@@Jujuthecat Torture? Imagine being a fan of A Song of Ice and Fire back in 2011, excited that the fifth book of your favorite fantasy series has come out. And a really promising adaptation just premiered a few months earlier, lol! Anyway I've lost all emotional investment in the books, but at least the show got some semblance of closure.

If Margaery were still alive and was there right then, I would like to believe she would’ve been a little proud of Sansa in her intelligence and her actions in outsmarting Littlefinger. Mostly because I believe that Margaery genuinely cared for the girl on some level because she still stuck by her even after the Tyrell plot failed.

Also, though, his transition to the 3 eyed raven was cut short when the night king touched him and then came for him. He was supposed to be in that cave longer than he was, so he needs to continue to develop his skills.

I agree with you Major, seeing Baelish die was right up there with Geoffrey and Ramsay. Certain deaths make you feel satisfied because of how much the characters deserve it.

When you talk about all the things Middlefinger had his hands in, there is a theory I'd like to share with you. As you know, Middlefinger was fostered at Riverrun by Hoster Tully, where he fell in love with Catelyn. After he fought The duel with Brandon and recovered enough to travel, Hoster sent him back home to The Fingers. But this was the year of the false spring, and winter was back. The passes of the Mountains of the Moon would have been snowed in and impassable. Middlefinger would have had to hold up somewhere a while and the most likely place would be The Inn at the Crossroads. Now, Lyanna Stark had been staying in the Riverlands at Harrenhal with House Whent. She had clearly somehow been in communication with Rheagar for her to know to meet him somewhere in the Riverlands. Again, the most likely place would be the Inn at the Crossroads. Scenario: Lyanna and Rheagar meet up at the Inn, where Middlefinger happens to be staying and he witnesses, not a kidnapping, but two young lovers' secret rendezvous. They leave, we now know, for Dorne. Meanwhile, Brandon departed Riverrun to take care of some vague business, I personally think he intended to follow and kill Middlefinger. He catches up to Middlefinger at the Inn and threatens to kill him. In a panic, Middlefinger, being Middlefinger, tells Brandon that he just witnessed Brandon's little sister being "kidnapped" by Rheagar and his crew in order to distract Brandon...and cause chaos. Brandon immediately rides to King's Landing do demand justice, and the rest is history and lore. Middlefinger told the lie that started Robert's Rebellion. I find it to be a pretty solid theory, what do you think?

It's overshadowed by some of the other scenes, especially Littlefinger, but I still get chills when Jaime thinks for a moment, looking at the woman he loves, maybe in some ways seeing her for the first time, and then says simply, "I don't believe you."

While the build to it absolutely left a lot more to be desired, just the trial scene by itself I thought was pretty cool. One thing I enjoyed from that littlefinger death scene is that there’s not much of a vengeful tone to it. This is painful to her, but it’s what she needs to do, it’s her responsibility to her family. If you close in on her face when she stands up, you'll see a tear streaming down, which is in stark contrast to the firmness of her voice in that scene. It's those subtle things. Here is finally a ruler who is not acting on impulse, rigidity, pride, hatred or love. "𝑰𝒕'𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕, 𝒊𝒕'𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒓 𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔". She is already shoulders above all the crowned heads.

Sansa KNEW: LF and QOT killed Joffrey, Lysa and LF killed Jon Arryn, LF framed her and Tyrion, Lysa sent the letter to her mother, set the Lannisters and Starks against each other,set her aunt and mother to be at odds, what Bran helped her with: The brothel scene and dagger, LF betraying Ned in the throne room and the dagger to his throat, he or Arya tells of LF and Tywin in Harrenhal, and Bran might have let her know LF was manipulating Arya behind her back; bringing the sisters to almost blow. The siblings talk, Sansa came up with the plan and goodbye LF.

@@NovaLena22 She said that because he was ignorant of how well the wildings knew their territory and how unlikely it was for his brothers to find him as well as his young persons idealism, not because he was actually stupid. A few episodes later Jon lies to Mance Rayder very intelligently in order to spy and get information about their attack in order to save his brothers. Ygritte also has no idea about the fact that attacks on the wall have happened before and that they’ve all failed. One character calling another stupid doesn’t make that character stupid. Jon displayed high levels of intelligence in the earlier seasons, 1-4 primarily. Everything after that is just bad writing. Jon’s character does a complete 180 in the later seasons.

@@NotoriousMinion I never said he was stupid...I said he was a bit dumb. And following your logic, just because a character lies cleverly one time doesn't mean that character is clever. Jon has been a bit dumb throughout the seasons. But he is also brave, noble, earnest, and loyal. And this makes him a very good character. Someone who is heroic, but flawed. And that's good writing.

So I contrasted that when he lied cleverly to show how his stupidity is a product of lazy writing in the later seasons. His dumbness/stupidity comes into play after season four. Before then he’s quite intelligent, he lies, he knows to kill the mutineers at Crasters camp because otherwise they’ll tell the wildings the truth about the Watch’s lack of manpower, he lies cleverly and tells them they have a thousand men, he advises the watch to shut the gates. Your support for your claim that he was dumb early on was an enemy calling him stupid. You haven’t substantiated your claim that he was just as dumb all along. If you want good writing, read the books. The show does a godawful job and simplifies literally everything about every single character. The show did an ok job in seasons 1-4, but everything in season five and onwards is pure fan fiction of the source material.

Cersei could have gotten a huge advantage from sending her army north. She could tell them to stay away from the dead as much as possible until the battle is over, either Dany, Jon etc are all dead and she maybe loses her army, or they attack the rest right after the battle while they are tired, unorganized and weakened. If she was thinking about sending an army up after the fact, they would come to Moat Cailin, a place where hundreds of defenders can hold off attackers in the tens of thousands. Nobody has ever successfully gotten an attacking army past it. If you remember, Ramsay sent Theon to talk a few dozen ironborn into surrendering it because Roose didn't want to take the losses of men it would have taken to attack from the south.

There have been lots of satisfying deaths in GoT, but few gave us the pleasure of Littlefinger's. I love that the Stark sisters outmaneuvered the master manipulator. Season Eight is only six episodes long, and I gotta tell you, the first three will leave you breathless. All I will say is this - you know what's coming. Bring hankies. Was Baelish the MOST satisfying death of the series? Hmm. Joffrey is up there, of course, and Ramsey, and Walder Frey. Meryn Trant and Polliver too, to a lesser degree. The ones with no redeeming values at all usually make the best deaths.

At 47:55, ....Sansa was never evil towards her siblings, My sisters would make Sansa and Arya's squabbles look angelic, she never hated Jon, but was well aware of his feelings and name within the world of Westeros, she taught him to dance, compliment girls, Sansa and Arya and Bran would have snowball fights, Robb and Jon would play tricks on the younger kids in the crypts. The Starks were a normal family and all the kids loved.

Targaryens as a family married and sleeper with their relatives so for Dani, that that’s nothing new! Jon on the other hand. For the next season May I suggest you LIGHTEN your screen the highest you can, you’re going to need it. I’m glad you’re forming your own option about this season, many fans had lots to say about it, though not my favorite season on some levels I still felt was not that bad! For me, Season 4, is my overall favorite, not a bad episode in the bunch for me! Many blessings to you and your family!

The season is spectacular from an action movie perspective. But that's also its downfall. Storytelling was sacrificed for action. It's Fast and Furious, but the captivating psychology of Tyrion and Tywin it is not. The fire and ice battles would've been more than enough if it was your average TV show. But for something that had been held in such a high regard for a long time, it was a downgrade. The two things that stick out the most is the Wight Capture story and the Game of Faces. I don't think the Game of Faces was uncharacteristic for either sister who were, for all intents, strangers to each other after all these years. But it was done without giving us breathing space. They meet up, fall out and get back again in back to back episodes. If it was done over time in a less heavy handed way, it could've been really good. The LF execution climax was done well, wish the rest of it was. As for the Wight Capture story the less said about it the better because it's scooby doo nonsense. I hate it more than anything in Season 8. That was the part where it felt like they were burned out, racing against time to wrap up the series, throwing shit on the wall to see what sticks. In fairness, it would've been hard for anyone to live up to the unreasonable amount of expectations put on the show by Season 7, but at the same time they just didn't have the capability to come close to the original writing. But also, I feel like I should balance out the criticism since it's easy to dunk on GoT nowdays. At the end of the day most showrunners will cut off their right arm to have the viewership that GoT. The popularity never waned despite the writing this season. It was still one of the biggest things in entertainment.

U made the comment about hr best character arc being Theon a few minutes too early. I love Theon’s growth but how naive Sansa started off vs how wise she became is one of my favorite plots of the show.

The White Walkers couldn't ever get through the wall. That is why they waited for the dragons came to them. This explains why they just wandered around the frozen north and gathering their army. They knew when Daenerys would bring the dragons to save the day. All they had to do was be there when the dragons arrived. Now with the wall down, no one is safe. You're awesome and I can't wait for your live stream and very ready for season 8.

@@GeekBen This was ‘A Song of Ice and Fire brought to the small screen’ until the writers made so many bad choices that Martin left… it’s an adaptation. You can criticize it for being a terrible adaptation. The writers are bad at adapting, and by writers I primarily mean David and Dan. The idea of the Walkers being unable to pass the wall is from the books, how the wall is endowed with magic just as Storms End is. The Harry Potter movies are an adaptation of the books, same for Lord of The Rings. It is perfectly legitimate and reasonable to criticize the adaptations. Some of it was good, such as the expansion of the characters of Osha and Bronn, however nearly everything else was terribly done.

I still remember when this first came out, (I worked for a cable company) the hype that fans created, hoping, begging, pleading that Jon and Daenerys would just hook up already. I found it so annoying. Then the reveal that they're Aunt and Nephew as it happens... chef's kiss. The chaos. Going from being grossed out about Cersei and Jamie to "incest is ok as long as they don't know it's incest."

We got Baelish’s death, we got Jon’s official reveal (many still didn’t know), we got Jaime leaving Cercei and keeping his honor as he went to keep his promise to the north, and we got the night king through the wall….. this was a REALLY good episode. (Also we got Dany and Jon lmao your reaction cracked me up. At this point everyone was so desensitized to incest that everyone didn’t care much loll like it’s still gross but them two got chemistry Ngl.)

Let me tell you something Major...i follow you since a while, and, You're someone pretty cool to follow. Why ? You're sympathic, passionned, happy, emotionnal but not too much excessive, cleaver and like me you love the Starks : ) Also, your camera appears at every or almost important moments of the show, and not all "reaction chains girls or boys" understand that. Thats easy - we just write a contrived way to get enough characters to go north to warrant needing to send a dragon. 'Oh, he's going to hit the one with all of the main characters on it?' Nope, he's going to no-scope the one thats flying far away in the air.

Now you know everything about Jon’s lineage, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go back and watch the scene when Ned takes Jon to the wall. Sean Bean was told about who Jons mother was and swore him to secrecy. Sean acts it so brilliantly. Defo worth a revisit now you know what you know. Same with the scenes with Ned and Robert 👍🏻

I may be mistaken and I’m not sure what season but Maester Aemonn called Jon ‘Aeg’(egg) once and I remember it sparking something in my head at the time because of course, he was blind. I came to the series late, S6, but I called Jon as a Targaryen lol. My best friend turned me on to GOT but passed away from breast cancer in 2016, so didn’t make it to the end. I always talked to her about it while I watched though lol. It’s nice you got that time with your dad

Unsure if anyone has mentioned this or not but just in case, now that you'll be starting the last season make sure you pay attention to every episode's opening credits. Before the final season the credits only changed once a season, the final season it changes every episode. It's pretty cool to watch.

I definitely appreciate that you liked this season because all of the "true fans" spit in the face of people who don't think the first 4 seasons are cinematic perfection and everything else is dogshit. My personal favorite season is still season 6, Battle of the Bastards and The Winds of Winter are my 2 favorite episodes of the whole show and everything before that is still pretty damn great.

I think you should watch The Dark Knight Trilogy, Indiana Jones, Stranger Things, Westworld, Breaking Bad, Rome, Gladiator, and Inception after you finish Game Of Thrones, Star Wars, and Harry Potter, and I hope you’ll watch House Of The Dragon when it comes out in August 21st
