Woohoojin I can't believe you would go against your principles and smurf like this. I am literally shaking and crying right now. I wish everyone well in this troubling time.
"These are the players one tapping me?" Yeah Hooj! We are! /s also. I accidentally started no clipping and I've NEVER played a custom before so that's what I was doing. I was trying to stop flying lololol
I love this video, because it genuinely does clear the confusion on "smart" agression and other things, which really helps cuz I was confused about some things since eatching your "get to gold" videos. Came at the perfect time, because I just started try grind.
Watching a small portion of woohoojin taking fights in this video has now become my pre-DM and comp ritual. It’s my Rocky IV amp up before the big game and already has improved my brain to remember the things that I’ve tried to implement in the last 100 DMs and has not stuck 😂
Hooj your guides are the best, especially your how to get to gold routine. I am Silver 2 and i hardly have positive kd, had everything below average and when i started creating my own routine based on the video i was topfragging with double positives on Brimstone. Before that i would be mindlessly switching through Range and dm, shoot bots not tapping my a and d keys and trying to go for kills in dm.
Week 2 of trying to get to plat by the end of the act: I have been playing pretty poorly this last week and forced myself to play even if I didn't feel like I could perform. And as you would expect I lost a lot and played awful. Going forward I'll try to only play when I feel ready.
13:48 that comment about creating a bad habit of crouch spraying from using the Phantom is so true. I used phantom a bunch back when I played every day. Even after an 8 month no play time, I've returned and using mainly just vandal, I have the habit of crouch spraying and it punishes me almost every time.
What’s the 1:20 timing in arcade signifying? Also in arcade when I slice the pie then slice arcade I’m exposed to the boxes.. and that’s to many angles for me which is more of a priority to hold?
MIND YOU. These Bronze knew they were playing against someone completely out of their league so they were doing their best not to make mistakes. So they played better than they mindlessly do in comp
low elo players sometimes out aiming/getting lucky shots on high elo players isnt new. I'm silver 2 and sometimes i too out aim immortals in deathmatch and wonder why i'm stuck in silver lol but then i remember my game sense, util usage lol im trash at it. Nothing to worry about those deaths coach, you're 1000x better than us bronze silvers lol BTW i was stuck in bronze for 4 months but after watching ur videos i reached silver 2 in couple of weeks. This is my first fps game too.
sit down boi you aint outaim a plat let alone immortal, aim sets apart a huge skill disparity topthat with map awareness game sense utilitiy usage team composition maintenance communication movement positioning and much more you would be silver and have good aim only if you were braindead cause you deserve at least plat if your aim is solid
Definitely some truth here. When I was in silver my aim was actually quite good, I just had other glaring problems that after hooj helped me identify, I shot up to plat in a single act. I'd probably be peaking around diamond/ascendant if I played continuously but I don't play much anymore
In the video at 25:02, I noticed that you saw the sage was on site whilst you were holding defender spawn. Was that because you were looking at the minimap or because of the voice line? Just because I had previously thought that that was the type of situation where you would be looking at your crosshair.
The killjoy voiceline was from spotting the fade, so he still had no info on the sage until he saw her on the minimap. I think he was holding CT just in case the sage was flanking, because he had no info on sage's whereabouts. So he's probably focusing on his crosshair until the gunfire when he checked minimap and saw the sage. Hope this helps
He probably cut it out because it was illegal Radiant movement, which would be unrealistic for bronze. He explains it right after about how he should have died there but lived and killed the Yoru simply as a result of his Radiant reflexes
ok ngl idk if its just me but crouching in low elo (below gold or silver) just sucks. This is because the enemies usually would have their crosshair placement lower than it should be, so crouching would only move your head into their crosshair. idk this is just imo edit: do crouch and ads if holding though, it makes you 100x more accurate(again imo)
I'm sure woohoojin has a better explanation than me, and by no means am I trying to answer for Hooj, but that's just a reposition tool, not a blind, stun, nearsight, ect. You can't shoot in Reyna dismiss. His main focus is gunfight hygiene and not getting into bad habits. If we can't crosshair place and don't have decent movement then we are building bad habits early on. Gold and below is just who has better mechanics. Character abilities and many other factors truthfully don't matter (too much) in lower elos. (Source, was bronze two years ago, now I'm plat. (Im still terrible but for different reasons now))
Adding on to what everyone else has said, the dismiss is basically just an info gatherer, which is perfectly allowed as like KingBLUCKslayer said, it's not a blind, stun or nearsight. It's like looking at your minimap - it's just info and doesn't help you win the fight. Both players see each other so it's a 50/50
Dismiss give you literal immorality and quick movement. If he blinded, phoenix could just spray the walk out and Wooj could die. Reyna's (in 1v1 or v2) scenarios will often dismiss peek angles. If they pooped ult that round, you best believe they are dismiss peeking as much as possible.
because its directed towards iron and bronze players, players in that rank generally wont give OR take good comms so theres no point. Just lock reyna and click everyones heads until youre out of iron/bronze (maybe even silver)
I feel like this way of playing just makes Valorant boring. It very well may be the way to rank up from bronze but I will not play like this (but I do agree focusing on mechanics is important, I only dislike the exclusivity of fighting enemies)
You say a lot in your videos to have good gunfight hygiene and move and 2-bullet burst, but you seem to be crouching and spraying in most of the fights here. Why is this so? (not trying to be aggressive, just geniunely curious and want to improve)
