Everything everyone has said about this album is how it works so well thanks to the distortion, the jazzmaster's tone achieved using pedals and whammy, the fullness of the instruments. You made an acoustic cover and it works just as well. Shows that the album isn't just good because of the tone, it's the insane songwriting that fits the instruments so perfectly. Cheers.
Okay for everyone wanting to try their hand at this, I have a version which I think is okay Open G tuning For intro: 3 3 3 slide to 5 5 5 (on bottom 3 strings) 3 3 3 slide to 5 5 5 (after moving up a string) For verse with lyrics: G, F, C5add2, C7 Chords are listed low to high, G: 0 0 0 0 0 0 F: 3 2 3 0 1h3 x C5add2: 5 5 0 0 3 x C7: x 3 2 0 1 x
Seriously amazing cover. I rarely comment but I’m so captivated by this rendition. Great vocals and something about the way you carry the sound through the entire song. So glad I stumbled on this. Edit: Also would love to see you re-cover this today!
The instrumental freakout sections with the slide guitar works really well, almost sounds like fast bluegrass but then the verses bring it back to gaze.
When I saw the thumbnail for this on the sidescreen list, I laughed out loud. NO WAY (I thought)... this has to reek! But you did it, my man... a pleasure to hear. Never say never!
Absolutely insane cover, that is without equal on youtube. You knocked it right out of the park and then proceeded to blow up the Stadium! Simply *_EXCEPTIONAL_*
Years ago, I found this guy's version of When The Sung Hits. I didn't know at the time, that he also did Dagger, 6 Underground, 40 Days, When You Sleep, Soon, as well as dozens of other songs by Foxygen, NQOTSA, Camera Obscura, Ride, and Brian Jonestown Massacre. We cover some of the same ground, but Casper here stuck to the pure acoustic covers. I love his entire channel.
This is such an awesome rendition. The replication of the lead is very Ry Cooder. Furthermore May I ask what the tuning is of this tune. I would like to have a go. Consider yourself subscribed good sir 👌🏼
@@CasperIskov I like your version, it's really good and the bottleneck riff is a brillant idea :-) + the end ... Congrats m8 ! For the chords, did you try G / Fsus / C / A# ?
ok. also, just want to say your shoegaze covers are the best in existence, from one shoegazer to another. do you form your own tabs for songs like 'when the sun hits' and 'only shallow' or are they from a book/ internet?
Sorry for the late response, I hope that a lot of people will read this. Problem is, I would love to teach how to play these songs. But I learn playing by ear and don't know how to read tabs, I'm sorry. Many times I listen to a track and try to focus on one guitar part or a sound, and figure out how it is played. But try to experiment, it helps!
Casper Iskov Please dude, just do videos where you're playing slowly so we can see exactly what you're doing You're doing an awesome work with these shoegazy covers I learnt When the sun hits and Dagger thanks to you Greetings from France
