“I’m not gonna let that get me down.” That’s hard to say, as anyone who has had a big financial hit or known the violation of theft knows. But, it’s exactly how we should live our lives. Great sentiment, and inspires me to keep this in mind. Thanks for the contagious positive attitude.
Glad it was only "possessions" taken, and not the hard earned values and principles you live by. As a productive garden, and thoughtful friends, are worth more than gold. Wonderful to see your gratitude in full swing.
Shawn I feel your pain! Few months back some loser broke into my truck and stole a good portion of my tools that I need for work. Sickens me people resorte to theft instead of working hard. Hope they catch the punks!
We feel ya! We live in Jacksonville Fl, and last week we had home invasion while I was out of town and my wife and daughter were at work. They stole everything we owned and destroyed the rest. We refuse to give up. Onward. Never give up Hope.
What @federick moller said, probably a meth head. I never, ever leave anything in my car and it's still broken into. One time some dumbass crackhead couldn't figure out where the glovebox button was (it wasn't locked) so broke the whole dash, which cost more than the car was worth to fix....
Mom and dad taught me the ethics of working to get what I wanted and needed. If I couldn’t afford it, I didn’t need it. So I strived to worked my way up the “corporate ladder” by showing enthusiasm and desire to learn. I wish everyone had that desire. But like weeds in the grass, thieves are a nuisance and are never satisfied. God Bless you Mr and Mrs Shawn Jacobs. I pray your equipment is recovered or replaced so that we can continue to enjoy such beautiful and tranquil scenery.
Unfortunately both of those things are caused by the flaws in human society. Complain about thieves but ignore poverty, complain about cancer but continue to smoke and drink.
God is Dead; I know many people who live in "poverty," and yet, are honest, humble and carring. A thief is a thief is a thief, they come from all backgrounds and all quarters. Do not defend thievery!
Shawn: That is a shame that people steel all over this country, I hope you get recovery from insurance. They were a beautiful picture you had taken. Watching your life adventures at home and Alaska. Keep the faith brother.
Sorry you got hit by somebody who clearly lacks respect for others. They walk among us. Glad you’re back at the cabin .... these are the vids (and glimpses of your world) that I enjoy the most
My heart just stopped for a second when you said your camera had been stolen. I'm sorry for your loss. May the thief never profit one cent from those items.
Sorry to hear about your camera, you know, scumbags come out of the woodwork no matter where you are. Take care. Beautiful video by the way. Love the music.
Oddly enough my friend & I have been watching and really enjoying your wilderness series on you-tube. I was looking at my e-mails and found yours about my 16 yr old tuxedo kitty. When I clicked on it I got your video about the theft of your camera. I saw Cali and recognized her from your Wilderness series. Then I put 2+2 together and was so happy to find we have been watching that along with your bird series.. I will pray for the return of your camera & wallet as your cameras, wonderful pictures & videos bring so much pleasure to so many people & animals alike. Thank you again. Linda, Missy & Beverly. 💝
We enjoy your videos very much especially when Cali is in them. We moved from So. Texas to the Middle East and miss the time we used to spend fishing and hunting in Central Texas. Thank you for helping fill the void. Be blessed and wish you well.
Unfortunately, modern police have zero incentive to find stolen items. They're totally 100% useless in these cases, literally the only reason to even call them is because you have to make out a police report for the insurance company... if not for that, you'd be better off not even contacting the police, since you're more often than not, more likely to get in trouble YOURSELF when you call them... because of who knows why. They always find a reason.
So nice to see you again. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and videos. Am very sorry about your stuff being stolen, and I hope you get them back. I’ll be praying for you and yours.
We so love watching your videos in the evening on television. We look forward to relaxing and watching you enjoy the life my Marine husband has always dreamed of doing but never go to do. He’s too old to start something like that now.
I am sorry to hear about this. I will be praying for you. I know this is painful for you. I cried when something like this happened to me. But believe me when I tell you I'm praying for you and that will get your things back.
Shawn I am so sorry that you had your camera and wallet stolen. I hope the thief/thieves are caught. On a lighter note your video of wildlife is stunning. I appreciate your channels and all that you share. Thank you.
You’re such a nice man with such a sweet spirit. The thief stole your camera, wallet and glasses. You know, I don’t understand why people should steal other people’s things. Anyway you continue to have that sweet upbeat spirit. Love watching you and God bless.
Great vids Shawn,I appreciate it. Hope you get reimbursed big time! Your Alaska scenes at the end mean alot to you, that's why they are there I believe. You have inspired me to go back to photography. Thanks.
Aww those cute cubbie bears with mama! So sweet. ♥️ And such beautiful guitar music with the nature scenes. So perfect. ☺️ I’m so sorry there are people who think it’s okay to take someone else’s belongings. Makes my blood boil. So happy you got to meet up with your old friend from so long ago. Happiness. 🙏 Hotter than hot here in Texas still. Will be for months so looking forward to seeing your cooler weather and all the happenings at the cabin. 😊
Sorry to hear about the loss of your equipment and wallet. I really don't like a rogue. I hope whoever stole your stuff is caught. Hang in there Shawn.
This is an exquisite few minutes. Thank you! I will mention whenever I can to you my gratitude for the building of the longhouse, and the appreciation you have of the first people. The opening was just eye popping! So fantastic! All very beautiful.
It still hurts james, and inconveniences our lives, so it isn't taken lightly in my world. I need every little thing I have, and every so often things get taken and it makes my life difficult. I feel for Shawn, this isn't easy for him. It wasn't hard on us, just him.
Hi Shawn. Dang, that way sucks. I'm so sorry that happened. My boss (who is super cool) had his truck broken into, and they stole his golf clubs. I don't understand that mentality. I really don't. I'm glad you're able to keep such a positive attitude. Pardon my French, but I'm sitting here all pissed off, now. On a lighter note, I really love your channel! I've been subscribed for a couple of years, now. Please keep doing what you're doing. Cali rocks! :) :) :)
@Kevin Vance -- I could add, never leave anything of value in your home/condo/apartment. All my clothes were stolen from my apartment once -- not a stitch of clothing left! Nothing else, just my clothes. A top floor in a high-rise building, with a deadbolt lock.
I'm really sorry, although most physical items are replaceable, its always hard to lose our earned stuff. I hope your insurance covers at least some of your losses. Stay positive, and I'm sure you'll bounce up from this unfortunate event!
Someone broken your property, but not your spirit and light, everything someone took the universe will give you back thousand and the person who took your camera have lost his blessings.
Kudos for keeping calm and not letting that loss of material valuables shake your foundations. I know that I won’t take it kindly, to say the least.. I guess it’s part of your self reliance influence, that improves man’s character. Thank you for sharing.
So sorry you had your camera and tripod, and wallet stolen. Had my purse stolen twice. I was mugged by two men just after i cashed my paycheck . I lost quite a few things besides my weeky pay. They pushed me into a store doorway, i screamed and one slapped me and they grabbed my purse and ran. So glad i screamed as this was in chicago and the elavated tracks were just around the corner. I was xmas shopping for my boyfried. And another time i left my purse in a locked car while running in a post office in Wyoming . I couldn't have been gone for more than a minute or two.. my window was smashed to pieces. That was some years ago , thing's were not bad as they are now. And i was young. So i can really sympathize with you. Im so sorry you went through that especially because you seem like such a nice person and work hard to bring us such wonderful videos. I will say some prayers for you and your family and Cali. The positive is that it makes one more aware and more cautious.
When you live as simple and humble and becoming in harmony with the Lord's good nature you tend to forget that evil still exist so please be more mindful when you are back in the city and where thieves thrive on innocent victims. I love your style brother! God bless!
I'm sorry about your gear :( The footage at the end of your video was so wonderful for me to see! Moose are my favorite animals and I got to see one in real life when I visited North Idaho. So much serenity in your clips at the end. Blessed me a lot. Thank you for all you do to create for us!
Wow, don't feel so bad someone somewhere has it way worse then you my brother. For example; I lost my oldest son on the 6 of July, the wife and I are getting along I just feel so empty, hollow plus a million other feelings... Blessings to you! I'll ask the universe to shine on you with many many other things then rain, snow, hail or sunshine.
Sorry for the loss of your camera especially. You have the BEST nature photography I have ever seen. You could just put a Blueray together along with that guitar music and sell it.
So sorry for your loss ! You’re able to continue to find joy in your day and that speaks volumes about your character. We watch your videos and think they’re great. All the best from Montreal 👍🏻
I feel such a kinship with you. I love your spirit. It's funny to say it like, "I went to help my sister find the bull she lost in the brush". I can totally get that! My mom and sister have a farm. I really enjoy watching you live the life you choose, by creating it.
Oh boy, It's a terrible feeling. I just hope you were insured, but I think the odds of seeing any of that again are quite remote. Glad it isn't getting you down too much. Low life's.
So glad you, Callie and your home were ok. As disappointing as it was you lost your camera and the memories on it, I am glad you guys are ok. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into these videos. They are very inspiring. All the best finding a new camera.
Almost caught a buglar once, when I got home early, sadly I he heard me and got out of a window on the other side of house. As the police officer said to me afterwards: "If you catch him another time, remember to tell us that he fell down the stairs."
@Becky Vickers and don't miss.,I had a stick in my hand pick it up on my way home from taken my walk open my door there was a big boy in my middle room in my bag STEELING my money ,Well I took that stick and started beating him while he was running out my back door. ,I had to go to hospital ,I went into laybor,.
Shawn, if you would list the camera by items, you have your fans that would make a wide net of eyes out there watching for the equipment. Is it the same camera you list under 'show more'? A thief has such a lost soul.....
Omgooooosh, sir I'm sorry for ur loss but, what u have in your life and what u have created is heaven on earth !!! U have such a miraculous , incredibly beautiful life..... Your vids are without question the the best I've ever seen....in glad ur talking more too, it adds so much to the vids....much love to Cali, and u, your wife and family 💞💖☝☝☝💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
So sorry to hear that.. there is that segment of society EVERYWHERE! Your photography is stunning as always. Glad to hear you have returned home safely and have refocused. I hope they find your things and will be prosecuting those responsible. 🌲
Nice video back at the cabin, missed Cali! Glad you had a safe trip to Alaska, sorry about your stolen property, hope you can recover some of the loss. Hate to see summer coming to an end!🐾🐾
Always great to reunite with old friends. What an amazing treat, receiving all of that wonderful bear meat/lard !! As well as the turkey feathers. Congrats on that. Sorry to hear of the loss, due to theft. Thieves deserve every bad thing which comes their way. I hope you're able to get it resolved/recovered.
You have the greatest treasure money cannot buy ,clean air ,being with nature everyday and freedom enjoying a life style that gives you enjoyment and us admiration .
Shawn, I'm so sorry that happened to you but I hope you won't have that awful feeling of trespass. It's awful. The Alaska trip was par excellence worthy of David Attenborough. TFS
It pains me to see how terrible things can happen to a person with such loving and motivating charm such as Shawn James. Shawn is a great role model to heal those broken enough to want to steal. Keep up the great and addicting videos!
Thank you very much for your response. I wanted to let you know that I will follow your beautiful videos in the evening when I come from work to relax after a busy day. just the sound of nature, cooking, open fire, sawing and carpentry and then a story from you. I think it's super de-stressing. I will quickly look further and greetings from the Netherlands.
Sorry to hear that someone felt the need to take your things and the damage they caused to get them. I have been really enjoying your videos and am amazed at what one can accomplish when someone puts their all into it and with hand tools no less!
Once again another amazing and relaxing video of the Alaskan wilderness. But to hear that the camera that shot all those beautiful scenery was just stolen is truly disheartening. This is one reality of life....that we share this beautiful blue planet with evil. I only know something for sure, the universe works in mysterious ways....To the person who stole from you, something 🐲in return is coming back to him and ain’t gonna be good.
No words can describe how you must feel. You and your wife work so hard at bringing us such beauty. So grateful and thank you for that. And we are truly sorry that happened to and your family. I offer up prayers to the one that was so desperate that they needed to harm others. Sad. But heads up and move forward. That's what we do. Again thank you so much for sharing you and your family's journey. Have a wonderful day. Sincerely Michelle Pup Harley and Kitty Liam Arlington Massachusetts.
lynnb it’s HUGE. Imagine their income in relation to outlay! Their recovery costs aren’t that big, and what does PayPal or a credit card co. charge? Seven percent for a credit card company I think, tops. PLUS as I said taxes, which would have to be paid on both sides of the border and could likely have Shawn to have to file income taxes on both sides of the border. ☹️
What a wonderful video. I loved the end full of nature with the mama bear and her cubs, and the incredible moose! Thank you so much for that amazing photography/video. Completely swept me away to another world.
As I said few months ago - *enable supporting* the channel, so it will be easier to secure stuff and buy more things to the cabin :) I will be the first one for sure! And you can thank such people in easy way. For example I've board with small printed and laminated avatars of my supporters. You can make such place in your cabin and show that wall sometimes. I'm sure you will get several hundred supporters. Not just for the money because you have it anyway, thanks to that you will take care of safety without your own expenses.
Sadly this is the time where are living in. And if you secured it to the hilt. they will still find a way. Besides it churning your stomach it is material and so as others have said. Hopefully the insurance company will do the right thing.
Great shot of the mother bear, cubs and moose. Love it! Can't wait to see up coming events! Sorry to about your camera and wallet. It is a shame that people think they can take things that does not belong to them and have no remorse or moral compass. I hope the insurance covers your loss.
the law can have your gps traced on your ID magnectic strip...........on license.Your camara has id numbers,,,black list with local pawns shops etc.im sorry James..
I think you can report the S/N to canon as stolen. Definitely worth calling canon to check. So if canon ever see your camera in for repair or cleaning in the future they will know it's stolen and call you/police. The thief is unlikely to take it to canon, but the person they sell it to is.
Sorry to hear about your items getting stolen. Good to see you back at the cabin however it was nice to see you get a break. Always nice to see old friends. Glad you had a great visit with them.
Just love your videos. They help bring a sense of calmness to my world. Makes me forget about all the drama in my life. I hope the insurance helps with what was stolen. God bless you.
