my 5 year old said "wow she's really pretty" when I was watching this in the morning and he came up behind me. Just thought I'd send some love from northern BC Canada!!! You're amazing!!!
You are simply precious to everyone who watches your channel! I'm a hobby soaper and love to watch you make your incredible soaps! God Bless you and your whole family who obviously inspires and encourages you and helped you become an amazing young woman ;-)
Thank you for the answer, Katie. I am just now catching up on videos after an arduous move. What a pleasant surprise to have watching a Q&A! Never ever lose that smile. :)
I love your shirt! I follow Christ too! I made my first gum balls last night! I love your bubbleness. Thank you for giving us ideas on making our own soaps. I started out just making soap, no color, no fragrance, now I am doing colors and fragrance. One more thank you for the encouragement to us to grow in our own soap making. You are so sweet. My oldest grand daughter is just a little younger than you. Don't ever change! Love love love you and your mom!!!!
Love your videos, I watch for them to pop up. Thank you for your soapy wisdom. Can you do a video of your bloopers? You make me laugh anywho! Have you tried Periscope?
I love your soap creations. I have spent hours on your channel and I’m floored each and every time. My favorites were the Spring/Summer series you did with the Children’s Classic Literature. Your personality is just AWESOME! 😉 Thank you for sharing your insight. I’m saving up money to start buying stuff and making soaps.
I love the fact that you are always happy and smiling and upbeat and that's why I'm always watching your channel before any other one's because you always seem to make me laugh and that's great! Don't ever change! I to have a lot to be happy about and I try to surround myself with positive people, even the one's I watch on RU-vid. :) P.S. I love your shirt! (*side note: I deleted my original comment so I could include and let you know how much I adore you, after watching the whole video.)
I love watching your videos, very very POSITIVE energy. Thank you 4 all yoir tips.Very much appreciated. I haven't seen you discuss your Lye. Where do you purchase your LYE? Where do I find good recipes for a soap recipe?
Hi! I just recently found your channel and watched all your videos from oldest to newest. And I must say your soaps are insane and I would so love to make soap like you one day. I have made 2 batches so far and am in love! Although I have yet to play with more than one colour (that's all I bought) and one fragrance. It's such an interesting, thought out hobby that one day I would like to make my own business. Just wanted to say hi and your videos inspired my new found thing! Thanks for being awesome and sharing!
awesome always good to see other people so passionate in giving thank you for the recipe! I just started out soaping, here in Holland we do no have that many people making soap and I am just in love with the creative outlet! Did you even try the new SBHP process, with the stick blender?
Love your videos Katie, and you are such as inspiration to me. Thanks for answering my question. I hate washing the dishes, I made soap Tuesday all day and then Wednesday it took 2 hours to clean my stuff up. Boy was I beat, Thank you .
I could watch your videos all day long. You're so inspirational to me and I've learned so much from you. Just want to thank you for making all of us happier in this life. God Bless You. 😉
Katie you are so inspiring! I absolutely love to watch every single of your video and of course I love the Queen! I was so inspired by your personality and attitude towards life. Keep up your fantastic work and good luck :0) xxx
I'm curious about palm oil. Since providing the west with palm oil for so many of our products, there's quite a lot of rain forest being lost to burning. Is there an ethical palm oil company you would recommend?
Right! After my personal research, I found that when palm oil is labeled "sustainable source"...basically, can mean nothing, other that an unscrupulous company paid-off whatever officials to be able label their product, regardless of their process. Imho: unless you can travel to the source, knowledgeable of ins 'n outs of the trade: I prefer to NOT use palm oil ingredients. There are other oil options.
Hi there. Greetings from Pretoria, South Africa. Check out Palm done right. That is the name of the website. Just google it. Alternatively you may substitute it with Tallow or 75% shea butter and 25% cocoa butter. So if a recipe calls for 30% palm oil then use 22.5% shea butter and 7.5% cocoa butter. Hope that helps you😊
Love watching your videos... Can't wait to see your new creations 😄 I only do MP right now but I'm inspired to try CP when I have the space to do it safely with 2 kids lol
You are such a sweet and inspiring young lady. I actually look forward to your vids they really perk me up and I am old enough to be your granny!!! Keep up the great work
I have a question for the Duchess ... One I rarely hear discussed and yet remains consistently the bane of every soaper's existence. Do you clean your soaping dishes immediately after soaping? Or do you allow the remaining batter and ick to saponify a day or two first? Do you soak them a few days? In all the mountains of dirty dishes you've undoubtedly conquered, do you have any tips to ease the pain we all share???
+Sabrina Massie , If you girls want to try this : I usually have a lil bowl with a mix of vinegar and water for "in case trouble happens". Once I am done with my soping.. like lastnight... I just put everything in a big bucket and pour that vinegar/water mixture plus a bit more vinegar. I will clean them up today. I humbly find it easier to clean all the dirty tools then because the vinegar tends to remove that runny / slimmy feeling left on the dishes... Also, I do pour hot water on everything before drying them. That's my technique.
I never thought of using the vinegar! That's brilliant! I'll give that a shot tomorrow when I soap ... I'm stuck making Bath Bombs today ... Heaven Help Me ... LOL
Sabrina Massie I ALWAYS clean the dishes immediately after soaping. I don't like to wait for the soap to harden up on the dishes...all I use is a bit of Dawn dishwashing liquid and I use the hottest water my rubber gloves can stand. I have a spray gun on my sink....I blast the soap out of my dishes and down the sink with the garbage disposal running (to prevent caking or clogging), and then the dishes go straight in my dishwasher! Works like a charm every time!
Thank you for all your videos. I enjoy them so much. Since you are answering questions...I have two:1. How do I stop soda ash from happening?2. When is the right time to cut my soap loaf?Thank you!!! Keep on making us smile and laugh!!!!
LOL I was just sat listening to you whilst knitting and herd my name so weird lol thanks for the advice i have saved this video in my soaping folder for reference when i buy more soap. Love hanabee83 lol.xx
You are such a very awesome person! I appreciate and adore all your videos. Not only are they informative and educational but they are fun! You are such a lovely person and I hope to get to meet you one day at one of the soap conferences or get togethers! :) Thank you for sharing your life and skills with us!
Hi Katie, Loved this Q&A but I am still confused with the percentages of fragrances and water. Could you make the recipe to fit a 2# mold with U.S. Measurements including fragrance and water? I'm a newbie ready to do my first CP.
You remind me so much of myself when I was young and your age! Funny, I am a pre-designer and a wing as I go myself too, depending what the soap does LOL!
is there any reason I can't use soap with coconut oil or milk in the ingredients if I'm allergic to coconut? If not is there an alternative I could/should use?
I love your energy and self confidence. Btw what happens if you pour your oil mixture to lye water instead of the other way around? Haven't seen any videos of it yet.
i think it's just a safety precaution. It would be the same result since its the same ingredients but you risk the lye water splashing up at you and possibly burning your skin, eyes, and clothing etc
+Kristina Burgos Other than the splash issue I don't think there is a problem with adding your oils to the lye mixture. It's the adding lye to the water versus adding water to the lye that's the problem. When you add water to the lye you run the risk of the lye volcano-ing up and splashing you/spilling everywhere
+The Path Creative Absolutely there is! I don't feature him on this channel because he's camera shy but the King has absolutely been a major influence in my life. :)
Since this is royalty soaps and there is a queen and duchess, can we name the fandom something like Soaperland or something cooler? And the people part of the fandom can be called something soaperians or something much cooler. Definitely something much cooler. haha
Love your videos, I watch for them to pop up. Thank you for your soapy wisdom. Can you do a video of your bloopers? You make me laugh anywho! Have you tried Periscope?
