In this video I'm telling my breast surgery story - all the details. I have been honest, as always. It's a tell all/show all kind of video. There may be some parts that some people don't want to see! If you are squeamish this is your warning - just turn it off :)
Thank you for watching!

I am going through stage 3 breast cancer over the last year. I've had a double mastectomy and 8 of my 9 lymph nodes removed on the right side. I went through 33 sessions of radiation. Now I am waiting for my reconstruction surgery to be scheduled. The doctor told me I had to wait 3 months after my last radiation treatment for the reconstruction surgery to be done. I've finally healed from my 2nd degree burns caused by the radiation. I thank you for sharing your story to help others.

How are you doing now? Thank you for sharing your story. I am praying for you. I was Stage 3 also, but chose no reconstruction.

My darling girl you are so gorgeous. Your “warrior scars” comment made me cry. I feel incredibly proud to have mine and I think some people find that hard to understand. Our club is not one I wanted to join but I’m happy to wear my scars as a badge of honour. You look amazing. So happy to see you looking so well so soon after surgery. Keep going my pink sister 💕💕💕

Hi Nikki ❤ I don't have cancer, but for the last 10 years I have participated in the CIBC Run for the Cure. It's a 5km run/walk to raise funds for breast cancer. Even though I've not been affected, this is a cause I've always felt strongly in supporting. I truly am in awe of the women (and men) who have fought this fight! Your scars are definitely something to be proud of and I give you mad props! Sending love from Canada ❤

Crissy D you are awesome. I pray you never join the club! I was diagnosed in Sept and had a double mastectomy soon after. I’m also proud of my scars and I don’t wNt a tattoo to cover my badges of honor. 👍 Thanks for all you do for the cause!!! 💕

I loved your comment of warrior scars, very inspirational and true! I have had a lumpectomy + LN axillary dissection 2x (3pos), and i understand your arm pain, I'm still in phys therapy. I will be undergoing chemo later this week, but I too consider myself a Warrior. Emotion can creep up and be very confusing, on one hand you are determined to get through this journey a fighter, but sometimes may wonder how this happened to me? Keep going sista', i tell myself the same. It's also wonderful to have a partner elevate their love and support for you. Stay alive and Warrior beautiful!!!

You don't have to push these aside. Warriors cry too, Baby Dee... The tougher they seem, the more they've cried, Love. I commend you for your Courage and for being Human and crying as well. Hello Dee, I am a breastie too and have lymphoedema in my right arm. Can I suggest that you 'walk' your arm up a wall as if your hand were a spider, do it slowly and try to go just a bit further up each day. Once your radiotherapy and surgical scars have healed it would be great to go swimming. It really helps with range of movement and also with lymphoedema. Stay strong, you are doing really well. XX

I came across your videos and I obviously do not have breast cancer but your personality, strength, honestly, vulnerability, humor and cute as a button face has really helped me. Thank you for allowing others to follow you through this time. I have watched all your videos and you are truly a breath of fresh air. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Dee; I have followed you from your diagnosis all the way thru to your surgery and now recovery. I actually looked forward to your next installment as it was like visiting with a friend. I was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer (DCIS, stage 3, triple positive) in June 2018. You have been such an inspiration, given me hope and strength during my chemo with A/C just when I wanted to give up as I was so sick and debilitated from that awful "red devil." I'm thrilled to see that you are doing much better and still giving out useful information for us Pink Warriors that are a few steps behind you. You tip on getting a bumbag for your drains is great. I was wondering what I was going to do with drains coming out of both sides of me as I am having a double mastectomy in January. I have been ripped apart after 6 months of chemo. My body is feeling the effects of Taxol and I'm tired and just plumb worn out. But I realize that the hardest part hasn't even gotten here. I still need to face surgery and I haven't yet decided if I will go flat or have reconstruction using my own tissue. I just don't want implants after doing my research on them and listening to other women in my support group. It's a monumental life changing decision. We all make the decision that suits us best and I will get there just as you did and come out of all of this crazy cancer journey stronger. I too pan on wearing my scars as my badge of courage. Stay healthy and strong. Sending hugs and well wishes from the states. XX Karen

What a fantastic detailed description of your surgery Dee! Well done! As you know, I too just had a mastectomy with lymph node removal, and I’m happy to know the pain I’m feeling is part of the ‘normal’ healing process. The upper arm area in particular, and the cording pain is the hardest part for me. I’m doing my physio, 2-3 times a day, but each morning it feels like I’m starting at day 1 again! Gets easier towards the end if the day tho. Enjoy your break away, as it’s well deserved for ye both I’m sure. Fingers crossed the good weather will stay too cause isn’t everywhere nicer when the sun shines! 😉 Well done again. You should be very proud of yourself. ❤️

I'm so sorry you've had to go though this. Your a Beautiful Woman and I can guarantee you that any Man would tell you that's Not a terrible Boob. I hope you feel better every day. My wife just had a Mastectomy and today is been one week since the surgery. She's doing better than I would have thought. She's slow getting around and has the next month off of work so she's been taking it easy. I've been making all the meals and doing laundry and helping her in anyway I can. My Mom had a Mammogram while my wife was going though this and she got a call back. Turns out she has stage 1 Breast Cancer. I just can't believe it. Best of luck to you. Thanks for sharing your story. it makes me mad women have to go though this.

There is more to you than a breast, yes it's sad to have them removed . Your Husband fell in love and still in love with you not because of your breasts. You are a beautiful, strong brave woman. God Bless x

The injury to the ribs caused the lymphedema, you needed help healing your ribs with less lymph action. That's only my opinion. Your my heroine. You go girl. My prayers are with you for a cancer free life from here on out.

oh my god i feel sick, literaly feel sick! it was me that asked you the 'intimate'question and i didnt mean it in the way you took it to be and it made you cry,i made you cry.i am so sorry.it was meant more to understand how you could feel in your own head,if you maybe couldnt help those insecurities creep in.we have so much media pressure as women to 'have it all' in what we look like and its so wrong i know it is but im one of those women who is insecure and i think it would scare me,the way my husband would see me.i am rambling and it will never come across the same just in type.i am so sorry sweetheart...never ever meant to upset you xxxx

Hi Dee, Thank you for you're videos. I am on this horrific journey, two chemos left and then surgery and radiation. I try to stay positive but as you know it isn't easy but what choice do we have but to keep on with this battle. For someone so young to of had to go through this you are truly amazing. I only hope I can be as courageous through this as you have been. All the best and God bless Helen x

Hi Dee, thank you very much for taking the time to do the video, it is really helpful for someone who is going on the same path. I am just disappointed that in Belgium they do not use the Jackson Pratt and the Pico dressing - would be so much easier. Instead after the operation a lot of liquid is collecting in the cavity of mastectomy and all they can do is to extract it with drain. However all these punctions decrease a lot the quality of life, especially after 6 weeks from operation and still don’t see an end of it.
