Truly helpful. It worked with my M100 Canon which has no microphone input. Another piece of advice, I could also use the hole under the camera for the mounting and blew onto it. It added extra power to the camera for about half an hour. Hence no need of power supply. When the low battery icon blinks on the screen, just blow under the camera.

In my opinion it is very difficult to believe that an analog audio signal from mic can be converted to a digital audio and decoded by USB input by just one wire. Also, internal camera firmware should be able to switch from build-in or external mic, but camera is not designed this way. I only can believe that, if camera firmware were updated. What I see on this video is external mic and wire is not working and all recorded audio comes from existing build-in mic. He thinks mic is blocked but audio has different paths to get build-in mic.

This will not work.You have to go to settings/Menu and activate the camera to take the audio from an external device.
