Would a man who buys cars and watches or has an expensive hobby give himself such a hard time about an indulgent purchase? No he wouldn’t!! Claire, this is your industry, this is your passion, this is your job, this is why we love you. That coat is incredible! (My joint fave with your YSL trench, apparently I like full length black!) Nothing inspires or pleases me more than seeing a woman who has earned every damn penny buying the best of the best. If you love it its worth every penny, no matter what it is. Personally, not that it matters AT ALL what I think, I would rather have this one coat than 10 T-shirt’s with labels on which would only last a season or two. I do think a pair of Hermes Riding boots might be necessary? - to me that’s the one ‘gap’ in your amazing collection of footwear :) Love love LOVE this coat, round of applause to you for buying it!! That coat has to be the best thing you have bought, stunning. My Daughter and I are taking our first trip to Paris in March for my 50th Birthday and I can't wait to just wander about the city taking in the sights. We won't be buying a Chanel coat but would love to find a little something to remind me of our trip. Even on a smaller budget I still make sure I get rid of things to make room for new it makes you evaluate what is missing and what you no longer need.

Gorgeous and effortless. Definitely one of your best purchases ever. I currently own two Chanel bags and if I could afford something like this one day and to step into ready-to-wear, I would totally go for it. I get why some people are saying it was not worth it, but it’s more about how you feel in something, especially when you can afford it.

Hi Claire ! The only thing I remember about these jumpers when they came out was less luxurious composition of the fabric, the shocking price ( thanks to double C logo on it ) and the sudden realisation that if you are good at knitting you can create a perfect replica of it . The coat looks great and I love how you are styling it ... hahaha Honoré who was trying to run off .

Love the coat. At the end of the day if it’s a classic piece and you wear and love it then it’s worth every penny. I think it’s a fab choice as it’s so classic. You will have it forever. I tried on a long black Chanel cardigan a little while ago in the sale - as it was still over £2k I didn’t buy it. Still regretting it now!

For your eczema use bicarbonate of soda in your bath and oat grains. Then cream when damp. Oat cream is amazing for soreness and Shea butter for moisture x

Honore is so adorable and it’s amazing how much he has grown. Where did the time go? Your coat is beautiful. Don’t be apologetic about it, it’s the sort of investment piece that you will still be wearing when you are 90. I wouldn’t wear it with a cheap looking baseball cap though. It’s so stunning and classic that I feel it really calls for a beautiful and elegant hat to compliment it.

To me, it seems a bit odd that you are trying to save money to fund your brand and home renovation, but end up buying two jumpers that are exactly the same. On the top of that, not wearing neither of them (apparently).... Food for thought I would say.

I think you are confused Kate. The jumpers were bought too years ago and I just sold them. I sold them so I didn’t take the full amount from my savings because I paying out for my brand. So yes, clearly you’re confused. And yes I dipped into my savings. Sue me for being a rebel once in my life.

What a gorgeous coat! I can see why you couldn't walk away. I think selling the jumpers was smart; you're trading trendy for classic, timeless and luxe! Also, thank you for what you said about "auction/be first" type of pre-loved selling. We are seeing it a lot more and I do believe it can lead to impulsive buying/addiction as well. i think Oni can walk better if he has no shoes on. Babies dont have any foot structure yet only cartilage.so trying to get his foot into a hard sole shoe will make him struggle more. my 3 kids were all walking by there 1st bithday.Although, my 2nd son did not talk very much like Oni does. i found out in 1st grade he had a speech impetement and could not roll his R;s. His name was Ryan but he would say Brian. He was pulled out of class 1 hour a week to work with a speech therapist for 3 yrs. He is all grown up and gave a commencement speech at his UC Berkeley graduation with a Bachleors Degree in English. Yes babies all mature at there own rate.

I do agree children need to learn to walk on the ground barefoot. Because then the grasp will be better and balance better and will adapt to their own foot... Plus... Shoes aren't made nearly as supportive as say well constructed adult shoes so they don't add anything to the baby other than aesthetics
