He proved he was innocent... Stupid but innocent. She has a right to be angry and even ending the relationship but... therapy? That's stupid. On the plus side he may learn how to better communicate but you don't need therapy to learn that lesson.
Thought the same thing. He didn't make those comments and had proof he didn't, they're not reflecting his views, what would therapy do here? This feels fake just on the base of that alone.

she did clarify at the end that he probably needed therapy for his anxiety/depression issues already. But yeah, going to therapy specifically because of one miscommunication would be a stupid waste of time and money.
I don't necessarily think that therapy would be a bad idea, but I agree that it seems rather excessive in the rules and stipulations that she made. I think going to therapy for his anxiety could help like other comment said. I think also just building some tools for him to stand up for himself a bit more and not let people run all over him. I'm not mad add him for trying to help this lady get out of this toxic relationship, I think it's rather commendable but at the same time letting the guy have access to his account and type these comments about his girlfriend and stuff like that is kind of crazy. If that dude really wanted to he probably could have got another information or either posted something that maybe could have gotten him in a lot of trouble or something like that. I think you should have told the girlfriend from the get-go and she probably would have been on board with it. I'm hoping that she'll ease up on him. I think a break is understandable but yeah. I hope they work it out but at the same time there's part of me that's like maybe you guys should just part ways and call it a day lol
This reminded me of another Reddit story from a while ago where a girlfriend was planning a surprise party for her boyfriend, blocked/ghosted him, and either she or one of her friends made up the 'excuse' that he'd cheated on her or something like that. Trying to do something good but going about it in such a dumb way.
The only thing wrong that the OP’s boyfriend did here was not communicate his plan to her so that she would know and understand what was going on. I don’t think he’s wrong for trying to gather hard evidence to present to a person so that they know whom they’re dealing with. He’s trying to be a decent human being but he didn’t dot all of his “I’s” nor crossed all of his “T’s”.

Not a monster but still caused great hurt. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, he knowingly and intentionally let his friend talk shit about her, that the friend was using his handle or whatever just makes it worse. He co-signed when he gave up his password.
She has a right to be angry with him, it's still him being an idiot at her and his expense without even talking to her. Those things he "said" are public and potentially forever and traces back to him, it was idiotic at the least and a major red flag.
She's allowed to feel that way she sees someone who she trusts give up his password to his friends and allows him to make those absolutely disgusting comments about her, and you make it sound like she's angry for no reason are you dumb?
Cutting off the friend is where I drew the line. Lucas didn’t do anything wrong, all he did was exactly what they had planned on him doing. The BF is throwing him under the buss to save himself, and OP demanding he be blocked is petty
@@FrostLordOni nah Lucas was dragging OP's BF deeper into the mud in order to gather evidence on this Dean guy. It sounds like the BF was already uncomfortable with how deep they'd gotten and was planning to walk away.
She is shallow and that is okay. You can have any preference you want and no one has a right to you. She gets to learn how she wants to navigate her romantic life. But she is shallow.
Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinions even if it is wrong and makes no sense whatsoever. But think of it like this you're in a relationship with someone you trust and they go behind your back and give their password and consent to their friends to say whatever they want to about you and you think she overreacting he'll she's underreacting and deserves better than this.

Boyfriend is on somewhat an ass for not telling her about Lucas before hand but she generally over reacted and if you don't agree don't bother replying bc I won't change my mind
@nxatie if his friend was gonna use his account with his permission to talk shiy about her, then it involved her, and she should've known that's why the friend got cut off.
