't train hard due to always being sick and having a weak immune system. I decided to give up all those chocolates and sugars. To be honest, it was very hard, and even after two years, I sometimes still crave sugary foods, but I've learned to manage it.
I hate it when people say a diet "didn't work". If you eat and exercise so you're at a deficit, you lose weight. That's it. That's physics. It's not the diet, it's you.
The girl who eats 5 bars of chocolate the spots on her forehead might be an contributor cos when I drink a lot of fizzy drinks I sometimes can get spots and when I don’t drink them I don’t have spots I could not eat 5 chocolate bars a day I’d have 1 on the weekend haha
This is basically an eating disorder. They even use the word "thinspiration" to describe the dresses they want to fit into! As someone with an ED it blows my mind that stuff like this has been allowed to air. (Of COURSE I'm going to watch them all lol).
Yeah exactly what I think. This should not have been put on TV. But I have an ED and of course I’m gonna watch every episode. And they are gonna encourage me through the show to lose weight. What an awful way to make a buck
I watch these shows specifically because it fuels my ED behavior. Watching diets and binges stop me from eating and trains fear into certain foods. Not a good thing to do but it do be like that sometimes.
You cant weight yourself after 4 days diet expecting proper results.Woman cycle, how much water you drink or if you visited the toiled before make this few pounds Up and Down very easily.I recommend minimum 2-3 weeks or month to see some difference.
