In case you hadn't realised, Orange was a mobile network in the UK. Its since been merged into EE. Also, only one of those guys was in the original Two Ronnies. Ronnie Barker had passed away when this was made and Ronnie Corbett has done so since. The guy behind the counter is Harry Enfield.
Makes me laugh and cry in equal measure. Fantastic humour and so sad that both Ronnies are no longer with us. Harry was a perfect substitute in this sketch though.
Specifically, Orange UK merged with T-Mobile UK to form EE, which launched on April 1, 2010. This sketch originally aired on December 25, 2010, which meant that at the time this was shown, Orange and T-Mobile never existed as a company, although they still existed as their own brand until February 2015.
You can clearly see how desperately hard Harry Enfield is trying not to laugh, Ronnie Corbett has been doing this for years and hides it better. The Two Ronnies comedy was sometimes a bit saucy but never really crude.
As you may have noticed, this doesn't include Ronnie Barker, but instead has Ronnie Corbett and Harry Enfield. Ronnie Barker died in 2005 before this sketch was made.
Sadly, dear Ronnie Barker - who played the socially awkward customer in the 'Four Candles' sketch, decades earlier - passed away in 2005. In this 'sequel' sketch, Ronnie Corbett - who was the original irate shop keeper in 'Four Candles' - is playing the customer with the frozen blackberry. Behind the counter is Harry Enfield. The genius of the writing is certainly comparable with the earlier sketch. Love the booting of the apple! Btw: "That's a raspberry!" - Nope! Definitely a blackberry!
Harry Enfield is amazing. There was a programme when I grew up called ‘Harry Enfield and Chums’ which was always brilliant. ‘Kevin the teenager’ is hilarious and very relatable xx Hi Angela 👋 xx
For the complete picture, you really should start with Harry Enfield's Television Programme. You get to see Kevin the annoying little brother transform into Kevin the teenager, then.
Orange was originally French owned, tmobile was German owned, one2one was also a part of it too. They merged their British interest form ee. In 2016 BT bought EE. At no point has EE been a Dutch company.
@@bionicgeekgrrl I apologise you are absolutely correct. I was really just trying to explain the joke. I don’t know why I said they were Dutch other than the clear signal ex Orange customers get on the north Norfolk coast.
If you want to see more comedy, try Victoria Wood . . . Try her "2 Soups" sketch with Julie Walters, Duncan and Celia. She (Victoria) is not in it herself this time, but her usual acting friends are. If you enjoy that - Then try her, "Acorn Antiques" sketches from her weekly TV show. Which she created from a mash-up of some, but mainly ftom a soap called Crossroads back then. Which were hilarious episodes of a spoof soap (these episodes are/were available in their created order on YT to watch). . . she really did so much in her short life that everything is truly memorable really . . . her spoofs, sitcoms, songs and films . . . RIP Victoria . . .

This is not the Two Ronnies. It's only Ronnie Corbet, Ronnie Barker was long gone when this was done. This special was called The One Ronnie. Here is is performing with Harry Enfield.
Dongles in case you didn't know were actually security devices but people started calling flash drives dongles, but a dongle was only used for security purposes not storage :-)
Hey guys. You're never going to be disappointed with any of the vintage Two Ronnies Sketches. That sketch was a few years ago. Because the last Ronnie (Corbett in the sketch) the customer died in 2016. Yes Orange was a cellular phone network. RIP Ronnie Barker (1929-2005) RIP Ronnie Corbett (1930-2016)
Great reaction guys,FYI,just in case no ones told you blackberrys are red until they ripen, stay safe and well and look forward to seeing more reactions from you guys.
In the true spirit of _The Two Ronnies,_ who were known for their sketches using word-play (mostly written by Ronnie B under his _Gerald Wiley_ pseudonym). This rather poignant one-off sketch show was called _The One Ronnie,_ after Ronnie B had sadly died. A load of modern comedians partnered with Ronnie C for this special event in a series of short sketches. The Blackberry sketch is lovely and very well written. It reminds many of us who knew and loved the Two Ronnies, of what we miss. (Ronnie C has himself died since this was recorded). For vintage Two Ronnies, check out the Optician sketch (on Dailymotion only iirc) Crossed Lines, and the Mastermind sketch, though some of the references may be a little old (or too specifically British) for you in that last one, but all three are _impeccably_ well-written. Enjoy!
Harry Enfield playing the foil to Ronnie Corbett, using all of the physical traits of the late Ronnie Barker, and nearly losing it at the end. Great comedy.
It was only 1 of the 2 ronnies, (the customer) the other guy sadly died, my claim to fame I met him lol, came in my shop, sat hidden in corner and listened to funny things customers said, (later used 1 in a skech he did!), other guy looked like Harry Enfield, very funny man, some of his shows are brilliant!
I love edgy comedy but equally love straight clever comedy that mines the rudiments of what comedy must always be. Funny. Wordplay, Comedic timing and a Touch of deadpan
This is not the two Ronnies. This is a later attempt . Ronnie Corbett is there but the other one is Harry Enfield. It hasn’t got the genius of Ronnie Barker.
Nice they watching the updated 4 candles sorry fork handles........ could not wait for this one. Right now off to the vid I go. Btw thanks for these vids. You two are the most wholesome thing I watch on yt. Ta fornthe continued hardwork you two. Takecare. Regards.
You ain't seen nothing till U watch Dave Allen on religion/on Adam & Eve/on teaching children the time/ & much more.He was on TV for about 25yrs because he was so popular & controversial without swearing which is a sign of a great comedian like the 2 Ronnie's, most modern comedians can't do their act without using the F word.He can attract big viewing numbers. All the best.
It might have been an under-ripe blackberry, rather than a raspberry. About 15 months after this aired, a company released a barebones computer circuit, called Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi boards have proven very popular with nerds, geeks, and tech tinkerers. A dozen or so other companies have emerged over the last decade, offering similar boards. So no in addition to the Raspberry Pi, there is the Orange Pi, and the Banana Pi. There is also the Onion Omega, and Le Potato. The ARM chip at the heart of the board is a RISC processor. ARM grew from the developments made by a company called Acorn (another fruit). It sold 8-bit micros, mainly to schools in the 1980s. Back then there were a few British computer companies with fruit names... Apricot (from 1965), and Tangerine, which sold the Oric 8-bit micro, (mainly to France) .
The term "dongle" has been around for years. Dongles could be anything that stuck out of one of the ports of a computer. Sometimes they'd be anti-piracy devices that came with software. And yeah, when I first came across the term in the 80s, I thought it was a stupid term too.
I haven't seen this previously and I have to agree with you guys saying it is so clever. Yeah, Ronnie Corbett is more elderly in this one and I'm presuming that Harry Enfield was taking the place of the much loved and sadly missed Ronnie Barker. Nice reaction and this has put a smile on my face...
You might like 'The two Ronnies' at the opticians.' The whole sketch is on the internet - about 5 minutes. It features, Ronnie Corbett and Ronnie Barker, the genius behind most of the sketches. It's got to be about 15 years old, as we say in the UK 'the olden's are the best'!!
This show was actually called The One Ronnie! Never saw the whole thing - but I think it’s sketches similar to those on The Two Ronnies - although Ronnie Barker wrote a lot of them under the nom de plume of Gerald Wiley!
My Blackberry Isn’t Working sketch is Ronnie Corbett & Harry Enfield, a.k.a, Kevin, from Kevin & Perry Go Large, Famous for the sayings:- “That’s so not fare”, “I hate ya”, & “So can we go to Ibiza”, Unfortunately it’s only called ‘The One Ronnie Show’ now, but everyone still referrers to it as ‘The Two Ronnies’, out of respect and in remembrance of Ronnie Barker, 👍🏼
As an Australian who enjoys British humor try " UP START CROW " with David Mitchell . he plays Shakespeare set in the time Harry Enfield plays his father in law ..

@@Isleofskye I realised it wasn’t verbatim, but rewatching the segment wasn’t an option at the time. I could edit the comment. But if I did that. It would negate your reply. I’m just going to wing it.I thought at the time,if it’s wrong someone will mention it.And I was right.🤣👍🏼👍🏼
Sorry that was not the Two Ronnie's as Ronnie Barker had died This was Harry Enfield as the shop keeper Ronnie Corbett as the customer based on a Sketch by Ronnie Barker who died. It was recorded live. Orange was a media Phone system I think you have T & T. Ronnie Corbett died a few years ago 2016.
This is not , 'The Two Ronnies" You seem to have no idea about British humour before the video is played. Ronnie Corbett was in this case "the One Ronnie" since Ronnie Barker had passed away . Your dismissal of Blackberry before the fact says much about your intellect, but you can fill time by waffling on until 01:48 which leaves only 05:08 of fun to come. Eventually it seems that you get it. Is that the general format; scorn, scorn laugh. I hope never to watch your money gathering grifters again.
Sadly, this is not the Two Ronnies as Ronnie Barker had passed away before this was filmed. It is the one Ronnie (Ronnie Corbett - now also sadly deceased) plus Harry Enfield. Nevertheless, it is still in the vein of the Two Ronnies' comedy. RIP both!
There is a treasure trove of British comedy from the 1960's to the early 2000's, much of which wouldn't be allowed today because of ridiculous 'political correctness' . Why was it not deemed 'offensive' back then - because no-one told people they should be offended, so they weren't. People were also adult enough to understand the difference between a joke and real, intended offense. It is nice to see so many younger people discovering the comedy from that era, which as others have commented, stands the test of time.
Typical of this style of humor, "keeping it in the edit" is normal. You should have a look at "Mrs Brown's Boys" it is filmed in front of a live audience, if they mess up the scene, they will quickly reset it and carry on, or use it to "take the piss" out of them later. They "Break the 4th Wall" and talk to the audience (you), and use the 3 sets on stage, normally the kitchen, lounge and pub.
You don't have to be young to get this!!! You're not the first generation to use this technology you know. I'm 62 and I get it because this technology is from my generation, not yours!!!
Blackberry was the iphone - before the iphone. It was a massive success in IT and working in offices. You had e-mail, internet access etc etc etc before the iphone was even invented.
This show was called the one Ronnie, Ronnie barker had died in 2005. Ronnie Corbett died in 2016. And a blackberry looks similar to a raspberry but tastes completely different {the colour is in the name}. It's a popular British fruit
@@nicknoble9693 I didn't know, never left britain. I just see all the reaction channels who have no idea what a BlackBerry is. Even in the ladies vid it was referred to as a raspberry
You need to watch the two Ronnies Mastermind sketch answering the question before very clever the shop keeper lis Harry Enfield now he did not corpse is amazing
Hi guys, I would enjoy your vids more, and more often, if you would learn how to edit them. The variation in volume that you have between your mike and the video clip means that I have to keep adjusting my speaker volume. I turn it down so my ears do not overload when you react. I then have to turn it back up so that I can hear when the video clip resumes. You are not the only ones with this problem as most 'reactors' do the same. Be the first to give a constant volume level and start a trend. Cheers.
Typical play on words the two Ronnies was the best at this sort of thing although Ronnie barker had passed sometime before this was harry enfield clerk. Much like Rowen Atkinson with his school master.
This was from and for an older generation who grew up with no internet or mobille phones. We didn't even have landline phones in most homes growing up - mobiles were a science fiction thing back then. Their tech terminology is referencing that, and highly amusing to us befuddled older ones who even viewed tv remote controls with awe, unable to use them at first.
Love when he mentions about the black spots on the orange, Referring to the poor reception you used to get on the Orange Network, even when you were stood on top of a hill directly under their phone mast’s, L🤣L
This was a modern twist on the four candles sketch, its a bit goofy and not quite as good but at least the young kids understand it. I recommend the 'squish' sketch for you next, its hilarious.
one of the two ronnies died and the other bloke took his place for that sketch (Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett were the originals back in the 1970,s)
Loved this. Ronnie Corbett has always been one of my faves here in the UK. Check out - Kids In The Hall from Canada in the 90s. One of my fave sketches of theirs is The Doctor. Dave Foley is always hilarious, but he's just brilliant in this sketch. Quirky, surreal comedy always wins for me :-) Have a wonderful rest of your day.😊
