when you have that extra 1 tile gap, you can "hide it" and level out the fences by using the terrain tool. use the level terrain on the lower foundation to make the terrain match, then cover it with the flooring you wanted.
I agree the ability to centre doors and windows is game changing. I used to expand or shrink my builds depending on how big the perfect door was because I can't stand things off centre. I was more excited about the free update because of this than I was about the new eco lifestyle expansion.

On your next house you should make ever room be on a different platform, like the gazebo, but that would be the kitchen and another one would be the living room. You would put dining room on one and bedroom one another. (Bathroom, kids room, entry room, laundry room.) They would all be connected by a bridge or something. I also think it would be cool if you made a room for a dog or dogs, meaning you make a bedroom, but for dogs. With a bed, food and water bowl,a red fire hydrant (instead of the toilet because dogs pee on them). what i'd do and think it's a cool idea: theres that lil garden inside, so i would move it next to the kitchen so person having that lofty bedroom would have bamboo basically in their bedroom, but not really lmao
If you have a closed in staircase you can put the doggy door under the stairs and I hide my litter boxes in there 😂😂😂 then when they need cleaned just move them out and clean them then put it back

Did you know that you could have filled up the gap between the patio and the house by raising it up with the terrain tools and, then put normal floor tiles on it?
You know those kids are going to try to swing as high as they can on that swingset and jump into the pool. I imagine many injuries for these sim kiddos.
