I got a response from a clone of yours asking me for $500. Luckily, I know you do not need $500. Secondly, you would not ask your subscribers for cash. I'm surprised you are just putting this warning up now since it was about two or three months ago that I had that $500 request. But a warning is better late than never. Sorry I was unable to send you $500 hahaha
I get many responses from you saying I won a prize, I maybe old but not totally stupid, pretty sure it is not you!! Firstly I make comments because I enjoy your channel!! I don't need a prize!! Go away scammers! Go get a real job!!
Ngl. When I worked downtown my doctors office was near Swedish. And yeah "my bum is on the Swedish" happened atleast twice when I was going to the doctors. Lol
I'm blown away by the video store!!!!! Amazing!!!! Glad you got to actually got to, hands on, experience this, Adam!! It's more like a museum!!!! Thanks so much!! Great job!!
Absolutely love Seattle and the surrounding area. Even have a tattoo of Mt. Rainier on my back. Nothing like the skyline with the mountain in the background anywhere else in the world. We'll have to give that Roastery a try next time were there.
Dude, the 90's were RAD, haha. Thanks for highlighting Scarecrow Video, very impressive! Sort of reminds me of what Amoeba Hollywood used to feel like in all its multi-leveled awesomeness, before they moved. It'd be so fun in a place like that to just think up random old movies for a while, or bring along old movie lists books to randomly check and see if they have certain titles or not---and which versions! lol 🙃
Loving your Seattle travels!! Give me a plastic straw, thankfully I still have bunch of them from my aunt!! The paper ones are horrible!! What a cool store!! I have a ton of VHS from family members!! I use to love to rent from Block Busters!! The good old days!!
My favorite Tom Green memory is the episode where he was following a pizza delivery person with a tackle box full of toppings as "Under cutters Pizza" offering to give the customers a better price 😄
Look at that.... The Woo is in my area. One of the first videos I ever watched was your visit to the Hackberry General Store on Route 66. My family was that last one to run it as a fully operational General Store, Gas station, motel, bar and restaurant in the 70's. The circle is now complete 😁
Thanks for visiting Seattle! I was a bit sad that you passed by Victrola coffee to hit Starbucks. If u you ou really want to be a “coffee snob” go check out the local independent shops like victrola, caffe ladro, and many others. Their coffee is so much better than ‘bucks
Couple of excellent David Lynch references in the video store with the Blue Velvet poster and the infamous log! Could this be a sign that a visit to the Twin Peaks filming locations is on the cards? Definitely in the right area of the country for it.
@@perceivedvelocity9914 yep Florida is always sunny but gets more rain because the clouds form quickly in the afternoon then pour buckets for 30 min then done back to sunny
The rain in Seattle here is more of a constant light sprinkle except for a few winter storms so it's spread out for months and months leading to many dark days and overcast which does set a mood. Some like it some hate it and even after living in Seattle for 15 years I have mixed feelings. Even Idaho has many more sunny days even with colder winter so people seem a bit happier. It's hard to grow vegetables in a garden and even fruit trees have a lot of problems so if you like growing things it's hard too. I hate hot weather so I do love Seattle for that but the darkness does get to you after a while.
I lived in Seattle for 24 long, sad, gray, cold, depressing years. Sure it may rain more in other cities, but they get SUNSHINE other than a tiny bit in the summer. Seattle is VERY, VERY, VERY, DEPRESSING!! I barely got out alive!!
Things I did not expect to see referenced in 2023: Tom Green's "The Bum Bum Song" That was a dank period in Gen X and Elder Millennial history. Talk about the deepest of cuts. I still laugh every time I drive by Swedish Motors
Omg love it! The Bum Bum Song is hilarious. Our 5 year old daughter actually loves the song and very much so appreciated this video 🤣. Raising her right 🤣🤣👍👍
Adam,Scarecrow has been around since mid 80s. The original owner used to do things like take trips to Japan just to get rare tapes/laserdiscs worth hundreds$$. Kurt Cobain and Courtney love used to go in there,Roger Ebert,David Lynch etc.. It's probably the most well stocked video store in the entire country.
@@morgellon7877 yes I did enjoy his later stuff , he really moved me when he told the story of what happened to him when he snuck into a museum and saw a real apparition and how it affected him years later .
As soon as I saw the title, it brought back some amazing 90’s memories!!! I did “not get” Tom Green at first(I was like 11 or 12 when he came on MTV), but then I realized he was my type of person 😊. Seriously ahead of his time. If I had the money, I would probably build my own vhs store just like this one! My area sadly puts most vhs on the curb 🙄. I rescue it when I can, sell what’s worth something, and then donate the rest. Some stuff only came out on vhs, especially old skate videos so many still want it but also appreciate it ;)
I had to check out the Tom Green video just after you guys did the Swedish bit, just to get some idea but oh my god, hilarious. I had no idea what it was about, I can't remember the Tom Green show reaching the UK.
WOW Adam Starbucks has come a long way. I went to Seattle and went to the first Starbucks. I took my Husband and Sons picture right in front of the building. Thanks for sharing.
Fun fact…there are 5 Starbucks Roasting Plants in the US. One being the Carson Valley Roasting Plant, in Minden, Nevada (which is about 5 miles from my residence), and one of the largest in the world! Love when the wind is blowing the aroma in my direction!
Adam, there was a house down by the Boeing Development Center, across from the Museum of Flight, that held out like that for a very long time as well. It was finally torn down though and is now part of the employee parking lot I believe. Enjoying very much watching you traipsing through and around my birthplace (I was even born at Swedish Hospital). If you drive by Auburn, please wave.
Starbucks. We need coffee in the morning in Seattle. It is cold and rainy outside. Don't forget your hoodie jacket. We don't use umbrellas for rain. Only the tourists do.
I really enjoyed the ghost tour in Seattle this past fall. I had a nasty cold but got some meds and felt better. I was determined to go on the ghost tour with a guide. Very cool. Seattle is a fun town and a great place to visit. Saw the Seahawks and Mariners too. Space Needle was super cool too. Monorail was fun to ride.
*The Starbucks Reserve and Roastery in Chicago is the largest of the six. It's 5 floors when counting the rooftop dining area and spans 43,000 sq, ft. in total area.* The Seatle location is the smallest of the six locations seen here in the video at 15,000 sq, ft. However, when it first opened back in 2014 it was the world's largest Starbucks. Today it's the 6th largest. The Chicago location will remain the world's largest Starbucks moving forward since there are no additional plans to build any more Starbucks Reserve and Roastery locations. The average dedicated Starbucks store typically averages about 1,200 sq. ft. in size. Starbucks locations inside retail stores however are a bit smaller. (Usually around 800 sq, ft.) World's top 6 largest and fanciest Starbucks locations. (Aka...These are the only locations that hold the title of a "Starbucks Reserve And Roastery" as well.) NOTE: Not to be confused with "Starbucks Reserve" locations which are still larger fancier stores, but without the full roastery experience and menu and are typically limited to around 3,500 ~ 5,000 sq, ft. These locations typically add liquor options to the standard menu. But not the food or specialized coffee options a Roastery will have.) 6. Seattle Washington USA - 15,000 sq, ft. (1st Reserve and Roastery of the six to be built.) 5. New York City USA - 23,000 sq, ft. 4. Milano Italy - 25,000 sq, ft. 3. Shanghai China - 30,000 sq, ft. 2. Tokyo Japan - 32,000 sq, ft. spanning 4 floors. (World's 2nd largest Starbucks and former world's largest of 2019) 1. Chicago Illinois USA - 43,000 sq, ft. in total when counting all 4 floors and the 5th-floor rooftop dining garden. (35,000 sq, ft. for the 4 main interior floors.)
The log is in reference to The Log Lady from Twin Peaks. If you travel east out of Seattle, you’ll reach Snoqualmie Falls. It’s one of the spots where they filmed parts of the series and film.
Great vlog, love seeing different places - nice tour guide to have, haha cannot believe he was kicked out of the UK - Would be great if you added UK to your list of places to visit Adam - thanks for sharing
Very cool TG locations. I remember the whole BumBum thing started on the spring break cruise ship when he was trying to give the captain a fish sandwich at 4 o'clock in the morning and the security guy was trying to move him along 😄
Nothing like a surprise trip down video memory lane with the Bum Bum song. To think you could only watch the video at your leisure on the official MTV website back in '99.
R.I.P : Blockbuster , Hollywood video , Family video / other movie rental places / Also R.I.P : Kmart , Sears , Toy Stores : Toys R US , KB Toys , Disney Store and other places no longer * I was born in November 1984 / Good ole days of Nickelodeon / TV shows , Music on radio / MTV - VH1 , CMT with music videos
Saw the thumbnail and thought, what's going on here, the Starbucks roastery, now that is somewhere to appreciate a cup of coffee, Up, love that film, hope Edith can see her little house is still there, good for her, making a stand, had to google the bum bum song, odd tune lol, you made sliding down that handrail look painful Adam 😂, video store best ever, i love a good poster for the walls and they were👍🏻, Thankyou to you Adam and Peanut for the vlog, loved it, learnt and saw things i didn't know and hadn't seen
As soon as I read the thumbnail I thought of Daddy would you like some sausage. Love Tom Green. Pure Legend. Adam you need to do a collab with Tom up in Canada. Maybe rent or buy another van and head up North ehh. You’re welcome👊
Hi Adam, I’ve been enjoying your travels for a couple of years, but I never had anything relevant to add. Today I do - there is a Starbucks Roasting Plant in my town of Minden, Nevada in the Carson Valley (25 minutes from Lake Tahoe, 45 minutes south of Reno) It opened January 5, 2003 and was their third after those in Kent, WA and York, PA. Well, that’s my 2 cents.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video! I can’t believe as someone from the west coast, I have yet to go to Seattle! Definitely love overdue. I hope you bump into Liz from fresh baked! 🥰
This is my first Adam the Woo video I’ve watched. I’ve seen him on the TimTracker videos and enjoyed his banter. He got me today with the Tom Green references. I’ll have to subscribe to see more. 😊
You should check out Archie McPhee. You’d love that store. You were right by it in Ballard where the up house was. That would be my two recommendations for very Seattle things to do if you’re still there. Archie McPhee and the Underground Tour.
