My Blu Ray Collection 2023 

Your collection is pure inspiration to me as a young blu ray collector. Congratulations James!

You have a really good collection, I’ve only been collecting Blu Ray’s for about 3 and a half years myself now. Your taste is extremely different to myself, but hey we are all different people with different tastes. You seem to like Sci-fi, Superhero, Adventure, Disney, Family movies, and quirky Indie movies a lot, I’m not a fan of those types personally. My collection so far is mostly Horror and Thriller, I do like other types of movies like I have some American Gangster movies in my collection and the Gangster movie is my third favourite genre behind Horror and Thriller, a few Action movies in my collection even though I’m not really an Action movie fan, a few Drama movies in my collection, and just a couple of Sci-fi movies in my collection, and I’m mostly not a Sci-fi fan, it has to be either good or have Horror or Thriller elements for me to like a Sci-fi type of movie. So that’s what I have so far in my collection, like I said it’s mostly Horror and Thriller so far, I just love suspense and mystery.

Pro Tip, if you have a Panasonic player and want to watch Region A movie. When the wrong region message comes up, press Stop and then Top-Menu. This works with all my Region A Criterion produced from 2011 onwards. Doesn't work at all with stuff from Kino Lorber or Shout/Scream Factory.

Both Arrival and Annihilation have 4Ks in the UK. As do Ex Machina, District 9, Apollo 13, Inception, Forrest Gump and Edge of Tomorrow while we're at it. xD

You should be excited for the new Shazam film

Pretty in pink has a different director then The Breakfast Club. John Hughes did write both films, but did not direct Pretty In Pink.

Great collection, but I noticed that you don't have War of the Worlds on 4k. Also, it seems that you got rid of good American comedy films, such, as, Superbad, Pineapple Express, This is the End and others.

Superb collection as always! Musical biopics I would definitely recommend are Ray and La Vie En Rose (about Ray Charles and Edith Piaf) I knew next to nothing about their music beforehand but it didn’t matter they were just excellent films!

Criterion has another 2 of Tarkovskys movies in the UK: Solaris and Ivans Childhood. I'd wager they will release Andrei Rublev eventually.
