AC Milan vs Liverpool. 2005. Istanbul. Milan had what I would say is the greatest assembled team I’ve seen. The best players in the world in every position. Liverpool had a fairly average to good side. They were 3-0 down at HT. Nobody in their wildest dreams could have envisioned what happened next. Greatest Champions League final 👏🏼

You have to put in perspective what a goal actually means for a game of football. The game ends up with no goal at all more often than not. Therefore, scoring 1 goal in a game of football can mean as much as scoring 100 pts in a basketball game. That is why it is celebrated as much as you can see in these clips.

The France guy Thuram hurts on another level as a Croatian. France took away both of our chances to win a world cup.. It's such an insane and yet such a sad story.. Croatia started playing under the name Croatia only after a war in 1992 and our footballers reached a world cup semi final in 1998, just 6 years after the war happened. And then sadly, Touram happened with his only 2 ever goals for France in his WHOLE career. Fast forward 20 years later, 2018 was here and Croatia managed to reach the world cup finals and sadly France was again the slightly better and much luckier side. Imagine how happy we were for our footballers, a country of 4 milion people that breathes football in the finals of a world cup. When they came back home, there was more than 550k people waiting for them in the streets of Zagreb and cheering for them, I was there and it was magical! Can you imagine that btw? There is a bit less than 4 milion people in Croatia and there was more than 550k of us waiting for our team to arrive home from the world cup? It felt like that silver was a gold in our hearts! Oh, and Luka Modric won a ballon d'or (best player in the world) award that year so that also felt really special. Here is a link btw. If you wanna see the celebration when the Croatian team arrived home: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KtXrsvbVFLM.html

15:33 Lucas Moura's 3 goals in succession were monumental for Tottenham. Champions' League games are played as a best of two matches. Ajax were up 1-0 before that match was played, and had already scored 2 goals in that game. Moura then came in to score 3 goals for Tottenham and put them through to the Champions' League Final for the first time. (goals scored away from home were used as a tie break if the overall score was tied) What's even more insane is the 4 goals by Liverpool starting at 16:00 took place in the same season. The Champions' League was incredible that year.

Very good observation about missing the context of the these moments. Same true in every sport - we can appreciate the individual moments of athleticism on their own, but within the context, history and significance of a game/season/history of a sport, it takes on a far deeper and more profound significance. For lovers of football, this video is an incredible collection of significant moments. WOuld love to see something similar for NBA.

Yes, announcers have to be impartial, but when it comes no international games, a certain level of favoritism is acceptable (as long as it's not over the top or disrespectful). In those situations they're broadcasting mostly to their their fellow countrymen anyway. Each country has its own announcers so...

Great reaction, I really like you guys and how you talk about how know you don't know everything about it to begin with which is great. I recommend looking at Chelsea's 2012 champions league final run. It was basically the last opportunity for our players who were in the great squad of 04-05 to win the champions league. That year we finished 6th in the league after a poor season, we changed managers half way through, scraped by so many games and in the final had to play Bayern Munich in their own stadium. We were 1-0 in the 87th minute and went on to score and win on penalties after Cech saved a penalty in extra time. I still get goosebumps thinking about the game

Great Reaction Guys.:)There are 7,000 Teams in England alone and 4 main divisions with Promotion and Relegation between each division. The difference between The English Premier League and The Second Tier is $240,000,000 each season due to TV money. The bottom 2 sides in the 4th Tier drop out into The Semi-Professional Leagues some never to return. One team reformed under a slightly different name after THe Club moved 75 miles, which caused riots and was unheard of in English Football. The new team: AFC Wimbledon started from the bottom and worked their way up to the 3rd Tier playing AGAINST the Team "MK DONS (Dons short for Wimbledon ) .It took 14 years for the new team to progress to the 3rd Tier of English Football. :)

Seeing Messi play is like watching steph curry, watching ronaldinho is like watching Kobe, Watching Christiano or Zlatan is like watching Lebron. Watching neymar is like watching Kyri Irvin or James Harden. Each sport has its legends and its legendary moments. 18:10 To expand on that, some teams are so important to their local city/town that if they get relegated, the city and its economy suffers as a result. So it's very important to the health of the city that it remains in the top division. There's a Netflix series called Sunderland Till I Die that explains this well that I would recommend anyone who has an interest in football/soccer to watch.

Football is oldest in the UK (English, Scottish and Welsh clubs between 110-130 years old roughly) many of the other Mainland European teams (so European teams not from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland), teams are 100-110 maybe 120 years old, and then there are a few that have come after, but most are over 100 years old, some of the rivalries , between City's is older though (Liverpool and Manchester...that rivalry goes back AT LEAST 250 years, possibly longer), some of this is expressed through Football, Kind of mad the Liverpool and Manchester have the 2 most successful team in England (Liverpool and Man United), but the rivalry is the same for many Citys , but also within City's. Many of the clubs have religious ties and also have underlying Christian sect association (Catholic and Protestants) so that is a tension that is far older, and then you have the Celtic/Saxon/Norse cultural tension that is 1000+ years , we are talking DEEP rivalrys
