That’s awesome that you were looking for this lol and I’m glad that they’re still doing it this year! I think it’s much needed for minorities at a pwi, plus it really introduces you to the black community at Kent.
My daughter actually chose Spelman College...She was white folk exhausted ...Chicago. Many young ladies that attended there was unique in the fact that many of the young ladies attended boarding schools or private independent schools... they loved "finally" being with each other. I also sent my eldest son to Morehouse for the same reason...many black men were finally somewhere "safe." Every student is different, I am considering Kent State for my youngest son. This will be a first because my other five children attended private liberal arts colleges. Thank you for providing great information, it's clear that identity is present there.
Of course! The school really does have a strong Black and African American identity here. It needs some work like many other schools, but it really is a great place.
