My Blasian Daughter Experienced Racism and Bullying in America 

(I’m the guy in this video) Our family is forever grateful for the overwhelming support everyone has shown both Yuri and Dasomi. It is horrible that there are little Vivi’s out here full of evil, born during the time we had a Black President in America. It means we still have a long way to go. Though I’m not the biological father to these two wonderful and beautiful Black girls, I am a very proud African-American Father nonetheless with the right capability, experience, attitude, and desire to equip these girls with everything they need to navigate this world alongside their amazing loving, strong, and brilliant Mother. I am grateful to be in this position and forever in the service of this family that we’ve created and I promise you all everyone is in good hands. Thank you! 🙏🏾

personnally my single mother raised me with the "if someone punches you, punch them back" and now that im almost 18 im so grateful for her teaching me to stand up for myself and to stand up for those who can't/are scared to stand up for themselves. It's been a year but this video means alot and I think gives a lot of people insight they might not get if they aren't a person of color.

I love both sides, mom is teaching her to be strong, to not let people walk over her and dad is teaching to take a terrible situation with calmness and the most possible emotional intelligence. The way the dad communicates and advices her is very healing to me actually. The way he goes about it seems very understanding and aspires me to be able to communicate and have that same mentality.

I cried and my heart absolutely broke with sadness when Yuri told her Dad that she believed that what those girls said about her race is true and she therefore wanted to be white in order to defuse the situation. The girls involved need to be reported to the social media platform they were on. I then cried happier tears because I am so grateful Yuri’s parents are full of wisdom and are giving their daughters exemplary/valuable lessons about race, prejudice and ignorance in a calm space. I additionally cried happy tears when Yuri’s Mom told her second daughter, Dasomi - when she questioned why some people DON’T THINK BLACK LIVES MATTER - that those people hate Black people because Black people are too beautiful. WOW! What a needed analogy for Yuri and Dasomi to hear. THIS ENTIRE VIDEO SHOULD BE A PSA RUN 24/7 ON SOCIAL MEDIA, CABLE AND NETWORK TELEVISION! EXCELLENT WORK PARENTS OF YURI AND DASOMI! WE ALL MUST PAY ATTENTION TO PREJUDICE AND FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT AGAINST IT; WE CANNOT GIVE UP! I pray for and wish many blessings be bestowed upon your absolutely beautiful family. The fact her mom stayed so calm was amazing so that she didn’t scare her. What really shocked me is the fact her daughter didn’t try to hide what happened or lied because often children do that, not due to the fact that their not well behaved , but purely out of fear that their parents will be mad.

As a 17 year old white girl from Idaho (a very, very white state for the most part) I just want you to know that you are an incredible mom. I have never experienced this kind of hate myself so I can’t relate to POCs experiences in this regard, but seeing this emboldens me to make sure any of my future children know that using racial slurs is absolutely wrong. I’m so sorry your family had to go through this, and I hope that your daughter learned a valuable lesson about how absolutely beautiful she is and how her skin tone does not take away from that AT ALL.

Yuri cries because she has a beautiful, tender and soft heart. She doesn't want to hurt anybody she just wanted it to be OK. I understand how she feels. Look at how wonderful her parents speaks to her. Huge respect for the parents. Yuri was just minding her own business playing her game, and is being disturb by someone. She's so innocent , she didn't even know how to react but cry. Her heart is so pure, she doesn't even know how to hate or react. I'm black, got bullied, so I understand the baby a lot. This breaks my heart. I also have a Korean mother and a Black father and used to struggle the same way as Yuri with race, having insecurities. The talks are so key to helping and reminding her that there is nothing wrong with being Black, Korean, or mixed! The people who say racist things are the issue. Now, that I'm older, I wouldn't have it any other way. American Black culture is soooo rich and everyone tries to copy it. Korean culture is deep and beautiful and now everyone is into kpop and kdramas. Yuri has roots in two very amazing cultures, and that's something I hope she learns to take pride in! My daughter had racists in her school and when I knew what she went through I went to her school like a hurricane. I confronted the school the kids and the parents. Stay loud and active against racism. Your daughter is absolutely gorgeous. She is beautiful and she has a beautiful soul.

I love how he said “you were suffering for a whole 30 minutes…” it’s nice to know some parents don’t toughen their kids, but allow them to realize that things like that isn’t a joke or a way to gain tough skin for the future. She’s very lucky to have her parents support through it and I’m glad her parents were aware that she was in a sensitive place and rather then punish her they tried helping her through it while explaining the dangers of the internet or even the company of “ugly” people.

I am an 11 year old Japanese-African girl. I've been through a lot of stress and recently through racism. Somebody tapped me on my shoulder and said "i didn't know you look like that" "siki" and a friend of him said "thats racist yooo". At that time, I was with a friend and he heard everything. My friend was black and was next to me, he knew I was going through a lot and knew it would build up on it. I once had suicidal thoughts and one of my new bffs (Kurdish) said that she had suicidal thought too when she was getting bullied. I built up my courage to speak to her about everything that was going through me and how she was able to overcome it and put a smile on her face. She said "she knew it would be haram and it would make the people who love me very heart-broken" I took those words and they were left in my head. Now I am doing fine but still depressed at times.
