I have a feeling insurance would see it as 50/50 as although the silver car reversed into traffic, the claimant had ample time and space to either stop or swerve had they been paying attention.

You come to a road with parked cars entirely on one side but a lorry has already pulled out to overtake those cars. You were not at this section yet but you technically have right of way over the lorry who is currently passing the parked cars. In your mind you would be allowed to either force the lorry to reverse or plow straight into him. Or just let him finish his passing and continue on with your day. Common sense buddy.

Yeah it’s weird on the dash cam it shows it’s much more sudden than what it appears on the ring maybe it’s the fish eye lens but looks as you say like loads of room but it wasn’t 😭 oh well no one was hurt and that’s all that matters ❤️

But most of us don't have such cars, even if we can afford it, its a car, an engine and 4 wheels. For most people its only for transportation and not worth spending money on.

He saw the car moving first. He had plenty of time to stop. He let the car hit him on purpose. He even hit his brakes to slow down to make sure he hit him
It was the RS6 drivers fault. That is exactly how law and insurance will call it. The car backing up has inherent limited visibility, the RS6 had plenty of time and could clearly see the car backing out and just kept on going.

Its in the main part the same in the UK in that if an accident is avoidable then there is liability such as in this case. People to busy trying to be clever. Almost all of these accidents are avoidable by reverse parking which should be made obligatory. If you dont reverse park you should go and ask somebody to explain why it would be better
You must’ve been looking at your phone or something. Why didn’t you avoid the car. Neither car was moving at a high speed so it would have been very easy to break or turn. Maybe this was an insurance scam 🤔
I get that there's a fisheye lense on. But there was like 3 seconds between when the silver estate started to back out and the point of contact. (Assuming the audio is synced properly.) Just to be clear I'm not defending him though. He never looked anywhere before backing out.

@@briarios666I would most agree, but it's actually illegal to reverse Park in some cities and localities. The logic is that those localities only require licensed plates on the back. So cops need to see. Stupid
@@briarios666let me enlighten you then, it’s because it’s easier to drive into the parking spot, as well as it is 10x more practical to park with your trunk facing outwards to easily load groceries and cargo. There is no problem driving backwards out of a parking spot, you just have to be aware of coming traffic by looking through the side windows as well as the mirrors. This specific accident occurred because both drivers lacked awareness, not necessarily because the parked car was driving backwards.
